Gravatar I'm with you on Edwards. He was my first choice. Some day I'd like to actually get the chance to vote for my favorite candidate. It hasn't happened yet, but I remain optimistic.

Gravatar Well said.

Gravatar In no way an argument, just an observation on my feelings on Hillary: I feel I'm branded a misogynist of sorts, or anti-feminist, simply because I don't like her as a candidate.

I'm leery of expressing a dislike among any but Hillary-haters because I'm treated like it's a gender issue. It's not. Not for me. I don't dislike her because she's a woman. I dislike her because of what I see in her.

I think it's a shame that something with so much potential is so divisive that everybody (or at least I) has to put disclaimers on their feelings to express them comfortably.

Gravatar What I liked about the piece I linked to from the NY Times is that it was written by an Obama supporter. She is still for Obama but has become aware of the deep gender issue at play nonetheless.

Gravatar I am sad about this as well. You've said it all for me, too. Thank you.

Gravatar I like what you had to say. I liked Edwards, too. I hate to say this but I'm going to - I've wondered if Edwards were not a white man, he may have had a shot at the election. I wonder if democrats want someone different so badly, that they could actually discriminate against the best candidate based on his whiteness and maleness.

I am having a tough time with this election. I see a lot of similarities in the candidates on their positions. Their personalities, though, are quite different.

I just can't believe it's all come down to a race/gender issue. And I'm afraid that it has.

Gravatar I think John Edwards was drowned in a sea of silence by the media. Each time he appeared in the debates, where they had to broadcast him, his polls went up. I believe the media made movie stars out of Hillary and Barack.

We must undo the monopolies in the media. It's dangerous for democracy.
