Great interview! Are interviews hard to get? And are part of the press?
It's interesting to hear about the Fighters using his knee story as a reason (excuse ?) not to sign him for hitting a .249 in 2007 - a typical Japanese move to despose a popular figure like him (and am a local). I think he made a good contribution for the Fs last year, I mean he killed us (Lotte and its fan, that is), with two dreadful homeruns last year (one off Masa Kobayashi with a heart breaking "gyakuten" homer at the Mari-Sta, and one off Naruse, that buried us for good in the playoffs), maybe we are better off with Fernando than our Panamian counterpart. Anyway, it's good to see him back in the Pacific League, though he almost buried us again over last weekend. Also, he sounds like an intelligent fellow from your interview.
P.S. I love his ouen-ka from his Fighters days - I downloaded it on my mobile and use it as my morning wake-up call on my working days.

Yeah, Seguignol was just really friendly, thoughtful, and talkative. I seriously just enjoyed getting to listen to him tell stories about Shinjo and whatnot.
Poor Zoo. This really isn't his year, huh.
BTW, you still going to Lotte Urawa from time to time?
