Danny Granger is a hell of a player. I wish the Pacers drafted Green and the Celts were left with Granger.
yeah Willie, Granger or Joey Graham would have been great picks had they been available. There's a reason Gerald Green slid so far, and I think we all know what it is... he ain't too good.
Dr, I don't think you can make that statement yet. Green could be the next Jordan... Or Kobe. Or Lenny Cooke. You really can't tell until he suits up. The problem is that Doc who has said in the past he doesn't like playing young guys, won't put him in. Part of that is because Green hasn't reached puberty yet, the could be because Doc won't play 18 year olds.
Green could be very good, but the only to tell, and have him develop, is to put him against NBA players. If you don't play the kid no one is ever going to know.
Yeah I know RickyD, I shouldn't damn this guy, but I just don't have a good feeling about him, and I think guys who slide usually do for good reason. He went from projected at #3 or #5 to #18. His agent refused to let him work out for the Blazers. He seems kind of clumsy and very passive on the court. It just strikes me as all very smoke and mirrors with him.
But yr point is well taken, he needs to see some time before we judge, and there is no point to watching this team drown beneath the .500 line without getting a sense of how good/bad the young players might be.
I think it's kind of funny that Danny was praised as a draft genius for the last draft, yet the two players he got praise for drafting are not playing.
