If we wait too long, who are we going to lose? Idiots. Nice write up, I agree about the Nets, they're good when Kidd is healthy no matter who is on the team. They're bad when he is hurt, no matter who is on the team.

It's time to let Antoine walk(er). He falls apart during clutch time. I don't know what kind of "bargains" are still out there, don't think there's much. Since we didn't get Soreass, if looks like we're sticking with the kids. I agree, Cleveland and Houston look like the winners in free agency.

We should just sign and trade Toine, Blount, Raef, and Vin's contract to a Euro league team for anyone.
Boy this team is gonna suck this coming year. Basically our 'future' was on a stacked summer league team, and they still lost twice. Perk and ALjeff looked worse than a drunk Blount and Toine. I mean, even Blount dominated the summerleague years back. What the hell is fucking wrong with Perkins? He should have obliterated any matchup he had. Jefferson looked worse than Kwambe Brown out there, literally playing at Darko level.

thanks Willie. That's my fear as well - there is no "bargain price" for a guy who's going to fuck yr team up.

Two fantastic posts in a row. You guys really are turning into a classy site (sort of). It is going to be one heck of a season at the very least around the NBA. Some of the premier franchises are falling over and some consistent losers are starting to look like they could actually contend for something. San An is still going to tear heads off, and Detroit won't be too bad either, but they don't look nearly as scary as some of the others that are gelling and adding real talent (Houston, Cavs, Nets, etc...). While those guys might not win it all, they are going to keep someone else for doing it as well.

Interesting stuff posted on other sites about possible trade ideas and the growing thought of blowing up the team to let the raw talent develop and weed itself out of the schmucks (used in the fullest sense of the word www.urbandictionary.com for those of you not in the know).
Here is my challenge for everyone (no prize, sorry). What is your prediction for the five slots in the Atlantic Division at the end of next season?
Mine:
1. New Jersey - They have some serious roster upgrades and a healthy Jefferson can put up points.
2. Philly - Webber gets his groove back, both AI's continue dominating when they are on the floor and Dalembert signs and continues being the rebounding machine we only dream of Blount turning into.
3. Heres the catch. If Green can really contribute and Big Al turns into a starter, we get the 3 spot (with or without Pierce). If they need more development years rather than months, we slide to 4.
4. New York Knicks, its just so sad with all that money I am not getting any of it. So sad.
5. Toronto. Ummm... Basketball in Canada was a fun expirement, but it might be time to pull the plug. It just keeps getting uglier and uglier up there.

Maybe I'm looking through green tinted glasses, but I think we're ahead of Philly. As much as I hate Jersey, I admit they have done the most to improve themselves in the off season. We can't even say for certainty who our starting lineup is at almost every postition.

great idea RickyDFan. I think mine are
Philly - with OBrien gone there's an opportunity to work CWebb into the offense. Plus the young guys got some dough from management and the whole team has an air of redemption about them. I hate to say, but I think they take it.
New Jersey - if Kidd stays healthy they win it with ease. My guess is Kidd goes down.
God the rest is just a three way race for last...
Knicks - I hate the fucking Knicks and the Nets with all my heart so it's tough to put them ahead of us, but...
Celtics - this team has complete meltdown written all over it. Unless(!) PP is moved or AW sign and trade nets us a great point guard, we are going to struggle, big time. Don't get me wrong, we're on the right path, but this year could leave a lot of blood on the floor. Goal #1 for us this year - figure out which of the young dudes is a future starter.
Raptors - Charlie and the "Fuck It" Factory. Poor Chris Bosh - looks like an ugly dinosaur and stuck up in Toronto.

Hahah!! Charlie and the fuck-it factory!! That's great. Toronto keeps making one bad move after another. Maybe our youngsters have a season like Chicago did last year, but other than that you are spot on with the melt down.

The youngsters step up like the baby Bulls only if Pierce goes. If he stays, they will never get the ball.

No more trash talking big deal crap. Time to play tough hard nosed basketball, I think the youngs will be up to it. Get rid of Blount, Walker, and maybe even Pierce, unless he gets his shit together.

I don't have to check out dick, willie, to see that Pierce stagnats the offence, loafs on D, doesn't run and has a deplorable attitude.
Do they have mopes per minute statistics? Or how about a stat on the number of times Pierce boards and doesn’t outlet? Can you quantify his attitude and the effect on a young and impressionable team?

My favorite statistic on Pierce is knife wounds to championships.... It isn't an NBA.com stat yet, but it should be....
