At least he can hit foul shots.
In case you missed it, Ainge spun the 2008 1st rounder because he has determined that the 08 draft was going to be deep. Holy fuck! You have to have fucking balls to spin that.
Hard to imagine Ricky coudn't get you more. Ainge also said on EEI that they were in discussions about Artest right up until he was traded to Sac. Guess this was the fallback.

Love this trade. Ricky and Pierce have mirror image games and, like siamese twins, should be more effective split up. Except of course when they share a head or vital organ and one of them doesn't survive the operation. Back on point, PP should thrive, and Wally will be deadly sitting on the perimeter and hitting open jumpers when Pierce drives and dishes off. Pierce moves back to guard, where he can prevent more mismatch ups. The other guys are the ten pounds of crap needed to fill the five pound bag required to make a deal fit the salary cap.
Ricky is a good sixth man fit for a good team (which Minny isn't). His strenghth is coming off the bench for 15 points, but in Boston he scored more because he played too much and hogged the ball.

I'm still not a big Szczerbiak fan, I'd have rather seen us send Ricky to Denver for Watson. Our PG is the problem. Get a real PG, move Delonte to the 2, and you up your BBall IQ at both positions.

Hey, 2008 is when my wife says she'll let me fuck her in the ass, so I guess both me and Danny boy are looking ahead to that glorious year. Trading Morkunt only solves half the problem in playing Al and Perk together, Coc still has Raef and now Candy Man to play so he can show us all he's still the boss. Larry Bird, Robert Parish, and Kevin McHale could all walk through that door in the primes of their careers, and this idiot head coach of ours with the sobriquet of Coc would lead that unit to a sub .500 record. Fuck Coc, Fuck Coc, Fuck Coc.

Don't worry I will never ever become a WallyZfan. He sucks... His production is going to drop off significantly not being around Garnett. Pierce is much too much of an outside player to free up the perimeter. Wally is now going to have to contend with same-size SFs and PFs trying to guard him rather than the shortys. Try hitting 3's @ 41% with a hand in your face. Not going to happen. I would be shocked if his numbers stay consistent. Worse yet, he doesn't drive like Ricky does and plays less defense. Not too mention that the highest paid white guys in all of sports not named Beckham are on the Celtics right now. Awful choices made by Danny.
Incidentally, I think we signed Bynum to play point again (two contracts in 5 months from us), meaning Gerald Green is staying put in Fayatville for a long time.

I just saw that thing on Bynum... what the fuck, the guy couldn't beat out Orien Greene in the preseason. Now he's going to get minutes while GG fucks around in the NBDL. Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh.

It just isn't smart GM-ing... Plain and simple. I don't know what to say. A team paying Wally and Raef 25 million a year is NOT going to win a championship. There is no 3 year or even a five year plan. We are screwed until at least 2010.

We still need to get Keith Van Horn and Austin Croshere. I'm sure Danny's working on it.

I'm white(ish) I'll play. I am slow, don't play good defense, lazy, I can't along with a care-bear and I occassionally make open threes in my rec league. So fuck it, I am the exact player Danny is looking for. I won't play for less than 15 million though...

For what we are paying Wally we could get (yeah, I know rookie contracts, etc...):
1. Gordon, Duhon, Deng and Hinrich
2. Lamar Odom
3. 3 LeBron James (now that team would win some championships)
4. Everyone on the Hawks except JJ
5. 6 Tayshaun Princes
6. Ben Wallace and Chauncey Billups
7. Ginobli and Bowen
8. Tinsley, Saras and Fred Jones
9. 2 Ron Artests
10. A million Lenny Cookes
I would rather see a contingent of shitty players that are off the cap soon than that guy....

Well, I guess we really are the green and white. RickyD Fan, are you going to change to WallyS Fan? If Wally's game looks sleepy, should we call him Wally Szzzerbiak? My most important overall assessment is we picked up some valuable titty meat, but lost some nipple mass. Of course, if we ever lose Scalaburine, we become the smallest tittied team in the league.

Hey,
I just found this blog. It's really funny, I've spent the morning chuckling away, I even read some of the archives.
I just wanted to say how fucking ecstatic I am that Mark Blount is gone. How did I despise him, let me count the ways. And how unimaginably brain-dead is McHale for thinking that stiff of stiffs can contribute in any way, shape or form whatsover? About the trade - I liked Ricky D, but getting rid of him solves the problem of Doc's inexplicable fixation for having him on the floor a gazillion minutes a game wtf was that all about, anyway? I like WS because they say he's intelligent and tough, and of course can shoot lights out. The Celts were just too unbearably stupid with Pierce and RD as their leaders and Mark "touches" Blount sucking the life out of them. Also, another addition by subtraction was Marcus Banks, only Blount possibly matched him in utter rock-like stupidity. I don't know if we saw enough of JR - I liked what little I saw of him - but they had to toss that fool McHale a bone for being such a mark. Btw, I know the developmental league is just that, but the Jones guy is averaging 9 points and 11 rebounds a game and is a shot blocker to boot, so his upside is unknown at this point. If he actually is good, with Perk and Al you might just have the makings of another big three. And a number #1 to boot? Why? How? I love this trade. It has a lot of intriguing aspects to it, at the very least.

welcome Chris, glad to have another Doom-er aboard. I agree with you on McHale's idiocy in picking up Blount, I almost wonder if it's a favor he's doing for his pal Danny before he gets his ass fired. Perhaps he's looking forward to a gig as yet another Celtics assistant coach.
