I'll say it again, there must have been epic off-the-court shit going on to have forced this trade. Ricky probably wore out his welcome by not buying into Doc's nonsense, a situation that makes him all the more likeable. On the other hand, no one on the team seemed real shocked or sad to see him go.
An interesting side note that's not been discussed - Justin Reed and Pierce were very close, almost to the degree that Reed seemed to be PP's Gunga Din, and PP in turn provided him with credibility by constantly praising his defense. Gomes is too smart and has too much self-respect to fill that role. Interesting is all I'm saying, interesting...

If that's not an invitation for another anti-Pierce conspiracy piece, I don't know what is!

Thanks. I still don't know how much off the court was happening. I think Danny had figured out that in order to move Blout or LaFrentz he had to give up Ricky or a young kid. I am sure there was other stuff happening, but I can't see it being that overwhelming. He was still playing more minutes than anybody else (a role Wally seems to have just slipped into nicely).

I saw that shit. GOOD! That's all I have to say. Banks had a lot of potential and Doc wasn't using him right. We all knew Ricky and Blount can score, but no one ever saw him grab boards like he did tonight. Even Reed played decent. The real question is, if the Celtics can't get up for this game what game do they get up for?

My most recent posting to all those begging to keep Pierce and the rest of the team is this:
For all those that want to resign Pierce, let me pitch you this...
In 08-09, we will be paying $40 million to Pierce ($15 est), Lafrentz ($13. and Wally ($12.4). If the cap goes up to $60 million, and we sign Perkins to a $7 million deal (market ei Blount, Dalembert, most big men) and Al to an $8 million deal (someone would pay that), that leaves us FIVE MILLION DOLLARS to field the rest of the team... Anybody think West, Allen, Greene, Green and Gomes will all play for a million a piece? Nope... Didn't think so.
That didn't even take into consideration Scabs contract. If you think Raef is going to walk away from his big payoff, you are on crack.

jerky, there is a post about Rivers not signing off on this trade over at Celtic-Nation in the Doc must go thread. I'm not a member, can you ask the guy how he knows this?

He doesn't, he's speculating. He used the stupid IMO, in my opinion.
It took me forever to figure out some of those chatroom shortcuts.
