Gravatar Dickau played well in the second half as did some of the other bench players (Jefferson). Veal sucks, he needs to be put out to pasture.

Love the idea of Cheif taking over for Dicklesson, that guy is a scourge on humanity by all that is evil in the universe.

Gravatar Five more years of Scalaburine? Sounds like a prison sentence. He and Dickerson deserve each other. Speaking of Pau, I love it when a pussy thinks he'll look tough just by growing a beard. Fuck Scalaburine.

Gravatar Gomes and AJ looked great in the fourth, nice to see some fucking energy.

Nice job by Ricky!

Gomes has to start. Ricky must come off the bench. Scal must die.

Gravatar Kind of funny that your last article was about how Pierce is a choker and then he drops his best stat line in a long time and seals the deal with two clutch shots and sweet dish to Ricky for the open jumper.

Gravatar Willie - we live to motivate

Gravatar He must read us, he actually passed the ball!

Gravatar If you put Ricky back into the second unit - WE DON'T WIN ANOTHER GAME!!!

With no Payton, the point is freed up on our opposition, they can guard Pierce. Right now they have to help on Ricky. This way the center is forced to get in the lane on Pierce, freeing up Blount at the top of the key to make his sexy little 15 footer.

You put Ricky on the second unit, his scoring goes down because five guys have to shut him down. Pierce's scoring goes way down, because everybody can focus on him (please, Kobe ain't gonna watch Gomes) and Blunt becomes a non-factor. If you put even a halfway decent big man on Blount he won't hit a shot the entire game. Couple that with his absolute inability to rebound (a shocking and mind numbing feat considering little TJ Ford at 5 foot nuthin managed to grab 9 boards the other night), and you have Blount of last year.

We are better with the starting five we've got as long as they can stay healthy and rested for the season (playing 44 minutes a night isn't going to help that out though).

Gravatar I respectfully disagree, RDfan. First of all, you correctly state that Ricky and Paul cannot play 40+ minutes every night. You need at least a few guys to play major minutes besides the starters.

Ricky does not look comfortable in the beginning of games with the first unit. Much of the time, we establish Blount’s mid-range game early. Do you think teams are going to double Blount because Ricky isn’t there? Offense will still be Pierce-oriented, but that’s the way it is with or without Ricky.

If Ricky comes off the bench with AJ, you have two very talented offensive options. Ricky gets his shots wherever and whenever he wants them, which is his job – score.

As it stands, Ricky plays several minutes, never really getting into the flow, and then sits a few to play with the second unit. I don’t mind it so much, but I think he would be more valuable coming off the bench in the first place.

Gravatar yeah, I agree PO. I'm seeing a team that becomes completely unravelled everytime the 2nd unit comes in, and it seems like Ricky has some trouble re-intergrating with those guys after his short rest. Maybe the stats will show that I'm wrong, but it's just a feeling I get. I wonder what the rotation would be had Tony Allen not decided to value his rep in the hood over his rep with the Chicago DA's office.

Gravatar The 2nd unit doesn't have to be a liability if you get the right fucking guys in there. How about Big Al, Gomes, Perk, Greene/Dickau and Pierce/Davis. You gotta give Al 30+ minutes; hell, give him all of Scalabrine's minutes. You can work in Reed in there, and when TA and MB come back, you've got two more candidates for the second unit.

Gravatar I appreciate the disagreement, and the arguement for him coming off the bench. It may work, I hope it does, or something does.

Our Atlantic division competition is on the ropes right now. If we can string together 5 or 6 wins right now, we can deliver them a knock out blow for the season. Unfortunately we aren't playing the easiest of teams this weekend...

Gravatar Yeah, RickyDF, it makes that Bobcats loss feel all the worse. If we accomplish nothing else this season but learning how to beat the teams you're supposed to beat, it'll be a big step forward.

Gravatar This is the playoff picture for the Eastern Conference right now... The last place Central team (the Bulls) makes it over us (the second place Atlantic division team). I expect the real playoff roster to look something similar to this. Which is why it is either third seed or no seed at all...
