Who is responsible?
This team is an embarassment to all involved. Let those who assembled these bums be dragged out to the street.

This team is quickly becoming a joke. Blount goes from the doghouse to the penthouse based on what? 31 minutes of playing time compared to 15 for Perk and 12 for Al. Rivers is going to ruin these youngsters and this team. It's time for him to go.

Both young big guys played well, but not enough.
Take the training wheels off. I suppose your trying to protect them, but they need the experience.

Negative Jeff is even worse than positive Jeff.
While its nice to see Jeff “borrowing” themes similar to those aired everyday by Doom contributors, his “rants” are just simplistic conclusions on easy targets. Wow, take on Blount and Doc, big man. Now that 80% of Celtic fandom are against those two fucks. Who’s next, Gomes?
And on Doc, beside Jeff, did anyone have a problem with Doc benching a guy who isn’t playing well without explanation? I know I didn’t. It’s the first thing he’s done right in a year and a half, why would he have to explain his benching to anyone – never mind the shithead he benched.

so are we becoming the Blog of Record for this shitty team? I'd rather the Kool-Aid'ers were right, frankly, I'm getting sick of watching mediocre players play badly and being coached ineptly. Watching Dickau last night I actually found myself thinking, "too bad we don't have Marcus." These are hard times.

This team sucks. Fucking awful. Ricky is the only one that even had a remotely decent game. Paul looks bored out there... 14.5 Million will do that to you, I guess. Jefferson started scoring again, but went out with a concussion.
It doesn't fucking matter. We played the Magic. THE MAGIC! These guys are lottery bound. They out played us. We are definitely lottery bound. We suck so bad that we shouldn't even make the lottery... Honestly right now we can't be better than 22nd in the NBA and that is a stretch.

The whole team is getting pathetic. You can't not show up and expect to win... Even against bullshit teams. New Orleans is ranked higher than us, and deservedly so. Houston, while worse than us in the overall standings, is still a team that can beat the shit out of our beloved Celtics. If they don't get their shit together we are seriously facing a top five draft spot.

From ESPN Insider - Will Perdue
Now, about these Celtics. Who's the leader? Not sure if it's Pierce. The word around here says Pierce is doing a much better job leading, but it's troubling to see his lack of eye contact with his coach, Doc Rivers, during the game Monday. During timeouts and breaks, you find him looking away and looking down. Teammates pick up on that. And this from the man you're looking to be your leader. Not good.
Doc's tried that "tough love" by benching starting center Mark Blount last week for a game, hoping the other guys take notice. One thing about the Celtics is they don't have veteran presences this year like Gary Payton and Antoine Walker -- not necessarily vocal guys, but ones who know how to play.
With the Celtics, you wonder: Do they have enough proven talent, or are they putting too much stock in potential? However, the Celtics (5- play in the Atlantic Division, so they're not necessarily going to sink to the bottom. If they were in the Central, they could be ticketed for last place.
(Is Pierce doing to Rivers in Boston, wehat McGrady did to him in Orlando?)

yeah, Ray, it wouldn't surprise me if it eventually turns into a "me or him" thing. Pierce isn't going to want to play for a losing team AND a coach he hates. Tough to read the dynamic this year though. My guess is Pierce would rather leave the Celtics entirely and play for a championship, as this befits his heady opinion of himself.

At this point... Who wouldn't rather leave the Celtics to play for a championship? Or for fucking Milwaukee right now? We suck.
A real litmus test is coming up in the next few games. Two division opponents, one being the terrible knicks. A team that pulled our skirt up last year showing us what a real youth movement looked like, and what our did (Chi-town). The ugliest team in the league, that we embarrassed, that should kick the living daylights out of us (HOU) and finally the vastly over-achieving Hornets.
If we lose to the Rockets, Hornets and New York, it doesn't matter what we do to Philly and Chi, this thing is going to explode. Either someone upstairs pulls the trigger on Pierce for kitty litter trade, or Doc finds himself on Causeway Street wondering why his employee badge doesn't work anymore.
I think Doc is out first, and then Ricky is traded to off load LaFrentz or Blount for someone who can rebound. Pierce just fucks us in a year and a half by signing with someone else and leaving us empty-handed (so we chase a mediocre free agent for top dollar).
Anyone else's thoughts?

sounds about right. After carrying the load of this crappy franchise and their shitty coaches, ownership, and front office, Pierce has every right to want to go somewhere to play for a championship. It's not like he's Mork Hunt and thinks he's an all star, Pierce is a great player. he should go to Minnesota and team with Garnett. Wonder if their is any shot of him landing with the Lakers.

"wondering why his employee badge doesn't work anymore." hahaha, that happened to me once.
Yeah, a loss to the Knicks would be the biggest sign of irrevocable implosion. I just wonder who stands where in the Danny/Wyc/Doc triumverate. Is it Wyc and Danny against Doc? Is it Wyc against Doc and Danny? Like, is Danny toast too?

Good question! I always think that the former Celtic players are untouchable but this could prove to be Danny's stumbling block. I think he might end up in another organization though. He still has friends around the league, and there is more than enough demand for coaching.
Maybe Wyc should can both of them and send a strong message. Win or your out.

It started off as a joke, but some people liked the idea. I don't. But I am starting to really not like this team. Team is a little extreme actually. How about a collection a young men who all wear similar clothing and convene in a similar location every now and then. That is probably the best description of them.

Simmons has the Celtics in the Rudy Gay sweepstakes at 26 - Hat Tip Celtics Blog
26. Boston
They have Paul Pierce and Ricky Davis playing the best ball of their respective careers, they're finishing up a November stretch that included 10 home games and four road games ... and if they lose tonight, they'll be 5-9. Yikes. You might not see them win again until Christmas week -- just wait until Pierce gets frustrated and stops playing as hard. Let's just say that I'm not happy. At all. Unless Al Jefferson emerges as a legitimate low-post threat over the next few weeks, there's a chance this could become the second-worst team in franchise history. I will now perform a prostate exam on myself.

Yeah... I think you are right PO. If he is truly a competitor he is going to want off this team fast. There are no shortage of teams struggling that wouldn't mind adding Pierce to the roster. HOU, DEN and MIN come to mind as they have a hole at SG/SF and real complimentary players (meaning we won't get Garnett, Ming or Carmelo for you Celticsblog readers out there).
Miami needs another slasher that can board, and everybody knows Pierce and Toine like to be together, they could look. We aren't going to get shit for him anyway so we might as well make his departure pleasant (he is worth a lot, but no team with another marquee player will give that player up to get Pierce). So a pick or two, a young stud and Yogi Stewart's ghost might be the best thing for us right now.

A glimmer of hope emerged last night. You want toughness, rebounding, energy? Play fucking Perk!! Holy shit, Coc, why have you been torturing us? You want defense on the opposing point guard? Let Greene replace West in the rotation!! This isn't rocket science, Coc, now go to your office and invent the wheel.

haha, he'd fuck that up too. I missed the entire first half last night, so I couldn't do a recap, but he had more rebounds in the second half than Blount has had in an entire game this year. Very encouraging. I don't know why it didn't happen sooner, it wasn't like he had a bad pre-season. It seemed pretty obvious to everyone here that he deserved minutes.

Celticsblog is going to start giving out awards to deserving recipients, modeled after Tommypoints, and they're calling them Shamrocks. In the counterculture of celticsdoomblogspot.com, may I humbly suggest that this site come out with an award of its' own. Worthy recipients will receive an emblem resembling a pigs' dick, the official celticsdoom award to be known as the Hamcock. May I nominate Coc Rivers as last nights inaguaral Hamcock award winner, for making us suffer Morkunt for the first 13 games of the season, while our best rebounder, shot blocker, and defensive presense languished on the bench.
