I know this will be repiTITion from my post in the previous game's thread, but did you notice the promo for the FSN Spring Training show sponsored by Dick's Sporting Goods? Our good buddies Dickinhand and TanGay will be hosting.......
"Dick's On the Road"!!!
How fuqqin' great is that?? Do the ditzes in the FSN marketing/promotions dept. realize what they've called the show?? You could almost hear Dickerly incredulously pause before reading if the first time like, "Join me and Gary for "Dicks on the....what the fff---!!??"
That was a true season highlight. The game was pretty entertaining, too.

Haven't read then post yet, had to vent first. These clowns blowing Wally on the air all night long "He only has one leg" and "so much heart" "that's a guy you want on your team" etc...
That shit isn't going to make me like him more. Are they paid to say that?

Just read it... Great job! The announcers throughout the game were trying to add too much hype. Everything was hyped up. For Pierce though, he did play his ass off. If we were going to trade him, it is unlikely his value gets higher than it is right now. You could get a young stud and a first rounder for this guy right now and nobody would blink an eye.
Pierce meltdown coming in 3...2...1....

Agreed, Dr, Tommy's attempts at pumping up Pierce at the expense of the greatest player of all time is horrible.
Entertaining game, though. The Boston Pierces come close again.

Scalaburine's giving titties a bad name. What an oaf! I'm not sure now whether I want us to win or lose. What a year to be a Celtics fan.

Lose... They've got to lose. There is no point of us going into the draft with the 12th or 14th pick. Why not blow the rest of the season and get a top 5 pick? Even if you just trade it? At least it is an asset.

Willie, the whole Tommy thing has gotten to a point of embarassment. I used to actually enjoy his persona and his rapport with Gorman, but the past two seasons have grown fully unbearable. I shut the TV off and feel like I've been bullied for 2 hours by some lame know-it-all who doesn't even have the decency to admit that the end result proves him completely wrong. It's sad because I used to really like him as a kid, particularly when he and Cousy did the road games. This deserves its own article, maybe during the break.
Shits, I didn't notice that at all, I must be slipping. It's really called "Dicks on the Road"? Truth in advertising at least. How about, "Dicks in the Lockeroom" for the post game? Absolutely the season highlight if this actually happens.
tittyfuck, at some point we'll have to rate the draft by best titties and figure out where we need to finish in order to get a nice rack on the squad. I'll alert Chad Ford the moment this is done.

RDF, what'd you think of Gorman's claim that Cleveland was looking to get Ricky back? Could it simply be the case that Ricky encountered two egomaniacal coaches in a row (Silas/Doc) and that's why he keeps getting shipped around?

Ricky could fill in part of the gap left by Hughes, at least the scoring and athleticism. He has a very attractive contract compared to his output, has matured and has shown he is a team player.
I think it is bullshit and the Cavs would never take him back, but that is besides the point. The announcers have all gone so far downhill this season. They are blowing guys for doing nothing. Wally shoots under 405 and they want to annoint him the savoir of the franchise. Delonte blocks somebody and instantly he is better than Marcus Camby. It's a bit much.

completely agree RDF. Gorman has totally gotten on my nerves. As if we're all so god damn stupid that we fail to appreciate the genius of this shitty lottery team. It starts at the top as far as I'm concerned and Grousbeck is a cocksucker of epic proportions. Nice gay biker jacket last week.

hahaha, I saw that Willie, the one with the green sections near the collar, right?
The quality of the broadcast has been declining steadily over the past few years, but to me the low point was when they went into that whole "Pierce is the greatest offensive Celtic of all time" rave. I mean, I understand that in some dangerously convoluted way you can defend that statement, but it really does grave injustice to Bird's legacy. Bird was a better shooter, a vastly better free throw shooter, a far better rebounder, an infinitely better passer, a MUCH MUCH MUCH more clutch player, and a three time champion. Pierce is a volume scorer on a sub-.500 team. This is his best year and it still compares unfavorably to Bird. Pierce's legacy will be as controversial as Bird's is unequivocable. That Pierce can "score in different ways" is idiotic and misses the lesson of Bird's entire career - he did whatever it took to win.
As for Delonte, I like him a lot but he is so clearly NOT a point guard that Uncle Tommy's protests to the contrary seem only to confirm that fact. I'll tell you what school I go to, you moron, the school of fucking reality.

This season reminds me a lot of Ainge's first year when we got Ricky and OB quit - the raging debate was whether or not to tank. This year it seems far more obvious that we should, because if the draft is so weak (which I know you disagree with RDF), then it's all the more important that we do everything we can to get the best player possible. I mean, what the fuck difference does it make now? Aim for the bottom, get the best player, go from there. Interestingly enough, Ainge was a fairly forthright proponent of tanking back in 2003, while this year he's been playing the "we want to make the playoffs" game. The first few games after the break will be telling. If we look utterly inept, I wouldn't be surprised if they decide to "give a lot of minutes to Gerald Green," if you catch my drift.

Chestnutt, I completely agree with you about tanking though. Let it go down the tubes. That is definitely my arguement too. Even if you don't want the pick someone else will. A top five pick is worth something to some team out there. Maybe they'll take Raef for it?
I like the idea of letting Green play. We can lose by 2 or by 20, does it really matter in the end? If Green plays maybe in three years we every game by 20? Who knows...

Dick's on the Road reminds me of the story of the Bobbits. When Lorena Bobbit cut off her husbands pecker, she drove off with it in her car. Two country boys were driving behind her, and when she threw her husbands manhood out the window, it smashed into the windshield of the country boys car before falling onto the road. "Holy smokes", said the driver. "Did you see the dick on that bug?"

Don't forget RDfan, it was Pierce himself who fucked that trade up, Danny would have done it but Pierce made it clear to Portland that he would not report.
Always bring that trade up when some asshole says we can't get equal value for Pierce. We could have gotten greater value in a prime/need position.
