Gravatar I have a different take than what was quoted here from Scientific American. I see boredom as having the potential to be a very good thing. For me when boredom sets in it can be a sign that I can be with myself or with another person without having to do anything about it or to occupy myself with a distraction. It can be a sign that I am close to relaxation or that I have sidestepped an unhelpful neurosis. I wonder if over time the feeling of boredom subsides as I get more comfortable being with my new habits.
