for the record, I worked things out with the good Dr. and got him back his posting privilages

I've never had a problem with PO's opinions, just the way he interacted with the people commenting on my blog

Jeff is absolutely NOT a dick. He doesn't kick people off for their opinions, he just doesn't want an envirnoment where people are attacking fellow posters. That sounds like a very good person with a cool blog to me.
