Way to tell him MG! I have printed out your response to mail out to Senator Lugar. I am also mailing a copy to all of our Texas Reps.
The Soldiers words need to be heard, for you are the eyes and ears in the heat of the battle.
Prayers out!

I'm with you CavMom. Sen Lugar and others WILL be getting this and other correspondence from me.
Anything else I might type here right now wouldn't be "nice" so I'll try to cool off some. I've been physically ill since Lugar came out with his "support" 2 days ago.
God Bless our Military!

Isn't it amazing how many experts on war fare that we have coming out of the woodwork.
"it's not working" "Bush's strategy has failed", "The President doesn't have a plan".
I'm amazed at their intelligence. I just wish they would tell me how do they know it's not working, or that the stratgey has failed, or that Bush doesn't have a plan. What the hell or they comparing it too? Oh I know, it's not working fast enough for their expectations, or the stratgey doesn't work to please them and Bush's plan isn't their plan.
We need to get these guys out of Government, it's obvious how intelligent they are.....ZERO.

It's our instant gratification society coming into play here. People want things and they want it now, and they get it now. They are mistakenly applying this to the war. If something doesn't work right away (or in two measly weeks) then it's not working. People supported the war as long as it could be won in a year or two. Unfortunately, that's not how things have gone. Doesn't mean we are "loosing" or that what we are doing is not working, but that it is going to take time. Some people don't understand that.

Hooofrickinahhhh MG! You always hit the nail squarely.I guess I've been asleep at the wheel these last few days. I just heard the Senator this morning on the Today Show voicing his support for the troops. I almost spit my coffee and threw my TV.
Our troops are fighting the good fight. I'm going to get nasty here.. but Senator Weenie needs to shut his pie hole while braver men are in battle keeping this country safe. His words have proved his sorry lack of "judgement". How dare him.

MG, just to be clear, you haven't even had boots on the ground in Iraq for the Surge for less than two weeks, it wasn't complete then, you've only JUST started with the sweeps and clearing and the actual USE of the boots on the ground. For anyone to say it isn't working or has failed is rediculous.
The cost is too high for an indefinate amount of time? So how long do we fight the war on drugs, or the war on poverty?
Senator Luger needs to get his head out of his duffel bag.....

Even though I live in Ohio now, I grew up in Indiana and I'm really disappointed in Sen. Lugar right now.

Just think of the number of times in U.S. history that someone, somewhere could have wished that the U.S. had more people like Lugar: the British, during the Revolution; the British, during the War of 1812; the Mexicans, during the Mexican-American War; the South, during the War of Northern...I mean, the Civil War; the American Indian; the Axis powers of World Wars 1 and 2; the North Koreans. Well, the North Vietnamese were probably gratified.

Sen. Lugar is an elected representative of the people. Maybe he should keep his judgements to himself and represent the judgements of his constituants intsead. You know, those "loudmouthed stupid people" who elected him. He's dancing on the Treason fence that a whole slew of other "representatives" have already thrown themselves over.
Not to mention his judgement is stunningly poor, to say the least.
thank you all,

"How is it that Senator Lugar knows more about the success or failure of the Baghdad Strategy than the Generals and Soldiers on the ground fighting?"
Being that he is on the Senate Foreign Relations committee how does he not know? That's what kills me.
The Iraq theater, immigration and all the rest are full of mis characterizations by the politicians, media and all the rest.
Yes, why are we there if they have no intentions seeing it through? They have so little respect for those they claim to represent or care about; it's all a game to them.
At NRO today of immigration the editors said: "Among the fallacies of “comprehensive reform” was the notion that this situation could be fixed instantaneously." It is the same fallacy that guides Iraq, the GWOT and everything else in general.
They damned well better keep their mouths shut and give it time. I have expect Lugar pulled this thinking it would be popular and get peoples minds off immigration.
They don't have the luxury of time to allow our soldiers to do their jobs; it's their luxury, soldiers, safety and nation be damned.
Despicable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
