Gravatar When you posted the first motif of the crown, a number of different images and ideas appeared to me. I think the first idea that appeared was that the motif appeared to be Madonna-like or goddess-like. I believe that the little yarn overs which form hands have a Madonna-goddess like gesture. However, this only occurs at the transition to the center motif, which I think is very interesting. The other crown images, given the color and the simple shapes, remind me of frescoes in Crete and in Pompeii. The shapes and color remind me specifically of Minoan art. The crown (and decreases which are very effective) suggest the Minoan Feathered Prince to me. This may not be on target with Medea's time period or geography. However, the very warm red and the shapes suggest an ancient fresco. I love the complexity and the layers of possible meanings and associations. It is very beautiful!

Gravatar Thank you! The shapes look vaguely Minoan to me also.
