The point guard situation is definitely the #1 problem. Why didn't we use the full MLE and get Soreass? We're gonna have to pull off a trade, even if it means getting rid of some good young talent. Right now, we're in the same situation as Rock Hudson's asshole.

The way Dickau's playing, he shouldn't even make the team, let alone compete for a starting spot. If we end up with Andre Miller I'm going to be pissed. Soreass or even Mike James would be a better option than what we've got now.

It really is pathetic that we're two weeks away from the season and we don't know who the point guard is. If Dickau is cut, we still have to pay him, don't we? I can't remember the last time the Celtics had a top ten point guard.

The best name Ii've heard Dan called is Ickau, because there is no D in Dickau.

I'm a Dickau defender, and he has looked horrible. It’s one thing to be schooled by the very talented Hinrich, but Mike James? West should start and Greene backup at this point.
Nene, Miller for Pierce isn’t looking so bad.

PO, did you see the Fox Sports promos that were ostensibly for the Celtics as a team but featured only Ricky D in the highlights? Either our man Pierce's days are numbered, or this is some scheme to relieve him of the burdens of leadership. I suppose a trade does both. To Dallas for Van Horn's expiring contract? Pierce and Blount for Van Horn and Daniels? Throw in Yogi Stewart's expiring contract (hahaha)?

Come on guys... We've got five players at the 1!! We should all be excited, except that not one of them can play a lick of basketball. 3 out of 5 of our big men should be working at Del Taco and not in the NBA (I can picture Blount just screaming "Fresh Fish Taco"). Other than that, the team looks great.
I still think (and I said it last season too), Ricky should be our starting point guard. He is fast, has handle and isn't selfish. Maybe his passes aren't that crisp, and his court vision isn't that of Magic, but right now he is 10x better than the next option. Also a back court of Pierce (playing at the 2) and Ricky has to be one of the better in the league, and would cause huge match up problems with guards around the rest of the league.

RDFan, who's the backup pg? Who's your second unit prime scorer? I think you've got an interesting concept, if the C's are going in that direction they better use the rest of the preseason to test out these new lineups. RickyD at point would open up time for some of the other guys we need to get on the court (not Ickau or Scalaburine).

I think Ricky will drop dead of exhaustion if he's got to defend quick pg's AND play 40 mins a game, AND account for his usual part of the scoring load. I feel bad saying this, but with the way the team is currently constituted, he should go back to the bench and try to average 20 a night. Until PP is traded, of course...

I guess the back up for a Ricky point would be Dickau or West at this time. Maybe Dicky can get the scoring going, or somebody would have to step up and start knocking down jump shots and taking it into the block. Maybe a few multiplayer trades for some guys who can actual ball would be in order.

According to a Celtics Blog commentator and Fox Sports,
Banks is out for 6 weeks.
Now the Celtics don't have anyone who can bring a half court offense to a screeching halt - oh woe is them.
Well, it gives Greene a chance to
replace Banks, even his lack of outside shooting.

haha, isn't it Chris Wall-ass-holehurtz?
WOTR, sad day when we all lament Marcus Banks being unable to play, but I guess that's the latest surprise of The Vision. What's next, the return of Dirk Minnifeld? How long can Ainge's latest free-agent triumph continue to be exposed as that rarest of animals - the honky stiff under 6'9" with a long-term guarenteed contract?
