Any objective advice on what to do if the termination is more sudden than expected (2 sessions before a move out of the area) and the patient still feels a strong attachment to the shrink? What can be done to try to wean yourself off a strong connection you'd rather not let go of? (And finding another shrink in the new residence is not an option.)
Ask about finishing via telephone to see you through the move.
He's a strictly in-person shrink.
It's been a few months now and I think it's just something I will have to learn to deal with.
