Good comments.... The Hawks currently are the second worst team in the NBA qucikly losing ground to the rising the Hornets. Not a good sign when we can't hold a lead against them. It is sad.

When it comes right down to it, our starters shouldn't start. Allen, Jefferson, Perkins (yes I said Perkins), Pierce and a point guard should get the nod, with Ricky first off the bench. And leave them in there. Right now we aren't even in the playoffs, so let the kids get some experience, make a trade, grow and develop. Come June we might still be playing with the kids running it, but definitely won't be with Blount McCarty and Welsch hogging minutes.

yeah, you're right about the starters. I still like Raef, who I think at least does nothing to hurt you on the floor, but leaving him out there with Blount is asking too much from him when it comes to rebounding.

By the way RDF, nice call on getting more minutes for Tony A. I say they ship Jiri and Payton out before the deadline.

What an enraging weekend. If now is not the time to blow it up and start the young guys like RDfan suggests, when is?

Something must be done - starting Allen was a great start. Here's an idea - KEEP HIM IN!!!! The guy does no wrong and somehow plays little in the 2nd half.

Agreed. 20 points in fairly limited minutes is great in the NBA for any player. I like Raef too. His contract is just awful, but you are right he plays hard when he can and always contributes, usually a double double. He is a solid guy to have on the team. It is just unfortunate when Jiri gets subbed in for him when "small ball" starts.

The trade deadline is coming up though, we'll see what Danny has up his sleeve.

I tend to agree with your comments about the game. Grant the Hawks some credit though. NBA leads of all sizes are no longer safe and they played a very solid second half. This was more then just a Celtics meltdown.
And, I thought it was an interesting to note that most of the exciting plays and some of the best showings came from the young guys on both teams (i.e. Allen, Perkins, Jefferson, Childress, and Smith).

YES! the Suns are interested in Waltuh! Lets wrap him up and send him right out. No need to send us anything in return!! In fact, walter should be bundled with a fruit basket.

this is the best Celtics news I've heard since Rick Pitino went with the team to Miami and never came back. Please make this happen! I swear to God this guy gives me headaches every fucking time he's on the floor.

why are people at Celticsblog talking about how great a person Walter is? Who the fuck cares? These people don't know him, have no idea what goes on behind the scenes, and base this whole "Waltah is a quality guy" theory on the fact that it's been shoved down their throats by Heinsohn and the offical Celtics website for the past 7 years. Bullshit. Trade the fucker for nothing.

Hey Doc, slow down a bit.... You sound a little worked up. They just like his personality, and that kicking R&B album he put out How can you trade that type of guy for one who doesn't sing?

In all seriousness, he needs to go. So does Blount. Immediately. We have to get the cap down over the next two years in order to resign Jefferson and Allen. I think they are going to be great players (although alot of people are questioning Allen, which I don't get because Jordan gave Allen his personal seal of approval). Pierce and Raef are going to chew up half our cap for the next several years... we need money!

DNP for Waltah! Maybe he'll write a shitty R&B song about it and play it for his new teammates on the Phoenix Suns.

RickyDFan, Doc still should have played yr boy Tony A more tonight. I've completely jumped onto the anti-Jiri bandwagon.
