A win is a win.... That's all I have to say. Although there is some big talk that McCarty is on the next bus out of town, and Payton could be going with him headed to the desert. I can't say i would be sad to see it. If Payton won't resign next year then I don't see a reason to keep him (we aren't winning any titles right now anyway).
Delonte is going to get some minutes soon, don't worry about that. I think Marcus might be on the showcase circuit right now. Unless he moves to a 2 guard, he has very little value to the team. And even then, you can't pass it to him because he is going to sit on the ball for the rest of the night. He might actually just take it and leave the court, "It's my ball and I'm going home" seems to ring out when he gets his touches...
As you know, the only thing that would top getting rid of Waltah would be getting rid of Waltah AND Banks. He's a headcase and even when he remembers to pass the ball, the team never gets into a good flow with him on the court.
I agree with you on the Payton thing, I don't see why people think it's important he stays. He's been great, but there's no way he stays beyond the season, and even then his physical skills are in such decline the pretty soon he's not going to be much more than Kenny Anderson with a better resume. Trade him for what you can get, wish him well, play the young guys and accept the fact that we aren't going anywhere this year.
2 for 10 last night, and 1 for 9 a couple of games ago. I would agree that his skills are going. Playing West at the point with Banks as his back up should give us a pretty good idea if one of them can handle the job. If not, we should have enough picks to bundle up and draft a good point; or trade Blount and someone with a little value for a good point guard. Baron Davis would be my first choice, but I just can't see how that would happen.
