First, I love to read your blog ;), it is fun, an an excellent way to learn about nippon baseball (here, in central colombia, the baseball-MLB-coverage is low, even two years ago when a colombian land in NPB, the media never says anything about him!).
A girl playing pro-ball... it is wonderful! :D, I search some info about her, but unfortunatelly i can't find the stats :(.. there are other girls playing pro in japan?
I hope see some day a girl playing in a major league level (NPB or MLB) :D

Thanks.
I think there's still a rule in MLB banning women from playing, which was put in sometime around 1931. I might be mistaken and I don't have time to look it up right now.
I don't know of any other women playing pro ball in Japan right now, no... and it's surprisingly difficult to get stats from the non-NPB leagues here. I don't actually know how much Ayumi played this year, although she did actually play a decent amount last year from what I understand.

Ore wa honki de kaimasu...
... Oop, did I say that out loud?
Anyways, impressive collection! Kataoka Ayumi is like a 5'1" second baseman, which I totally respect as well. Apparently there's a reasonable amount of high school girls baseball teams around here, enough to play in international friendlies with other women's baseball national teams.
