Gravatar What a beautiful tribute to such an amazing team. I offer my sincere prayers and heartfelt sympathy to the Wiens family for the loss of Kory and Cooper. They are together forever in a much better place.

Brat I share your disdain for the callous neglect of the DOD in including Cooper, a true hero in his own right in the official notification. Cooper was a gallant Soldier in the War on Terror just as Kory. Thank you Kory and Cooper for your service to our Great Country. May you play with Angels.

Gravatar I have shed a gallon of tears since I heard of this tragedy a few days ago. It is just heartbreaking. The only thing that lifts my spirits is the thought of Kory and Cooper in heaven playing a game of catch and never having to worry about bad people again.
Peaceful rest for eternity.

Gravatar Brats~ Thank you so much for doing this memorial. They both will truly be missed by so many world wide.

I too agree that Cooper gave his life just like Kory and deserves the same due credit.

Gravatar I have to believe it was all part of a Higher Plan for these two to cross the "Rainbow Bridge" together. THAT is part of what is keeping me going.

Gravatar A soldier is a soldier, two footed or four footed. Both are trained to do a job, and they do it well. They should be honored together. Thank you Brat for the tribute.

Gravatar I'm at work, and I'm sure my co-workers are wondering why I've got tears in my eyes. Thanks for posting this great tribute Brat. God bless these two heroes. I pray it is a comfort to Kory's family that Cooper was with him.

God bless our troops.

Gravatar beautiful tribute brat.

Prayers for Kory and Cooper and their family.

Gravatar Tears were flowing from my eyes as I read the beautifully written tribute to Kory and Cooper. Kory was so young!

I am also angry because I am not sure that our troops, in general, are receiving the support and weaponry they deserve, or that they are being allowed to operate under effective rules of engagement. We can "win hearts and minds," after our troops first rip the hearts out of those who want to kill them. The remaining "hearts" will learn from seeing Terrorists given swift and secure judgment. Forgive my language, but I am damn tired of the politically correct crap that is getting our finest men and women killed!

Anyway, this is a tribute to Kory and Cooper, and I am grateful that we do have such fine men and canines looking out for us. Whenever I read of a fallen troop, I always check to see if there are siblings remaining. I take comfort when there are because in my mind, I want the parents to have other children to be able to grieve and heal as a family.

Gravatar I just had a really good cry over this story. God bless both of them. I'm sure they're in a better place now.

Gravatar Thanks for this post, Brat. Many of you know from my previous comments that I'm a puppy raiser for a guide dog school, and I always read about a human/canine team with a tear in my eye because I know how very special that bond is. This story brought a few more tears than usual.

Rest in peace, Kory and Cooper, and thank you for your service. Future guide dog "Truman" and I will be sending a care package to a K9 team in your honor.

Gravatar Beautiful tribute, Brat, thank you.

As I said earlier, I imagine Kory & Cooper are in Heaven together, sniffing out the scene.

May God comfort this Hero's family and friends.

Gravatar Hard post for you to write Brat. It's so hard to read these stories and not think of the Gen. Patton quote we use every week for the Wednesday Heroes...

We Should Not Only Mourn These Men And Women Who Died, We Should Also Thank God That Such People Lived

Canines too. Godspeed Cpl. Wiens and Cooper.

Gravatar What an amazing team. Angels cried that day and I cannot stop crying after reading and seeing the pictures. God bless you. America truly lost 2 amazing heroes. This is definately a news story that I am going to share with my military support group where I work.
