Seattle Marinerds

Gravatar It's worth mentioning again that if you're at Akabane it's just a handful of stops to Yakult's ni-gun field. Looking at the map I guess you would use Kita-Toda and then walk a bit...

That is, if you're like me and think riding trains is fun.

Gravatar I have already been to Yakult's ni-gun field in the offseason, last November when I was in my series of sneaking into minor league stadiums. (Here is a picture of me in the dugout there and a picture I took of the field. I just never made an entry about it on here...) It's a nice bike ride from where I live -- about the same distance as Lotte.

Problem is that it is a REALLY far walk from Kita-Toda station, like a good 25-30 minutes at least, including up a hill and through a riverside park. So it's not really easy to do from work unless I ride my bike to Kita-Toda or Toda Koen station in the morning, ride the train to work from there, then take the train back there and get my bike to go to the stadium. Getting back to Akabane by 5pm after a game would REALLY be pushing it without a bike, although 6pm wouldn't be too difficult.

Believe me, I ride trains for hours and hours to pretty much every place in existence (you know where Kamagaya is, right?). But there's a difference between going somewhere, and going somewhere when I have a very big time constraint. I was totally going to go to the Swallows-Fighters game on 6/25 until I got told I had to be at work for a 1pm meeting, which never happened anyway. I was pretty angry about that.

Gravatar The photos in this post are gorgeous!

Gravatar Christopher, thanks! Hopefully I'll have some Swallows ni-gun pictures up one of these years too :)

Gravatar Hey! What's going with this inter-blog communication?!

Marinerds are in cahoots with Trans Pacific Radio?

What's next?

The guys who do the Swallows blog end up getting Deanna Marinerd treatment at Marine Stadium?

What is the Pro Yakyu Cyber-World coming to?

I'm not sure it's safe anymore for my kids, whoever and wherever they might be.

Gravatar Deanna,
If you ever get a chance, that would be fantastic to see some Tokyo ni-gun photos!

In the meantime, however, what you've got going here will more than suffice.

Your camera is obviously better than mine...

Gravatar We Love Marines,

Cahooting is healthy!

I just consume good content, that's all. That's why I'm here.

And no, your kids, who/wherever they might be, are probably not safe. After all, Tokyo fans have foul mouths.

However, if I ever happen to meet one of your youngsters, have no fear. I promise that I will share my green umbrella.

Gravatar Deanna has no clue what any of you are talking about.

Also, she has a Nikon D200 with a crappy cheap slow 70-300 lens. She just gets lucky sometimes with taking photos, and generally doesn't put up the 95% of them that get ruined by fences and stuff, of course. :)
