Oh I absolutely would have pulled the American card on him and done it loudly to boot! What crummy treatment!
Then again I don't have the experience of being Muslim and traveling so I don't know what being a loud American and Muslim would have heaped on you.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets her deodorant from the US. I don't think antiperspirants are common here. Also, I never thought of it this way and always was amazed at how much some Germans stink when the weather heats up... but maybe it's just the difference between living in a big city and a small town? Maybe people stink in small towns in America, too, but there's so much space that you don't notice? I don't know. I still think it's because when people think of deodorant (if they do at all), they just spray some perfume or some scented spray on them to mask over their stench. And though most of the younger generation shaves under their arms, SOME people still don't and I am convinced this adds to the B.O.

hehehe they don't have deoderant in Europe?
Two things ticked me off about life in Europe:
a) not many supermarkets
b) no ice in the drinks
c) no dr pepper (they say it tastes like cough syrup).
anyways, i have some french jokes that I'll keep to myself because some might find them offensive. oh... ok... you talked me into telling one.
Q: Why do French tanks have rear view mirrors?
A: So they can see the battle!!!!!

Hi Steve, like Sally alluded to, they have deodorant, but they don't have a lot of anti perspirant. The French say it blocks your sweat glands or something, but guess what it smells like when there is no air conditioning- funk and cheap perfume. Oh well.
