With your great photography, you could make some killer custom baseball cards if you ever had a mind to. I guess that's what I enjoy most about your blog, the photos. The stories from the bleachers are great, but your photos are killer.

Great post. Rafael Fernandez is Brazilian, and attended college in Japan. I don't know if he's ethnically part Japanese or not. I covered him briefly in a post I did earlier this week:

ah, interesting. There's a player on Asia's team named Bruno, I'm not sure of his ethnicity either and haven't had a chance to look. the Toyo oyaji sitting near me were all like "whoa, they have a gaijin". Heh. Guess they didnt know about Shirakura.

I find it weird that some teams like the Marines select 8 ikusei players while others like Yokohama selected none.
