Penny one - Will the people over at the "other" fan site ever realize there is more than one team in the NBA?? They hear the Francis is being shipped to Denver and automatically we must be involved... I am seriously begining to believe they don't know that there are two conferences and 32 teams. They only know of one. Which luckily for the Celtics, they can the rest of the season and these "fans" still will think they are in first place. I have seen great Celtic teams, championship teams, teams in green that play with heart, honor and determination. This ain't one of them...
Penny 2: The draft... If we keep the streak going we can reasonably expect to be in the top ten picks. I like Killingsworth - he can make an immediate contribution and has an all around game.
Last point - Wally is not as good as Ricky. Last night (and quite consistently) Wally shot under 50%, and didn't make it to the line once. Even when Ricky goes 3 for 12 he will still rack up 12 - 15 points by getting to the line a lot. Wally doesn't drive. This leaves the other team with more fouls to use on Pierce and the other players. I really believe Wally is a big part of why we are losing right now. His court vision and passing ability is sub-par and he doesn't compliment Pierce that well.
Lastly, how long before Pierce and Wally start fighting? If we were down by twenty in the third and on the verge of losing 5 in a row and Wally came over to give me a high five after hitting a free throw - I might punch him in the face... That's just me...

I agree completely RickyDFan, Szczerbiak is a bad fit. Granted, he's shooting abnormally badly, but he's not as athletic as Ricky and he can't really drive all to well or create his own shot. I don't think they're going to trade Pierce, but I give some credence to those who say that aquiring Wally was a precursor to just that, simply because they don't seem like they can play together. My first reaction was that it would be bad defensively, which it is, but the offense has really suffered too, as you point out. Ainge took over a slow aging team that was strong defensively and played shitty perimeter offense, and has turned it into a younger team that can't play defense, rarely runs, and plays shitty perimeter offense. If Coc was gone we'd be a better team, but the fundamental blueprint is flawed and that's all on Danny.

That Larry Bird comment is exactly what troubles me about this team. When we were serious contenders, no one was walking around wondering if Bird was about to be traded. I can't even remember many trades that took place until the player was past his prime to go for a younger stud to continue to remain competitve. Somewhere along the way that got fucked up.

Why do people keep saying that?? Stop listening to C-blog. The upcoming draft isn't that bad! There are four or five guys (two not even projected to go top ten) that I would love to see on my team. People wait for a big name, like Mr. Big Shot - Laettner, and they fold. Kobe fucking went 13! People picked 12 guys over Kobe. That draft is more about luck than who did what last year.
Dr. C, I can recap the game before it finishes... We lose. The Heat look very disinterested and play mediocre basketball, yet still beat us by 12ish. We play uninspired, except for Pierce who gets half the rebounds, points and assists. When is he going to explode? He is clearly too good for his teammates now. And I am being serious. Wade will get some highlight dunks and wow the crowd. I will sit scratching my head wondering why the media isn't all over him. Well spoken, smart, clean cut and dominating. It doesn't get much better than Wade.
Alright...I admit that I was wrong comparing this upcoming draft to Doc's wet bowel movements. I guess I just don't see a "franchise fixer" in this class. Then again, I suppose you don't always see those type of things coming, as you suggest.
