Hey. I'm new here and I enjoy your comments on the games. No need to read Shira "the sycophant" Springer anymore. You are right on: Wally was fantastic on offense last night. Unfortunately, he was probably supposed to be covering Wade on D. And, Al, geezus did he suck. If he could have stopped worshipping Shaq long enough to catch a pass the Celts might have had a chance. Once again, Gomes was great, proving that "earning your minutes" on the Celts means waiting for all the schmucks Danny has overpaid or over-hyped to get injured so you can play. And, lemme guess, another "stealth" game for Raef?

I don't think Springer is a syncophant....

I jumped in my car at the end of the 3rd quarter and heard the radio play by play guy say "The Celtics had a 45 point lead in this game and it is down to 7...."

I almost shit my pants.

Wally looked great in the 4th quarter. It's too bad Jefferson has looked like shit since the 3rd ankle injury, he seemed to be coming along right before that.

He looks like a boy among men out there though, a Giant pussy softer than Morkunt.

Gravatar Leave Al alone. He is going to be just fine. I am sure at 20 y'all were leaders in your industry, right?

Great write up though. I agree with them never being in it. I was watching the game at a local watering hole here in the Bean. The few other people looking at that screen were satisfied that we had it wrapped up in the 2nd quarter. I made the comment that the Heat were coming back and this was far from over. They didn't believe it... They sure do now.

Blowing a 25 point lead in 1 quarter is pretty fucking sad.

Gravatar anon - welcome aboard, always nice to have new people. I wouldn't count on us/me to replace newspaper coverage, in that I am rather unreliable (ie: lazy, depressed, distracted, etc) with my postings. Nonetheless, it's good to have a place where we can all bitch about things.

Like Willie, I have no real beef with Shira, I think she's a typical beat reporter, no more, no less. Her appearances on Sportsplus with Ed Berliner (sp?) on the Comcast channel indicate that she's pretty knowledgable about the game, and she tends to shit on the team a little more in that venue. But I'm fucking nuts anyway because I like Peter May too and admit to it.

RDF, I like Al and have some degree of optimism, but he's really godawful this year, so much so that it's been a big step backwards. That's why I'd advocate just playing him a ton and saying, "sink or swim." As for being a leader in my industry, that ain't likely to happen if I live to be a zillion.

Gravatar Okay, tank the thought of the playoffs and play the dogshit out of Al, Perk, and GG. Time to assess these guys as we look, once again, to "next year."

Gravatar yeah, myassholestnx, it's a song we know all too well.

Gravatar I'm confused as to why the 'Future is Bright!' with this team?

They had a two week stretch where Pierce went nuts and they played over .500 amidst a season of horrible basketball and somehow the two week stretch is what we are supposed to look at and not the rest of the season.

Gravatar I know Willie, plus this idea that Pierce is untouchable because of that same hot streak. He's been playing great and had his best season as a pro, yes, I would agree with all those who say that. But is he in the caliber of player where you can say that simply by adding another vet (via the iffy "assets" we posses) we'll suddenly be a contender? There's just no one in the league we could get where I think it would make any difference (ie - we can't get a true impact player with Gerald Green and Al Jefferson as our trade bait). Are people really of the mind that Tony Allen and Delonte will "mature" into the kinds of players that will suddenly turn the team around? In my mind, we've kind of already know what those guys are destined to be, and they're role players (I love Delonte, but he's basically a tougher/smarter Chucky Atkins). Only Al and maybe Perk still have ceilings that are hard to project.

The future is years of .450-.500 basketball, in my opinion, because Wyc et. al. are content to confuse fools gold with real progress.

Gravatar That's like spending the rest of your life fucking a pair of AA cup titties. I'm tired of .500, first round playoff ball. I'd like someone to lay out the moves it would take for us to be a contender.

Gravatar DC, I know for a fact we can get some real talent with trades. On the "down-low" I've been on contact with Cavaliers mgmt, and they agreed to a trade of LeBron and Big Z for Raef and a 2nd rounder. The Bulls are sending Gordon over here for Allen, The Heat are sending Wade and Shaq for Wally and our first rounder in 09, and lastly, the Lakers are sending Kobe and Odom up for Orien Greene and Kandi. We should have one helluva team next season

Oh... Titty meant realistic moves, didn't he? Oh well... I tried.
