Gravatar I really appreciate the topics you cover in your blog because you are sensitive to the quality of the space in which psychotherapy occurs. Your posting here reminds me of how years ago my therapist said to me that she and her business partner purposely sought out offices that used to be homes. I don't remember what more she said, but this notion has stuck with me. She's moved two times since and each time I felt involved in the moving process in that I took photos of her at the old place and she took photos of me there as well. At her new office she always gave me a tour so I would know what the place was like.

I have scrap booked the photos we've taken. I have been a bit embarrassed about this at times and removed the pages when the books were out at my wedding. The pages quickly found their way back into the book because I like the idea that my therapy home is a part of my history.

Gravatar I wish more therapists paid attention to the significance of their space because it is very much a part of the work as a whole. I like your notion of therapy home.
