It was very good fun. Iran is far off the grid - no credit cards, no tourist offices, very few visitors at all, so it was a bit of a challenge just to get around.

The people were very curious and friendly, always eager to talk. I get the strong impression of a country that's very young, poor and isolated, and frustrated as a result.
