It bothers me that Amy is always calling Jake insane or a psychopath. I feel like she has a wall around her and won't let anyone in, won't even see her true self. Jake, on the other hand, although he is trying to be the tough guy, lets his guard down and we can see the true person inside. Not that either of them is right or wrong, but I don't think they will get to a good place in their relationship until Amy gets that wall down. And it doesn't seem to be happening.
Neither Jake no Amy is especially honorable in the relationship. But they also serve as a bit of a projection screen for us, the viewers. It's worth asking ourselves what it is about one or the other we dislike and how that might be true in some way of us.
