Gravatar I'm surprised there are no other comments. I do have a hard time understanding young men who signed up for a voluntary army after the war started, who now don't want to serve?? This would hae been understandable at he beginning of the war but now?? I wonder if Canada is going to give them the financial support in the future that they will need because, they won't be allowed to return in the future. Sorry but the youtube guy was just a little to smiley with the new attention being bestowed upon him.

- I think you hit it on the head. They do seem to like the attention the media is sooo willing to bestow on them.

I hope Canada sticks to it's guns. If you decide to desert a volunteer military, you should be willing to take the consequences and not run away from it. Oh! But wait!! that's what they do, isn't it? Silly me...

I say let's send them to Mexico if they want to run away and cut off all benefits.

Gravatar Brat, thanks for using my poetry and giving me a place to blow off steam about idiots like those you have again exposed on this site. Quite simply, many of the anti-war soldiers are bought. Others joined for the educational benefits but never expected to have to do anything to earn them. They are selfish, self-serving asses who will pay some day for their deceit. Groups like that bunch in Canada (identical to our home grown fools) are applauded by the press with a power play to sell in an attempt to create history, not report it. Fifty protesters is a broad based group? Ha Ha. One member from each of 50 splinter groups who search for a moment of fame, get together and the media actually gives them their moments of fame when the base is only truly broad enough to span the width of a toilet seat. And the media are the toilets where nothing but waste flows.

Gravatar Hey Yankeemom, I say Mexico is too good for them. Let's send them to one of the countries where they have none of the freedoms that we American's and Canadian's enjoy. How about somewhere where they can be beheaded for oposing whatever evil dictator is in power.
If they are born to a free society and want to enjoy those rights, that IS their right. If they choose to join the military, (yes I said choose), and want the benefits that said military provides, they must follow the commands of their Commander in Chief. Lest they forget, that same Commander in Chief that was freely elected by a majority of their fellow citizens.
I guess they are conveniently forgetting the oath they took, or maybe more importantly the Soldiers Creed:
I am an American Soldier.
I am a Warrior and a member of a team. I serve the people of the United States, and live the Army Values.
I will always place the mission first.
I will never accept defeat.
I will never quit.
I will never leave a fallen comrade.
I am disciplined, physically and mentally tough, trained and proficient in my warrior tasks and drills.
I always maintain my arms, my equipment and myself.
I am an expert and I am a professional.
I stand ready to deploy, engage, and destroy, the enemies of the United States of America in close combat.
I am a guardian of freedom and the American way of life.
I am an American Soldier.

Gravatar And would somebody please tell these people...the freakin' 60's ARE OVER! Stuff like this just makes me crazy.
