Agree that the Shaq trade works out for the Cavs, for all the same reasons you listed. Also think that Shaq works well in their lockerroom persona.
Not as down on the Magic getting Carter as you though. Although I do think giving up Courtney Lee was a mistake, I think Vince can be an asset. Where he may not have the height of Turkoglu or the outside range, he can still drive the ball to the hoop. I think with we'll see guys have to come off Howard to stop a driving Carter and it will free him up (now if Vince will actually pass the ball, thats a different question.) Also, giving up Alston wasn't big as long as Nelson is 100% and I still don't know if I think Hedo is good or not.
oh, hedo isnt really good. ive never thought he was very good, and i think he played over his head a lot of the playoffs. but he definetly made a lot of matchup problems for opposing teams.
and vince carter is an asset, no doubt. but i think it turns the magic into a more conventional team...and i have my doubts that that will work for them. i still think they'll win 50+ games though.
