Chicago has said they want a big name guy... Somebody has to want him for something worth getting. It is ridiculous we are still trying to win games rather than develop talent. Gomes and Reed se little time and Blount and Raef get a bunch. Sorry to say it, but they aren't getting any better as they age.

As much as I really want to see bold moves, I just don't think it's going to happen, unfortunately. I don't think the owners have the stomach for a true rebuilding process, and because of that I would be we're trying to get Artest for Ricky. That would be a terrible trade, IMO, for many reasons, among them the idea of Doc coaching Artest should make us all very nervous. I like Ron-Ron, and would in most cases want him on my team, but we need to go backward before we go forward, and getting Artest is obviously not that kind of move. Again though, I would bet the general idea is "keep Pierce happy" and we'll make some disasterously short sighted move within the next few weeks.
Dr. Chestnutt, I have been looking for info on the knicks trade for Curry since our talk and everywhere I read it says the '06 pick is conditional, though it does not say the conditions. In addition, I have seen nothing of the Knicks giving up a pick to the Suns from the Thomas deal, though they still owe one from the Marbury deal I believe to be used later. Perhaps they do have more picks then we originally discussed. Don't cash in on a possible Knicks pick from the Bulls yet, it may not be there unless they do better then top-3.

All I'm saying is this - I heard Isiah Thomas on the radio saying that he wasn't worried about the lottery pick he gave up, because the best player he could get in the draft wasn't better than Eddy Curry. You're right, it's probably top-3. Nonetheless, I'd still make the trade as I'm sure the protection is lost in the 2nd year.
Eveything is there for a chicago trade, this must happen.
