This is why it's so important to get rid of Coc and Morkunt immediately. We have some really quality young players/human beings on this team. For them to get tainted my Coc and Morkunt would be a crime of unforgiveable dimensions. A lineup of Perk, Al, DWest, Pierce, and RD with Allen, Raef, Orien, Reed, and Marcus off the bench (with just a sprinkle of Scalaburine and maybe Gomes) is a watchable bunch.

We are all obviously setting up Perk and Jefferson for failure, but what I love about Perk is linked to the same limitations he has as a player - rebound, block shots, don't be Mark Blount. That's all I need, and it's all I hope anyone expects from him. Your fantasy about him articulating the unspoken anti-Pierce sentiment amongst the Celtics is tempting but probably hyperbole - this is a man, after all, who claims that Mark Blount is his main inspiration as a player. You and I are petty people who invest our personal energies into the kinds of office politics we wish existed on the Celtics, but I imagine the Celtics being more of a collection of lemmings who have fully bought into the idea that Ricky and Paul are big-time NBA stars. The object of collective derision in this scenario is most likely Doc Rivers (except for Delonte and Tony Allen who obviously love him).
