The new chemistry against the Kings actually looked better than one would think after dumping your 2nd and 3d scoring options. Perk might have had a triple, had Doc not taken him out.
Lastly the post-up and pick and roll looked great between Lafrentz and Wally, so I'm sure Doc could design a play with Pierce and Wally doing the same thing.

Chestnutt and I were talking about Ricky the other day, and while I'm fine with the trade, it does suck to see him go. Remember how fucking BORING this team used to be pre-Ricky? Toine, PP and Rodney Rodger hoisting up threes, no athletes, no excitment. Ricky was a breath of fresh air for a stale franchise.
He also showed that the city would embrace a black athlete with cornrows and a bad rep. I'll do a proper farewell to Ricky when I have time (during work tomorrow).
my beef with the trade is that we ditched one of our most productive players without addressing our glaring need - a real point guard. Ricky for Earl Watson would have made more sense, but who knows if that was even possible. We knew getting rid of Blount, however, was going to cost us, so I suppose it's lame to bitch about it. So much of the Ricky story exists off the court, in both good and bad ways, and this trade seems to have been more about those things than anything else.
The NYDaily News is reporting that this clears the way for a Pierce trade, which I find highly unlikely. No sense in it now, you can't build around Wally and the Youth, not even Wyc could keep a straight face trying to sell that.
Reggie Evans is on the market, a guy who will certainly make the all-CelticsDoom squad at the end of the year. That cat is super tough, wish we could get him. The rest of the all-CD team, by the way, will be the Chicago Bulls and Ray Allen.
