To answer Bob Miller's question, yes, you can still have your coffee. This is the rule when fasting for something like this, you can have liquids (water, coffee, juice) but no solid foods.
Of course someone who was REALLY fasting (like wanted to kill themselves) would only sip water or nothing at all. You can live for a long time without food, but not without water.
So Coffee is good to go!

I would be honored to take August 24th. I would like to suggest that we take this through to September 11th at which point we all take a stand to do this UNITED AS ONE!! I for one will pass this site along to all my family and friends.
I think Tammy's idea is a good one. It got me to thinking how great this is, like minded people united to support our Troops in the war (for civilization) on terror. Tanker brothers and sisters (very cool). All of us united on September ll. I remembered a quotation at the World War II Memorial. "Women who stepped up were measured as citizens of the nation, not as women...this was a people's war, and everyone was in it."
That made me a little sad. That as a country we aren't as united as we were on 12 Sept 2001. That the motivation for this is some of our fellow citizens.
...And then I got mad again, 'cause what the heck don't the CodePinkos understand about Sept. ll and the motivation of the people that want to kill us?

Cindy Sheehan says her son didn't die for a just cause; Mike Stokely died just because - he loved his family, his friends, his country, understood his duty, did it with honor, and bravely served his country by giving his life when called upon in the service of his country. To understand a just cause, you have to live for one; if one is willing to live for a just cause, they flinch not if asked to die for one. Mike Stokely didn't flinch.
I'm in on August 16th. Thank God for men/women like Mike who unselfishly gave their all. God Bless. My prayers will be with you and your family on the 16th as we fast and contine our ROLLING VICTORY FAST!!

I think we shoud keep going past Sept 11 as long as people want to keep fasting. Remember to pray for the soldiers before you start your fast and when you are going to end it. My husband wants to sign up for a day, so where are we at? Thankyou for all your hard work.

Call me crazy but I think we should continue the fast for the length of time of a deployment. I realize the length depends on what branch, where you are going, etc. but.......if our men and women in uniform can sacrifice for the length of their deployment I'll bet we can as a group? Just my idea.

Hmmm... the length of a deployment? That's 365 and a wakeup... It sounds like a great idea, but it will have to become bigger than it is right now.
Cav Tanker and I will be deploying soon, and it may be a little difficult for us to run it for the whole 365 while we're away.

The length of a deployment was "just an idea". I'd offer to take over but with my trips to Kosovo, etc. I wouldn't be able to do everyone justice.

My day was 16 July. I did two and half days, starting midnight 14 July, because the 16th was my wife's birthday, and we had dinner plans with the kids. We all had dinner together at Texas Roadhouse.
