Gravatar Chortle.

The terms "free expression" and "CelticsBlog" should never be used in the same sentence. I wonder if Jeff's issued brown shirts and knee-high boots to his moderators yet.

On to Pierce: Overgenerous characterization of his skills, to be sure, but he's playing Kyle Sampson to Alberto Gonzales' daily "Yeah, that's the ticket" routine with the truth.

The message is over-dramatized, but it's basically true: This team sucks, and Pierce is going to be old, gray and helping John Havlicek into TD Tanknorth with his walker before the Celtics even darken the ECF, let alone the Finals.

Gravatar On the other hand, at least Pierce didn't try to hand us Danny's "one player away" bullshit. I still think Pierce, though no Einstein, is capable of being one of two or three major contributors on a top team.

Anybody get to see Ben Gordon dribble himself into a corner in OT last night?

Gravatar Quite true. I don't find Pierce's hubris nearly as objectionable as the "one player away" bullshit propaganda campaign of the Grousbeck-Ainge administration - let alone the dumb Internet fucks who cling to that bullshit as tenaciously as Republicans who still believe in their - not our - preznit.

Gravatar Hey, Doc. Can you get the research department on this one?

Did that dumbshit Grousbeck actually say in public that he'd be satisfied with a lower draft pick than one or two because "we're willing to wait?"

And if so, can you provide an e-mail contact for him so I can send him a thinly-veiled demand to pull his head out of his ass?

Thanks in advance.

JJ.

Gravatar ha! JJ, I have Wyc's email here in my roledex, back from our old fair Princeton days...

As much as I agree that the lies from management are worse, I just think it's lame that a guy signs a huge extension and then bitches about it a year later. Paul has made a semi-believer of me for the past two seasons. But I just find this "poor me, I'm a GREAT player blah blah blah" to be embarassing. I can't remember if I've ever heard a player refer to themselves as great, let alone one who is not.

And, also, more importantly, it was something new to write about it.

Gravatar I do agree that Pierce has established that he's not a bellcow for a champion - no Bird, no Havlicek, etc.

But in some respects, I do feel sorry for him. He's been surrounded by shit the past three years, save a half-season of veteran help that was thrown out with the trash.

I asked Peter May via e-mail the same question and he thinks Grousbeck wants to win, just that he has no earthly clue how to do it - which is a Japanese bomb Pearl Harbor revelation.

The solution, clearly, is to shitcan the Mormon, identify a proven NBA GM< hire him and then go back to your job as owner - which is grinning stupidly from your courtside seats.

Gravatar It's pretty brazen for any Celtic player or official to say anything self agrandizing after this pitiful season. Pierce is not one of the very small handful of players who can carry a team to a championship. Doc lobbying for an extension is about the ballsiest thing I've ever seen. And Danny owes an apology to all for the Telfair trade alone. If I want to listen to a bunch of blather, I'll tune into The View. In the meantime, shut up. lose, and do some things right for next year.

Gravatar Love to see Pierce shutting it down two games after Tommy Snow and Condoleeza Gorman told us he's "not shutting it down" about 1,042 times.

Gravatar Oh, and I see they tweaked the Celtics TV promo with Pierce and Rondo in which Pierce looks at Lucky's clothes and says, "Only a rookie would wear that," and Rondo comes in a says, "Just my size, Lucky." I guess they've added a new ending in which Pierce says, "Hey Rondo, if it'll fit over your diapers, why don't you wear that shit outta town and get us a veteran point guard in here!"

Gravatar Excellent work, Dr. Sometimes when reading celticsblog and realgm I forget that Pierce has only been named to the All-NBA-3rd team one time.

So many times people argue whether or not Pierce is a top 10 NBA player, if he can be the #1 man on a contender, or where he stands on the list of all-time great Celtics.

It is pretty humbling to see that he is an All-NBA 3rd team selection one time, has finished over .500 a total of 3 times, and we are usually left debating things like "Who should get the final all-star spot, Pierce or Michael Redd?"

The one time that we had a legitimate team around Pierce we learned that he was no where near as good as Jason Kidd and that is about it. I think it'd be interesting to see how he plays on a contender, could he fit in? Make his team mates better? Lead? My guess is that he'd fail miserably and that he is a good-stats-bad team kind of player but we'll just have to wait and see on that one.

Gravatar fuck coc. they can't even lose right.

I hate the Celtics.

Gravatar Coc is winning to try to keep his job. Management needs to tell the idiot that at this point it's over. If we let Milwaukee pass us for the 2nd worst record, we will have surpassed every dumbassed move this franchise has ever made. Fuck Coc is right, willie.

Gravatar Good point.

The "Gerald Green for the Basketball Hall of Fame" drive is now under way on RealGM and Celtics Nation.

When Gigi can spell "basketball," then I'll consider him for the HOF. I'm not worried that will soon happen.

Gravatar As if there was any doubt, the recent play of the team should answer the age old question "Are the Boston Celtics retarded?"

Gravatar I can't wait for the day to come when I can root for the Celtics to win a game. I can't wait for the day to come when I won't have to wear earplugs and a clothespin on my nose to get a piece of ass. Fuck Coc. Fuck Queen LaQueefa. Get me the hell out of here.

Gravatar My god I just looked at some recent Milwaukee Bucks boxscores. Check out some of their lineups!! Krystowiak is putting Doc to shame. Why are the Celtics too stupid to do this? What part of mathematically eliminated don't they understand?

Gravatar Huge game tonight. Let's hope Doc doesn't fuck it up by trying to win. I think Telfair and Ray have got to get "showcased" tonight.

Gravatar I've already read that Al and Gomes "bumped knees" and Jefferson won't play. Also someone said that Pierce might need to sit this one out, too. I don't know if any of this is true but I sure hope so!

Gravatar I don't care if the DNP is "anal fissures."

Let's get some DNPs out there and nail down a key defeat.

Gravatar This is a must lose game.

Gravatar Great game! I'm tempted to forgive Telfair for his performance this season based on his incredible game last night. Nah, fuck. He sucks shit.

Gotta give Danny credit: he managed to pick up Pinkney without trading Scal and Telfair for him. Wait a minute, Bakersfield probably didn't want Scal and Telfair.

Gravatar Hey, anon, I think you've hit on something. Danny is brilliant! Telfair was worth giving up the 7th pick last year so that his play could get us a top two pick this year. Just think, if we get the #2 pick this year we can trade if for shit to give us a real shot at a #1 pick next year. We are in the presence of greatness with Celtic management and its' plan that is a secret to most. Start Telfair, he will lead us to the promised land. Number 17 is just around the corner.

Gravatar I've been giving Danny credit all season for his ability to put together a team that can tank the season while trying passionately to win. The Telfair acquisition was icing on the cake. I gotta give Doc some credit too for being able to continue losing without Scal. Now that's coaching.

Gravatar Six games left right? 3 games "up" on the Bucks. Durant is coming out according to Celts blog. If they hang on to the 2nd spot, the Celts have a 20% change of landing Oden and a 38% chance of landing Durant. So, over a 58% chance of landing one of the first two, assuming Oden comes out.

Despite themselves, the Celts with their undermanned roster should be be able to fend off the Bucks push for the 2 spot. With Jefferson, the veteran all-star, Rondo, DW (I'm a fan), Durant/Oden and Perk,I'm eyeing the Kool-aid cannister, Telfair be damned.

Gravatar Gotta hand it to Busty Telfailure for picking his spots: he managed 21 points against 40 year old almost-was Darrell Armstrong without endangering the defeat. The "Telfair/Ray Showcase" continues.

Gravatar Meanwhile, Brandon Roy has been regularly scoring in the twenties and will, most likely, prove to be a better two guard than anybody we currently have. At the very least, appealing trade bait.

Gravatar Yeah, but does Roy have a book and movie about him? Has he ever brought a gun on a plane? Has he ever been involved in a gang rapper shooting? See, he's boring.

Gravatar Haha the Herald reports that the Celtics are going to offer Doc Rivers an extension after the season. The Celtics are such a terrible franchise that it's ridiculous.

Gravatar Chortle.

Yeah, tell me again how committed Free Ducats Grousbeck is to winning.

Gravatar There are at least 5 pages of posts on realgm agreeing with each other that he earned the extention (I couldn't read anymore after 5 pages, too painful). Yep, a 23-53 record, including a franchise record 18-game losing streak during a season in which the stated preseason expectations were to make the playoffs.

Gravatar You guys still don't get it! Danny is preparing to tank NEXT season! Hence, the extension.

Gravatar They are giving Doc an extension? WTF?

Gravatar RealGM has been overrun with the Kool-Aid drinkers from CelticsBlah.

Yeah, 23 wins and our cup just fucking runneth over with talent and coaching genius.

Fucking eMachines computers are too cheap.

Gravatar I think the posters on this board share something in common with a newly enlightened lesbian: we're all sick and tired of Coc.

Gravatar All the Kool-Aid heads are saying what a great job Doc is doing tanking down the stretch and that he's earning his extension with his substitutions. MAN, are they going to be shocked when he's still pulling this exact same shit when next year starts..

Gravatar I hear ya, EJ. But you gotta admit Doc is doing some magnificent tanking. I mean, leaving Telfair in there through long stretches of the third and fourth quarters, making Tyrone Lue look like Kobe is just flat out spec-tank-ular! I think most of the comments about Dco deserving an extension for his tanking expertise are sarcastic--CelticsBlah readers voted 2-1 that Doc's extension is a bad idea--but, don't forget, they'll have to tank next year too, so they might still need Doc (and Telfair).

Gravatar Doctor, when are we going to get a "Dr. Chestnutt on the Celtics" or "The Good Doctor Breaks Down the Celtics" book? I would buy that thing fresh off the presses.

Here's an idea, you can have some comments in there by some of the personalities on this board. It's a sure-fire hit!

Gravatar Can't wait for the chapter on "How I really feel about the ten year extension of Doc's contract". Sure to be required reading.

Gravatar Well, they've secured the second worst record. What an accomplishment! Give Doc an extension! Danny for exec of the year! Tommy Points for every fucking idiot in this pathetic clusterfuck of a so-called professional basketball team.

Gravatar Ughh...I just realized the Celts have about a 40% chance of landing one of the top two picks, not 58% as I mistakenly posted earlier. That SUCKS. I thinks the Celtics had a 36% chance of landing Duncan, and we know what happened there.

So, probably, the Celtics DON'T get Oden/Durant. All that expert tanking down the tubes - probably. Maybe they should move the pick for a vet? It's tough to give up even a shot at one of those guys - especially Oden.

Gravatar I had a choice this afternoon of looking at the Old Bag or reading some of the old posts on this blog going back a year or so. Damn, you bastards write well, and are hilarious to boot. Most of the assessments and predictions you guys made turned out to be true, I would guess a 95% rate of being correct. The only thing wrong was reading some of my posts about the Old Bag. Takj about Memory Lane. More like Amnesia Alley. It came to me that archiving all those posts was almost like a scrapbook, and then, upon further thought, like a scrapbook without the s. When I married the Bag, I lost most of my luck (and fuck), what little of luck I have, I will to the lottery.

Gravatar myassholestnxduzyrs?, too bad you can't cast your balls into the lottery for a new old bag. Nah, you know you love her, even though her pussy hangs like a wizard's sleeve.

And speaking of pussies, Telfair's minutes seem to have declined immediately after the need to tank ended.

Gravatar anyone else see that Bill Simmons rehashed two years of CelticsDoom blog posts for his last column?

Gravatar I did see that Willie. It was the best thing he's written in a while, but I agree, it was the exact same thing we read here on a daily basis.

Gravatar Quite true. An impressive record of accuracy.

Unmatched by the asshats on Celtics Blah or RealGM.

Do I recall correctly that Wyc Jr. came over here from Celtics Blah one fine winter day to attempt to goad us into a fight with "what does it feel like to be right?"

I guess he couldn't find the ban button on Chesty's blog.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Gravatar Man, the one really good thing about this year is Al Jefferson. You can begin to see our way out of this abyss with a lineup of Al, Pierce, Rondo, West, and ....

Gravatar Hey boil, take that Kool-Aid shit over to Celtanks Blah.

Just kidding, Al is like Tim Duncan on offense and Sandy Duncan on defense. I'm glad Perk got the plantar fascitis back in December so Al got a chance to start.

Gravatar Not to mention exaggerated the plantar fascitis as an excuse for his sorry-ass fourth season - which comes on the heels of his sorry-ass third, second and first seasons.

Didn't know plantar fascitis was as bad as the clap.

But seriously, Jefferson is the ONLY bright spot in this otherwise dismal failure of a season.

Gravatar On a happier note, it looks like we're going to get the association out here in the Midwest for keeps, courtesy of those stupid fucks in rain-soaked Seattle.

So at least the once-yearly trips to see the Celtics get ass-plowed in Oklahoma City may remain.

Gravatar JJ, you're making me blush with this man-crush you have on me

Gravatar Hey Dr. Chestnutt, is it ok to use the term "man-crush" here, or should it be censored?

Gravatar Ban him for it.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Gravatar Ah, Jeff, old buddy - when you want the truth about what's going on with the Celtics, feel free to step out of that Oz you operate and come over here.

We're only too glad to help you out.

Gravatar I enjoy visiting here. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. I don't know what I did to draw such ire from you Jim, but I understand that I can't please everyone. I'm sorry if you were hurt by being banned (I obviously don't remember each particular case) but I'm sure it wasn't personal. I wish you all the best.

Gravatar Can new team president Gotham fire Ainge?

Gravatar You seem to enjoy using the term "banned," Jeff. Maybe you should try the term "quit."

You know exactly what I mean when I say that you apply board rules selectively - toward anyone who dares question Grousbeck.

Pretty simple. I stand on my track record of observations about the Celtics. If you care to admit it - and I doubt if you do - you will recall that before I left, I forecast 37 wins for this year's Celtics club - a forecast that drew the personal messaging ire of one of your moderators.

That number, I said, would drop into the mid-20s if Pierce missed any significant time.

I believe that I'll just stand on my record of accuracy regarding the Celtics. The similar records of your moderators speak for themselves.

Gravatar so you really do believe you were railroaded for having an opinion different from mine or another mod?

really?

I guess I can't help you if that's really what you believe - nothing I can say is going to change your mind without going back and tracking down all the events and people involved

all I can tell you is that it is just not true because it has never been true of anyone

Gravatar By the way, just for you, I went back and researched the events surrounding your departure - I see that you are right, you asked to be deleted from the blog because you didn't agree with the way a moderator was addressing you via PMs.

I don't want to drag this out in public, so if you like you can email me and we can discuss this at more length, but the bottom line is that you were not railroaded for having a differing opinion, period.

Gravatar false hope springs eternal.

Gravatar In case anyone didn't know, Bob Ryan informed us in today's Globe that Paul Pierce is "still the team's best clutch rebounder."

Gravatar JJ, please let us know the progress of your secret talks. I was also banned (my posts immediately removed without regard to content) for a while, until Jeff heard you complain, and then I was allowed to express my dissent.

Gravatar Okay, guys, time for some healing. How about a nice big group hug? Who volunteers to stand in front of Will Roberts?

Gravatar The Old Bag asked me with a smile on her face how the Celtics were doing this year. I think she's fucking with me. As far as the group hug is concerned, I think Danny, Doc, and Wyc should be behind each of us, and we can all smoke a cigarette afterwords.

Gravatar Chortle.

Really no need to express dissent. It's expressing itself in the facts, and anyone who disagrees just discredits themselves - further.

No thoughts about Sebustian Telfailure's latest brush with the law?

If being the most inept player in the league doesn't get you cut from the Day Care, does being a pathological dumb fuck get the job done?

Discuss.

Gravatar Oh, and for the record, I have zero interest in any e-mail, Jeff, until you and your moderators:

1) cease goading dissenters into disagreements, both on the board and through personal messages;

and

2) display some sort of a commitment to a balanced Celtics discussion.

Gravatar Silly me:

and

3) Enforce the board rules against churlish behavior against EVERYONE, not just the people dissatisfied with the state of the Celtics.

Gravatar The Sebastian Telfair trade has now entered the Vin Baker level of unbelievably idiotic moves in NBA history.

Gravatar Boys, here's a first of recent vintage: Something out of the Bullshitting Banker Boy's mouth that I actually agree with:

http://celtics.bostonherald.com/ ...rticleid=195915

Adios, Sebustian. Enjoy your stay at the Pacman Jones Hotel and Resort.

Gravatar Now we get to follow the careers of Brandon Roy and Rudy Gay to track what we could have had instead of this clown. Which reminds me, what ever became of inmate #42's problems in Chicago?

Gravatar So Danny saved 1 year on Raef's contract by swapping him for Theo, then traded Roy for Telfair. Telfair was given the starting point guard position to start the season and was quickly overtaken by West. Then West missed 14 games, and he was overtaken by Rondo. So he was the 3rd string PG on the worst team in the league last year and the 3rd string PG on the second worst team in the league this year. In addition to being absolutely horrendous, he had a $50k necklace stolen right after Danny traded for him, a rapper was shot, and now this incident. Just like the gun-on-the-plane incident, Telfair plays dumb and says he had "no idea" how the gun got there. Roy is already averaging 17-4-4.

If you believe what you read on realgm then Boston will miraculously be able to trade Ratliff and crap for Jermaine O'Neal or Pau Gasol, but more than likely Danny will end up using that money to re-sign guys like Tony Allen so that we can look forward to more ridiculous off the court incidents in the future.

I'm almost beginning to think Danny is capable of missing out on Oden or Durant even if he landed a top 2 pick.

Gravatar One thing about it: Fucking Telfailure will be like leukemia.

No fucking way to get rid of his name from Celtics annals - or is that anals? - alongside the Joe Johnson and Chauncey Billups deals.

The latter two were bad enough, but they've turned every fucking half-witted Celtics fan into America into a sniveling pussy when it comes to trading.

Gravatar This Telfair trade is neck and neck with the Vin Baker trade, imo. For crying out loud, would anyone else have done those two deals? I read somewhere Chris Wallace might be leaving, don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

Gravatar Has any team in the history of the NBA had two consecutive GMs as incompetent as Chris Wallace and Danny Ainge? I say no.

I really hated Chris Wallace, but Danny Ainge has almost caught up to him. If DA messes up again, he will surpass him.

Both of these guys are guilty of havin the "genius syndrome"-- which is making deals to be seen as brilliant, but only outwitting themselves in the process. Any person with half a brain would have taken Roy with the #7 pick. It was obvious.

Gravatar Moral: It isn't that hard for a quarter-wit - put Wallace and Ainge together and you've got a half-wit - to outwit himself.

Well said, Rocky.

Gravatar CeltanksBlah has been down all afternoon. How am I to know if Telfair is misunderstood or just young?

Gravatar It's Bassy to those who love him dearly, Anon.

And he's clearly misunderstood. Some of the village idiots at RealGM are suggesting now that he's not even guilty of a crime - even though the New York laws might see the issue differently.

Chortle. It never ceases to amaze me how people struggle with admitting that they're wrong.

Gravatar "Only the draft will determine whether the Celtics become great or merely very good." - courtesy RealGM.

Seriously, where can you find these kinds of laughs for free? The tears are still running down my face.

Gravatar Well, let's see. Telfair's getting the boot, but Celticsblahgers are saying it was still a good trade because Wyc saved money. Coc is getting an extension for a 24-58 record. And the Old Bag's mother called today and says she'll be staying with us for six weeks during the summer. Bassy, can I borrow your gun, pretty please?

Gravatar Got to give those blaggers credit: It must be difficult to type on a computer keyboard with your tongue up Wyc's anus.

Gravatar I don't understand their mentality at all. Imagine saying "Danny had a great offseason last year, he traded the draft pick that ended up being the rookie of the year for a point guard who would get arrested twice in his first season with the team, lose his starting job after 20 games, and have the owner publically declare that he wouldn't be back for a second season. However, he saved $11 million. Didn't get the team under the salary cap, just saved Wyc $11 million."

If I gave a fuck about how much money Wyc Grousbeck made I'd be on an investment banking forum, not a basketball forum.

Gravatar It does make you wonder if old Wyc doesn't have some sort of a relationship with those posters.

I'd love to make Wyc fucking rich - by selling the club to someone who doesn't have his head buried in his own ass.

Gravatar 33% of Americans still think Bush is doing a good job. 33% of CelticsBlahgers think Doc deserves an extension. Basically, 33% of people will never admit they're wrong no matter what. Many of them are on CelticsBlah.

Gravatar The Internet doesn't compel anyone to admit that they have no foggy clue about basketball and the Boston Celtics.

Two years ago you could have some pretty heated discussions about the future of the Celtics because the verdict wasn't in.

It's sure as hell in now. The youth movement has failed.

But there are going to be idiots who won't admit it, results be damned.

Gravatar Anon, too bad that 33% includes Wyc. The old phrase "I'd rather be lucky than good" never was truer than with the current version of the Celtics.

Gravatar The bright side is one CLEAR reminder that Ainge is an idiot - Telfair - is gone.

But it does deprive us of the pleasure of anticipating this summer's trade to try and rectify being bent over by the TrailBlazers last summer.

Since Danny won't be busy hiding all the mistakes he made last summer, perhaps he can focus on a first - actually having a positive summer of drafting and trades.

A guy can dream, can't he?

Gravatar We can't even fire somebody the right way. What could we possibly get in return for Telfair now? The Celtics logo needs to be changed to show "Lucky" bent over a wilted three leaf clover with a cock-shaped shillelah up his ass. Next topic of discussion: Coc's well deserved extension.

Gravatar Let's just pray that the Celtics don't cut Telfailure. That would free him up to sign with another team. Then Danny might be tempted to package our draft pick and Scal for Telfair so that he can get out from under Scal's contract..

Gravatar In celebration of this glorious season I tried to light a fart last night. All I did was burn my ass, which, upon reflection, is exactly what this season did.

Gravatar I had to share this from Real GM. I laughed for 15 minutes.

?On the whole, I am delighted with Danny's performance. I love what he has done with the roster, taking it from the aging, no talent bunch that rode a horribly boring and stifling system to the EC finals, to a robust young talented roster ready to emerge as a perennial power in the EC. Thanks Danny."

Computers, my friends, are too cheap. I imagine this guy's been elevated to moderator status at CelticsBlah for this crap.

Gravatar JJ, they spout the same crap on Celticsblog. From "This team would destroy the 2002 team" to "Ainge is good because he didn't make a trade to improve this team this year so we now have a chance at Oden", it's always Christmas for a few of the dimmer bulbs over there.

Unlike yourself, I enjoy posting there. But when they crack out the "I'll take Jefferson over Howard/Amare" threads, it gets very difficult not to inform those posters what I think of their ignorance in words that would get me banned.

Gravatar The discussions were fine; the moderators - between their goading and their heavy-handed harassment of anyone who didn't agree with them - were another story. There was one set of rules for anyone dissatisfied with the franchise; a decidedly looser set for any of the beloved Kool-Aid crowd.

Some have indicated that board management no longer has its lips firmly attached to Wyc's ass, as they did when I got fed up with the inane posts and the general "God bless Daddy Wyc" attitude over there; if so, good for them and good for any attempts they're making to reclaim their damaged credibility.

Gravatar "So, Wyc's email had an interesting effect. On the positive side, it signals a tough stance on the code of conduct. On the negative side, it signaled to all the teams looking to trade for a young point guard that the price has dropped significantly."

code of conduct HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!

Telfair is expendable because he sucks. Some other team probably wanted to hose Ainge in yet another deal so we should be thankful that Wyc fucked up Ainge's chances of getting porked.

Gravatar No shit. No one seriously thinks Inmate #42 has suddenly found God and will read his Bible nightly instead of looking for someone to fuck up.

Gravatar Here's one direct from CeltanksBlah for you:

"I think DWest has too much heart to trade for Dirk and I think DWest will get better."

Gravatar The sheer, unadulterated ignorance of a post like that is mind-boggling.

Maybe that board needs a new page: "Place for stupid Celtics fans to post moronic shit."

Rather like listening to Dubya talk.

Gravatar Wow. I mean I am starting to think that Dirk is a huge pussy but to not trade DELONTE WEST for him? LOL!!!!!

Gravatar Perk shows a lot of heart the way he is dealing with plantar fascitis in his hands and feet. I wouldn't trade him for Amare Stoudemire.

Gravatar Hey, you guys and CeltanksBlah are funny, but not nearly as funny as the players themselves. You might want to check out this Herald article in which the players talk about how to improve themselves. For example: Pierce, who, as discussed in DC's article, is none too bright:

"I think I’m an underrated defender when I put my mind to it."

Uh, Paul, if you're playing without "putting your mind to" playing some defense then no rating is low enough to describe your ability to defend.

Here's Scal:

"I’ve got to transform myself into a better three-man, so I can help the team out there. Right now I’m a four-man who can’t really play the three. I want to be able to play both positions."

Uh, Scal, you can't really play the four either. In fact, you suck shit. The last thing this team needs is another oversized three-man a la that fucking pussy Raef. Gomes and Pierce will handle the three. Why don't you see if you can fit your breasts into one of the Dancers costumes and help us out there. Better yet, do us a favor and transform yourself to another team.

For the rest of the hilarity:

http://celtics.bostonherald.com/ ...rticleid=197783

Gravatar I wonder if plantar fascitis infects the brain?

Gravatar While we're at it, let's give Scalaburine an extension too.

Gravatar I like wearing real tight pants so that when I sit down my balls lay on either side of the seam and they bulge out so much they look like frog eyes. Ribbit.

Gravatar Go Warriors!!

Gravatar Add RealGM to the list of the ill-informed oppressors. Like CelticsBlah, the moderators are verbally assaulting, harassing and baning anyone who dares disagree with them.

The highlight was one of them proclaiming, "We are not idiots."

Perhaps not, but like CelticsBlah, you're consistently and militantly wrong about the Celtics, its players and its future.

I'll let others decide what that actually is.

Gravatar Agreed, JJ. Just about a week or two ago the realgm Mod's were adamantly defending the pick-that-was-Brandon Roy for Telfair trade on the basis of it saving ownership money. They were so unwilling to look at the basketball aspect of the trade that I was starting to wonder if the Celtics were going to start raising banners in the TD Banknorth Garden for dollars saved per season, instead of championships.

Now after you suggest that Ainge wouldn't take on a $22.5million per year deal - all the mods are back, no more than two weeks after saying the complete opposite, saying how Ainge has taken on Scalaburine, Wally, Kandi, Raef, etc. They can't have it both ways - either Ainge isn't willing to take on bloated salaries, or he royally fucked up the Brandon Roy trade.

Gravatar the great thing about Ainge is that he does both. Takes on bloated salaries and gives away young talent.

It reminds me of the "We can't afford to trade Chauncy Billups again!!!" crowd that got upset over the idea of trading Delonte, FHU, or Rondo. Meanwhile the guy most likely to turn into the next Billups was traded for a few new basketball nets and to cover Wyc's bar tab at the Ritz.

Gravatar There are some seriously fucked up Celtics fans who can't argue their point without contradicting themselves.

Several of them go by the names "Chris" "tlee" "Super Deluxe" "Darth Celtic," etc.

I still go back to the protesth of Super Deluxe.

"We're not idiots."

The hell you're not.

Gravatar And BTW, if Ainge takes on Kevin Garnett's contract for anyone on the current roster, I'll do the Old Bag.

Gravatar Jim, I believe that it was Tlee (I could be wrong on this, I'm going from memory on a bloody screen name) who was trying to point to that short stretch post trade last season where the Celtics played .500 ball for a couple weeks as proof that this was going to be a great season for them, since this was proof that the Wally trade was a great one.

Seriously, Celtics homers are some of the most ridiculous fans I've met in my entire life. One Zagnut is actually crediting Ainge with not making moves this past season and getting the team the #2 chance in the lottery. Now, even complete and total failure is a great move for these clowns.

Gravatar Danny, Danny, please, old boy, take on KG's contract!!

Gravatar Scintan, it can be funny when the poster is just basketball-ignorant, as many Celtic fans seem to be.

Where it crosses the line into maddening is with the militantly ignorant, the "I may not know shit about basketball, but I'm not about to admit it" crowd.

Admittedly, having coached this game for almost 30 years, I don't harbor the basketball illiterate very well.

Gravatar Only at Celticsblog can Chris Wallace be considered a stand up basketball mind.

Thanksdad Gaston? What about Thanksdad Wyc?

Gravatar Yeah, that article about Chris Wallace talking about how important the draft is. Who the fuck is he kidding? We've never recovered from the puke of a draft of Joe Johnson (who we immediately gave away), Kedrick Brown and Joe Forte. Meanwhile, the guys we passed over, Richard Jefferson, Gilbert Arenas, and Tony Parker, made the playoffs this year. Didn't he give us Gin Baker as well. He's still on our books for 5 mil. And Coc wants an extension. How are these people still employed? Kiss my ass.

Gravatar Celticsblah now has Jeff taking the "high road" with reports Bird and McHale smoked weed in the 80's, hilariously followed by the legions of Blahdom absolutely skewering him. Funny stuff.

Gravatar Nothing like a good Friday laugh. The below board - Celtics Nation - is actually one of the better ones because the moderators actually understand basketball, but it's got its share of refugees from CelticsBlah, RealBM and others.

Danny's re-signing Doc tells me two things: 1) Ainge is still totally in charge, and 2) that he's betting his own career on his Vision.

Danny is a man of great faith, a true believer in himself, and his prior judgements. He's not the kind of guy who reassesses based on updated evidence. Danny is also a very wealthy man. He has probably made more than $20 million over the past 4 years. He has nothing to lose by doing it his way.

I see no reason to believe that Danny wil reassess his youngsters. Especially now that Al Jefferson has turned the corner, Ainge will expect to see the same from his other picks. I expect him to stick with a relatively pat hand, adding the top 5 pick, and maybe a mid-level exception.

I think that Ainge is on course to rebuild a winner, but not this upcoming year. The NBA draft system encourages the weaker teams to rebuild around talented young prospects, as long as teams can pick the right ones, and then develop them effectively. The Ainge era Celtics have proven they can pick them, but haven't proven they can develop them. Maybe this will be the year they turn that corner.

It's a very intriguing story line, and that's why the fans are staying tuned in.

BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Gravatar Oops. Forgot to put quotes around the bullshit. I'm sure you can find the post, which was made under the name ThickNThin Fan.

Hard to find belly laughs like that one.

Gravatar Here's another good one, courtesy of Tlee on RealBM - who loves to expound on the great young talent Danny has drafted, then comes up with pearls like this:

"The difference here is that the Celtics are this high in the lottery mainly due to injury. Add a decent rookie out of this draft to a healthy roster next season, and you may see a positive result come out of this."

Let's see. Who missed most of the season? Doggone if it wasn't Paul Pierce.

Celtics fans are indeed some of the most clueless homers in the sporting world.

Gravatar LOL. TLee324 has been on fire lately. When someone said (jokingly) that Doc will win coach of the year next year, he said "There is a very interesting chance this could happen. A relatively healthy roster alone could result in a 20+ win improvement from this current record. Now that Rivers is more aware of the starting lineup he should be using, who knows how well this team could improve?"

Call me a pessimist, but I don't think we've exactly got a 67 win team on our hands here.

Then in the same thread he followed up with "A guy in the past has termed me a Doc "hater", but even I'm not sure too many coaches could have sustained losing the players he lost and still avoided the losing streak."

An 18 game losing streak? With a roster that he himself said is poised to win 44+ games next year that was only missing one key player? Not too many coaches could've avoided that??

HELLO??!! TLEE, ANYONE HOME IN THAT HEAD OF YOURS??!!!!??!!!

Gravatar Someone's got to enlighten me on what it takes to become a RealBM moderator.

What's the criteria for being declared a dumb enough fuck to moderate a bad Celtics message board?

Gravatar Haha I just read the Celticsblah Bird/McHale/smoking piece. At least the comment section does prove conclusively that the posters over there are indeed high. I suspected as much, but it's good to finally see proof.

Gravatar The off-season has a destructive impact on those bad message boards. People either start toking and/or drinking, and the next thing you know Delonte West is the second coming of Cousy, et al.

Gravatar There's a meltdown going on. Danny doesn't think game management means anything, or as he puts it, "X's and O's are overated." The Titanic has struck the iceberg. We're running a social club called the Boston Celtics.

Gravatar The in-your-face arrogance of the Ainge administration is so similar to that of the Bush administration that I find my self physically and mentally upset.

Gravatar Good point, Anon - as is the dogged refusal to accept reality from those who support Ainge.

Gravatar Season tickets, anyone?

Gravatar Welcome to Jim's new offseason feature: "Idiotic Celtics Internet Post of the Day."

This one is from John Locke on RealBM, trying - and failing miserably, of course - to make the case that Ainge has done a better job than Bryan Colangelo:

"While I agree that he is a good GM and really did a nice job, I have to stress the point that I don't feel that Toronto have the chance to become champions in the next few years.

What he basicly did was making them better, but not potential champions.

And for me, I don't care if I'm 2nd place or last place. I want a trophy. I don't care about anything else.

Sure, we can't overlook the fact that they might be able to build on this run and aquire more and more talent. But that does not seem to be the case, because they really don't have that many chips to play with. Hell, aren't they gonna lose Mo Pete?

If we get similar results next season, we'll have a lot of young players to put together in a package to land a veteran star that will put us over the top. Tha's why I'm so happy about the direction that we're taking.

I'd rather have three bad years and one relly good year, than 4 mediocre years with short and shameful playoff runs, that do nothing but make cash for the owners."

Gravatar This little nugget of sheer, unadulterated ignorance is also worthy of mention, courtesy of LongTimeFan on Real BM. I swear to God computers are too damn cheap:

"There is a logical reason we draft better than other teams. Our ranking system is simply better. We have objective measures and understandings that give us, the Celtics, a more accurate appreciation of the where these young guys will end up. Our talent projection measure is simply better than other teams.

So for us Rondo looks top five. Other GM's dismiss him for not having a jump shot.

So if we have Wright over Durant and we get the #2 pick, we'll trade down and get whatever we can for the #2.

There was an interview last year where DA was asked how he knew Rondo was top five. As he started to answer, he realised that he'd be giving away trade secrets and he stammered for about thirty seconds. Then he answered how Rondo's measurables were so great for PG. That is he said they decided based on information everyone knew.

Durant and Oden may be annointed by the prevailing wisdom, but the Celtics' wisdom is simply much better than the prevailing wisdom. One of these two may have peaked or be near his peak.

DA's interviews I think are largely accurate in general. Right now he's looking at the numbers and they look very similar at the top."

Gravatar that has to be a joke right?

Ainge's talent projection is better than the rest of the league's HAHAHAHAHA!!!

Gravatar LOL. We have those special objectives measures and understandings that enable us to select players capable of losing 18 games in a row.

Gravatar Yes, I believe LongTimeFan is the new early front-runner for dumbest fucking Celtics fan on Earth.

Gravatar I still can't understand why no one seems to acknowledge that the reason Danny's drafts (other than Al) seem good is because the team is so fucking bad that even fucking idiots like Telfair get a chance to play. And Doc is such a fucking idiot that he wouldn't play Al until both Pierce and Perk were injured. Sorry, can I say "idiot" on this site.

Anyhow, love the name "RealBM".

Gravatar Yeah anon, I tried pointing out the "good stats bad team" thing over there a couple of times. I gave examples like Lionel Simmons and Dana Barros. It's tough to reason with a group of people who honestly believe this was a 45-55 win team that just suffered a few too many injuries. And I agree, RealBM - a great name!!

Gravatar Today's Celtics Internet Dolt of the Day:

"My jaw is still on the ground.

"average"? That means 50% of the GMs in the L find guys after pick 20 who end up being top 10 in their class (West, Allen, Gomes, Rondo) and do it year after year...? Please name the other GMs that have done that 4 times in the last 4 years."

Green Machine, RealBM.

The struggle with finding one of these insane posts each day, fellas, is restricting myself to one or two.

There are so many.

Gravatar Here's the kicker to poor old Green Machine.

The one guy who you could legitimately make that argument about, Jefferson, isn't on his list.

Sheesh.

Gravatar Another interesting characteristic of the Kool-Aid Krew is that whenever Ainge talks up a prospect, and said player ends up sucking - they say that Ainge was just throwing up a smokescreen to get who he wanted. In 2004 I am pretty sure he would've drafted Swift or Bassy had they been avaliable - this theory is further supported by the fact that Ainge traded for Bassy last year. - indictating that he still thought highly of the Through The Fire star. Yet both were off the board and he had to settle for Jefferson.

Take 2003 for example - everyone and their mom knew he liked Banks - no one bit with an earlier pick - and Danny took his man. Passing up David West, Diaw, Barbosa, and Howard - and then passing on Barbosa and Howard again to take Perk.

Gravatar Good illustration of exactly how well our hero actually drafts - not that logic will ever enter into any discussion on RealBM.

Gravatar Here's another pearl from LTF on RealBM, this time extoling the virtues of none other than Leon Powe:

"I think the Celtics like him quite a bit. He's longer than most people think. He's tough and pretty skilled around the basket. He plays both ends of the court pretty well. One of our regular posters puts his standing reach at 9' 2" which is really very good for a PF.

The only question mark is his knees and so far they've held up very well.

http://www.82games.com/0607/0607BOS.HTM

If you look at the numbers on Powe he did pretty well. Certainly better than most Celtics. Positive + / - and a positive net PER. That is actually quite good for a rookie.

I'd say your 1st round pick might be enough. If there is something we really like still on the board. I'd say right now the pick isn't quite good enough."

I'm beginning to think we can switch the Dolt of the Day post to the LBF Stupid Shit of the Day post.

Gravatar JJ, you have to understand that these are the equivalents to Lenin's "useful idiots". They are the same people who were insisting as late as last season that Delonte West was going to be a great point guard in this league. They're the same people who were looking at Telfair as the next Nash. They don't understand that a player isn't automatically great just because he's wearing the team's uniform.

Gravatar Chortle. Useful idiots, indeed.

It comes down to this: Anyone who's a positivist can say anything - no matter how stupid it may be - and be acclaimed because they're optimistic and that's cool.

Anyone who may try to inject some iota of basketball intelligence into the discussion - which is going to be painful when you've won 24 games, 4 with the players who for three years have been hailed as the franchise's salvation - is a messenger who must be killed.

Kind of humorous, actually.

Back tomorrow with Wednesday's Internet Dolt of the Day.

Gravatar Hell, why wait for tomorrow.

Darth Celtic on RealBM proposes swapping Durant for Marion and probably Horford or Brewer, et al.

"well, if we get 2, and they get 4. I would trade wally, bassy (ending deal) and the 2 and 32 for marion 4 and 24. we still get a good young prospect in a great draft, a late gem danny likes to get, and for not much more money get a vet in his prime the same age as paul that will really add to our team.

Those people don't think before they post, clearly.

Gravatar Today's Dolt of the Day, narrowly edging out Dolt HOFer TLee:

"Al Jefferson >>> KG >>> Duncan

How about them apples?

Before all is over he'll be better than both those players.

Pierce + Jefferson + Another all-star = championship next year."

- pierceainge17.

Honorable mention for the most doltish screen name of the day.

Gravatar haha. but in pierceainge17's defense, he's probably just an enthusiastic 12 year old.

Gravatar We have a winner in Thursday's "Internet Dolt of the Day" competition: Perk, from www.celticnation.com, who proposes this giveaway of Paul Pierce:

If the C's miraculously land Durant, do we trade...

-------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------

"Pierce to Phoenix.

Trade Checker:

Boston trades Pierce, Gomes, Telfair, 32nd pick

Phoenix trades Raja Bell, Kurt Thomas, James Jones, Eric Piatkowski, 4th pick, 24th pick

Boston drafts:

2.) Durant
4.) Brandan Wright or Yi Jianlian
24.) Tiago Splitter

Starting 5:

1.) Rondo
2.) Bell
3.) Durant
4.) Yi Jianlian or Brandan Wright
5.) Jefferson

Next 5:

1.) Delonte West
2.) Gerald Green
3.) Wally Z
4.) Splitter/Thomas
5.) Perk

Alright Pierce lovers, calm down, let me explain. Let me start by saying I have always appreciated and enjoyed what Pierce has brought to this franchise. Pierce is the best player since Bird, and brought the C's out of misery which was the Celtics post Larry Legend. I was disgusted with the way Pierce acted during the 05 playoffs. Then, he resurrected my confidence in him as a leader in the 06 season when Pierce finally decided to trust his teammates, and let everyone touch the ball. Unfortunately, Pierce has been adamant about trading our top 5 pick for a vet, and whinning about how he isn't getting enough endorsement money because his team sucks.

The fact of the matter is, Pierce is 30 years old, and might be really good for another 2-3 years, but will rapidly decline after that. Even with Durant and Pierce, the C's aren't going to win anything. By the time Durant realizes he's the next Michael Jordan, Al is a consistent 22 and 10 guy, Rondo learns to shoot, Gerald learns how to play D and when to shoot, Pierce will be over the hill and a shadow of his former self.

This might set the C's back a year, but to maximize Durants potential, who will undoubtedly be a far superior player to Pierce, you need to hand the franchise to Durant and Jefferson and let them roll with it. Yao recently called Yi Jianlian the next Amare Stoudemire. Obviously there is the whole China connection, but I definitely feel that Yi's natural athleticism, excellent shot mechanics, and 7 foot+ frame make him a potential all star at the 4 position.

The questions Danny has to ask himself, will Pierce's attitude change when he doesn't get the veteran presence he asks for? Will Pierce go back to the spoiled brat he has shown on more than one occasion? Will Pierce hinder the development of Durant? Will Pierce hinder the chances of the C's winning a title by preventing Durant's development, and preventing other potential players on the C's like Gerald Green and Tony Allen? Will Pierce's overblown contract prevent the C's from signing players like Al Jefferson? Was Pierce's health issues last season the beginning of a trend?

I'm not a Pierce hater. I'd be estatic if Pierce continued to embrace the lea

Gravatar It hurt to even read that. The number one reason, among others, is that I absolutely can not stand Raja Bell. If Ainge's track record of getting players that I absolutely hate is any indication (Dickau, Scalabrine, Olowokandi) - Chances are Bell will be in Green at some point! I just never considered this a possibility until now. I'm still expecting the announcement that the Celtics have reached a 6-year agreement with Keith Van Horn at some point this summer.

Gravatar Oh, yeah. Six years, $48 million or some ungodly sum.

Gravatar Hey, at least it gets rid of Telfair. As we know, Danny has admittedly put himself into the position of haveing to trade to get rid the idiots he has acquired rather than trading to get good players.

Gravatar A Friday pearl of wisdom from Long Time Fan, author of that idiotic paean to Ainge's draft genius:

"We think he could be an all-star if he comes back. He can go into a zone and take over a game on the defensive end. It is pretty amazing to watch.

However, he can go into a zone and make a needless dunk and hurt his knee badly.

We like him. Who knows what the rest of the NBA thinks. He plays a very dangerous game. Who knows if he'll last."

Gravatar On January 10th, 2007, I decided to go to the TD Banknorth Garden to watch the Boston Celtics live. I had shitty seats - I think I was in the $22.50 section if I remember correctly. The game itself wasn't worth the price of admission. Perk had a patented 30-minute 8-point 4-rebound game and Jefferson only had 4 points in the loss - but seeing Tony Allen tear three ligaments in his knee ten seconds after the whistle made the trip worthwhile.

I actually wondered if he had been shot the way he layed there not moving. What shocked me the most was that the Celtics didn't even send the trainer out. 2 Celtics scrubs carried him off the court one held him from under his arms - and the other held him BY HIS KNEES!!!! HAHAHAHAHAA!!!!

Gravatar Where has our fearless leader been? PLEASE tell me the Dr. is working on something... New post either pre or post lottery!! Come on!!!!!

Gravatar Bill Simmons frequently leaves me scratching my head, but he's spot on here. I'm ambivalent about trhe trade, but not with the characterization of anyone happy with the current state of the Celtics as an under-80 IQ dolt:

"Speaking of trades, if the Celtics get the No. 2 pick and take Kevin Durant, here's the deal I want them to offer G-State: Paul Pierce, Bassy Telfair, Bassy Telfair's gun collection and the No. 32 pick for Jason Richardson, Monta Ellis, the No. 18 pick and Sarunas Jasikevicius' expiring contract. And while I'm doing requests for the Celtics, here's another one ...

Wyc, Danny, Doc ... you guys all need to shut your traps. Seriously. Stop giving interviews. Stop telling your disgruntled fan base that you could have made the playoffs if not for so many injuries. Stop raving about your fantastic young nucleus of players and how they're in such high demand. Stop talking about Doc's great coaching when he won 56 games in two seasons. Stop sounding so freaking smug about everything. Just stop. Don't say another word until May 23. And if you don't start showing some humility and urgency about what happened the past two seasons, and you don't start recognizing that your fans are legitimately concerned that none of you have any idea what you're doing, here's what will happen: you're going to get written off by the majority of your entire fan base (basically, everyone with an IQ better than 80) until all three of you are gone.

It happened to Jeremy Jacobs, Harry Sinden and the Bruins; it's going to happen to you. You've reached that do-or-die point with your fans and season-ticket holders -- trust me, I'm getting the e-mails every day -- and the fact that none of you realize it is more disturbing than anything. So stop talking. Wait to see what happens with the Ping-Pong balls next Tuesday. You have to believe me, I'm speaking for just about everyone who loves your team. The lack of humility and urgency after two straight crappy seasons has been appalling. I can't emphasize that strongly enough."

Gravatar Agreed JJ. I don't know if I agree with that trade idea, but the message to Celts management is on point.

Gravatar From our dear, dear friends at CelticsBlah:

"Day-by-day, as the lottery nears, it gets more nerve racking. Each day, I become more anxious. I am literally losing my mind.

Words cannot express how important this day is to me. I still remember the Tim Duncan nightmare. I cried.....Yes... I admit it. I cried like a sissy. I cannot go through that again. My therapist has told me that I should leave the C's alone but I can't. This is the year we come back,
I can't eat. I can't sleep. I've actually lost 15 pounds the past few months. It's the first thing on my mind when I wake up, and last thing on my mind when I sleep.
I almost hit a parked cop car the other day when I was doing mock draft scenarios in my head while driving on 495.
My grades during finals week tanked more than the Celtics did."

Perhaps it makes me a bad fan, but I seldom get this worked up about anything, unless a loved one is awaiting a cancer test or something like that.

I'm certainly not going to get that worked up about anything in the hands of a cheapskate who gave us Powe's Hos, an idiot who traded a lottery pick for Sebustian Telfailure and a guy who can't coach.

Gravatar LOL

Gravatar Oops sorry that was me not Anonymous. Also, I really hope that wasn't Jeff who wrote that..

Gravatar Chortle.

Well, I'm not gonna worry about something that's probably going to be fucked up anyway - by the Dubya, Cheney and Rumsfeld of the NBA.

Gravatar Anyone else see Jeff's ugly ass in the Metro today? LOL - just kidding, Jeff. He started out good - If the pingpong balls come up in their favor, they could be on the way to banner No. 17." - before pussing out - "If not, well, who knows how bad it could get?"

I am pretty sure we all know how bad it could get. Without going into too much detail "With the 3rd pick in the 2007 NBA Draft, the Boston Celtics select: Another ten years of mediocrity and losing!"

Gravatar Yi Whingding, the 7-foot project from across the pond.

Yeah, without Oden or Durant to force the Three Stooges out of management wilderness, none of us may live long enough to see another Celtics banner.

Gravatar We all know how bad it can get. Or did we already forget watching Sebustian Telfailure and Allan "the anti-Ray Allen" Ray tank the last half of the season.

Gravatar Totally, irrevocably fucked.

Fire all of them.

Gravatar yep.

Gravatar Whoohoo! Fifth pick. Fuck you, Danny!

Gravatar Wow if we end up taking someone like Julian Wright, that would cruel and unusual punishment.

If we can get Brandon Wright i'll be pleasanty surprised.

Gravatar Can we trade the pick for Junior Harrington, the third string point guard on the worst team in the NBA?

Gravatar LOL. I think it's about the 20th time I've said it this year but... we could've had Brandon Roy!!

Gravatar Now we can watch in horror as Danny tries to salvage Celtic Nation's spirits with one of his patented trades..

Gravatar Anyone got an over and under until those stupid CelticsBlah fucks begin firing out their predictions of greatness?

Gravatar Is Roy Hibbert out in this draft? I think he coul d be a better pick up than Oden... He hustles down the floor and All through out throught the tourney Oden's team played better with him in foul trouble on the bench...But then again I'm just an idiot.

Gravatar Before Danny trades for Keith Van Horn or Michael Doleac, he will tell the media how he had hoped for a top five pick.

Gravatar The pick HAS to be traded. There's no way this franchise can go forward with yet another fucking project and further pleas for patience from the stupid shits in the front office.

Gravatar Could this be the end of the "happy camper" bullshit as Chestnutt called it from the Kool-Aid crew? Will Celtics fans demand drastic change and accountability from this organization? Ainge fucked up and didn't get lucky enough to walk ass-backwards into a respectable legacy. He got what he deserved tonight.

Gravatar Good question, EJ.
Let me pose it to some of our favorite lurkers.

When are you going to man up and admit that Ainge and the Banker Boy have fucked this franchise up beyond all recognition?

When are you going to get off the company payroll and begin demanding accountability for the demolition of a proud NBA franchise?

Gravatar So we get Telfailure and Portland gets Raef and Oden?

Gravatar "Anyone got an over and under until those stupid CelticsBlah fucks begin firing out their predictions of greatness?
Jungle Jim | 05.22.07 - 9:26 pm | # "

There were those preaching it even before the lottery, with or without Oden or Durant. You see, last year was just because of injuries. Just ask Doc.

Gravatar We shoulda sent Telfair to represent the C's at the lottery. Afterall, he was a major contributor to the final tank effort.

Gravatar I did find it fitting that it was Brandon Roy who saw Portland getting that pick while Boston got the #5.

Gravatar Sad to see people with so little pride that they humiliate themselves with moronic statements like that, Scintan.

The gig is up. Grousbeck, Ainge and Rivers have done enough damage to this franchise. Get rid of every last fucking one of them.

Gravatar Luckily, our problems are solved. Daveisceltics on Realgm proposes that we trade Gerald Green and the #5 pick to Seattle for the #2, since "They (Seattle) obviously need more than one impact player to be good next year."

fucking idiots

Gravatar The fucking dolt moderators on RealBM are shitcanning anyone with a discouraging word over there.

I refuse to lower myself to checking all the idiotic bullshit on CelticsBlah.

There is no intellectual argument that can be offered in defense of the Three Fucking Stooges running this ballclub.

Somewhere tonight, Red is smoking a stogie and telling Bias and Reggie, "Look at it this way. At least we don't have to watch that bullshit in person."

Gravatar I'm in the Celticsblah chat right now. They're blasting Stern for rigging the lottery and plotting to draft Conley so that Oden will force a trade to Boston...sigh...

Gravatar Yeah. Mike Conley will help this team get to about 28 wins next year.

Dolts, one and all.

Gravatar Here's a note to all those whining fucks.

Stern didn't destroy the Boston Celtics. Wyc Grousbeck and Danny Ainge did, aided and abetted by Doc Rivers.

Dumbshits.

Gravatar Getting the 5th pick has taken years off of Tommy Heinson's life. I say he keels over yelling at the broadcaster's table by game number 6 in the season

Gravatar Well I'm going to have to agree that Boston needs to try to make a trade. Even if healthy this team was going to win 30-35 games - and the 5th pick won't improve that outlook very much.

Additionally, the 5th pick will most likely be another PROJECT. My god I am tired of hearing that word. If they could get Gasol for the 5th and any part of the massive heap of crap that lost 18 straight they've got to do it. Maybe Seattle with Durant and Allen will look to move Lewis. Why Memphis or Seattle would trade these players for our pick + our crap is beyond me, but hopefully someone out there overvalues Green and Rondo and/or others...

Pierce's deal has crippled the Celtics' ability to improve via free agency, the team is just mediocre enough to prevent it from drastically improving via the draft - and unless there is a fucking miracle and Rondo, Green, Kendrick freaking Perkins and Tony Fucking Allen morph into all-stars - this team is fucked without a trade.

Due to the poor showing of the kids in Pierce's absence, I doubt that the kids even have enough value to be included as a key part in a deal for a star.

So according to my count we have a shitty 24-win team, a bunch of players that aren't valuable enough to bring back good players in a trade, no salary cap flexibility, and we got deuced on in the lottery. FUCK

Well, at least we have a GM that we can always count on to make excellent trades.....Oh wait.... FUCK AGAIN!!

Gravatar How long until we become the "Las Vegas Celtics"?
Danny and Doc need to be fired, then we just have to ride out this wave of shit and rebuid the way Chicago has.

Gravatar Oh I almost forgot Option C: Trade Pierce, blow up the team, build through high lottery picks.

The Celtics demonstrated last year that they are about a 6-win team without Pierce and since they're dammed if they do and dammed if they don't since they didn't get 1 or 2 - The logical thing to do (as it has been for years) - would be to blow up the team.

But our GM + Owner team doesn't have the nuts to seriously rebuild this team.

Gravatar Exactly Anon. It'll take the team at least until Pierce's extention runs out to recover from this shitshow.

Gravatar Jim, I think this post has a good start on your "internet dolt of the day" competition:

"Good post, especially the part in bold. In some respects, getting the 5th pick is a positive for Ainge, at least in terms of hi-lighting Ainge's value to the team. I don't agree with a lot of what Ainge has done since coming to Boston, but the one thing he has been great at is finding gems in the draft. Had we gotten the number one pick in the draft, Ainge's one true talent as a general manager would have been wasted this draft. Now he gets his chance to work his magic and maybe find a player at 5 that should have been drafted top 3."

Gravatar For the love of God, Scintan, you're right. That is one of the dumbest Internet posts I've ever seen.

Gravatar I have to acknowledge that the Anon above, who makes a good point, is not me.

Anyhow, Bob Ryan writes, "Was it decided that 16 championships in 30 years was somehow unfair and obscene, and that enough was enough and the Celtics are never going to get another break again and that's that?"

Uhm, no, Bob, but the way the Celts Sebastian Tankfaired the end of the season was certainly obscene enough to preclude deserving any breaks in the lottery.

Gravatar It's staggering, really, when you stop and catalog the damage done to this franchise, and it isn't about luck, with all due respect to Bob Ryan.

The only path now is to start dealing. See if you can get Memphis drunk enough to move Gasol, and unlimber the check book enough for a veteran 1 or 2.

My guess, though, is that the fucking cheapskate at the helm will continue pimping potential to the Legion of Fucking Dolts who've bought into that nonsense for the past four years.

Gravatar I can't get over this tanking thing. Do we all really believe that Danny's going to call Coc into his office and say, "OK, you can go ahead and start winning now." What will be the excuse this time? Oh yeah, we didn't get Oden or Durant.

Gravatar I think it was a hush hush agreement. Coc sat out his entire starting lineup during the 4th quarter of games in an attempt to tank and his ass-buddy Danny acknowledged that this was indeed what he wanted. I'm not sure anyone ever explicitly said "Let's tank!!" Coc, a coach who isn't fit for much more than tanking was extended as a reward for tanking and putting Danny in a position to come out of rolling around in shit smelling like roses.

THEN - The Celtics crapped out in the lottery and got the 5th pick. And now Danny has a shitty coach that he kept around only because he thought he was getting Oden or Durant.

I mean it's possible that I'm just pissed off and not thinking rationally but am I too far off-base here?

I'd like to conclude this venting session with a simple message: Fuck you, Danny!

Gravatar Also is it fair to combine last year's Telfair trade with the results of this year's lottery? I know I'm reaching here, but:

Dickau, Raef, Roy, Oden

for

Telfair, Ratliff, #5 pick

Are the Celtics officially dumber than the Knicks yet?

Gravatar I don't know if we've ever been any further away from a banner than we are today.

I need a laugh. Somebody post some of the stupid homer bullshit on CelticsBlah so I can laugh at the dolts.

Gravatar I thought the 18 in a row was bad...just when you think things can't get anyworse...What's next? Danny fires Doc the hires Mike Fratello? Or worse Gerald Green becomes the next player-coach? Maybe David Stern will resign as comissioner and then take over as GM for Danny??

Gravatar Hey Jungle here's your laugh:

"Despite having the second best opportunity mathematically to land one of the top two spots, the Celtics fell to fifth while GM Danny Ainge idiotically tried to put a spin on the situation by saying he feels like the Celtics are already a playoff team."

http://www.allheadlinenews.com/a...cles/ 7007430241

Gravatar Ainge is a fucking idiot. He has to go.

Gravatar We're stuck with Ainge. And Coc. Get used to it. If I can live with the Old Bag, you guys can live with them. By the way, it took the fifth pick for the Bag to extract a booger from her nose last night. Go Green!

Gravatar Anybody who still thinks the Celtics didn't tank the end of the season is a fucking idiot. Tankfair played 33 minutes the night they sealed the second worst record. The next night he played seven minutes and Al Jeff came back from his "practice injury."

Oh, and I have to agree with EJ: Fuck you, Danny.

Gravatar If you heard Maxwell and Ainge on WEEI today, you might have gotten the sense that reality is setting in. Maxwell doesn't think this is a playoff team this season without more moves than just the pick, and Ainge all but lost it regarding the fans and patience.

I think Ainge knows his ass is on the line.

Gravatar Brian Hill gets fired for making the playoffs. Doc gets and extension for tanking the season.

Anyhow, I'd like to hear more about Ainge losing it.

Gravatar And another thing, as commentator on TNT Danny ridiculed the Celts repeatedly while covering them in the playoffs. And now after five years of his leadership, after having the second worst record in the NBA, he insists we believe that these laughingstocks, who embarrassed the sport by tanking the season, are a playoff team merely because he says so.

Hey, Danny, fuck you.

Gravatar nbadraft.net has us taking Aaron Brooks with our 2nd round pick, whose best NBA comparison is Earl Boykins. Kill me now.

Gravatar Oh man, I missed it on WEEI! Did Danny pull a Rick Patino?? How can he complain about our Patience?? It's been 20 years since we've won a championship and 19 since we've been a contender, unless you count a couple of fluke years. All I know is if I did such a shitty job at something as Danny has done I'd quit, I'd be too embarrassed with myself.

Gravatar Maravich, got to weei.com and access the audio vault. They've probably got the interview there.

Gravatar Thanks Scintan

Gravatar I propose Dr. Chestnutt's next article be titled "Fuck You, Danny."

Gravatar With the forward by Wyc Grousbeck, entitled "I'm a cheap, lying bastard."

Gravatar Ooooh. Tbe Maxwell comments - which I totally agree with, BTW - aren't going to sit well with the Legion of Dolts, who are already trying to convince themselves that this was a playoff team before injuries struck down such stalwarts as "Fuck him up" Allen and Kendrick "My shooting range is shorter than my dick" Perkins.

Gravatar Here's a special Memorial Day "Internet Dolt of the Holiday Weekend" post.

"Since the disappointment of the draft lottery, I've been searching for "the answer" for the magical roster change to make Celtics contenders. And while this may be a hard pill to swallow, I'm starting to think the team should do nothing right now.

I posted the other day that it concerns me that Pierce will be 30 years old before the season (should we trade him?). Or we could take another route
and add a veteran ... we're all excited about the idea of adding KG or
J.O'Neal to the team.

But the bottom line in all of these discussions is that we don't want to "overpay" for what we add to the team this offseason. If we bring in a vet, we don't want to give up too much. If we did trade Pierce, we don't want pennies on the dollar.

What if we do nothing?

We add the #5 pick. Should be a very attractive player available, and drafting plays to Ainge's strengths.
We add the #32 pick. We take another shot in the 2nd Round and see if Danny keeps the streak alive.

We go into the season and see if Wally is healthy. If he is, he can help our team. And either way (healthy or not), he's only on the books for another year past this upcoming one. Wally is going to start being attractive as an expiring contract as the months go by.

We keep Theo. He's going to expire this year. And if we don't get a great deal to trade him, we keep him and see if teams change their minds closer to the trading deadline.

We see Jefferson start a season with every reason to think he'll average 17-8.

We see what Gerald brings to the table in year 3. Can he be consistent?

We see a healthy Perk & Tony Allen.

We see Rondo in his 2nd year.

We still have all of our draft picks in upcoming years and the future Minny pick.

The bottom line - there's no reason to be desperate. (Had to remind myself of this.) The team should listen to offers, maybe propose some aggresive options to add a veteran at minimal cost.

BUT, there's no disaster in keeping our assets and letting them mature."

Of course, this pearl of stupidity on RealBM is followed by several posts - including one from the erstwhile moderator Super Dipshit, er, Deluxe - agreeing with the OP, and bemoaning all the unfortunate pressure AFTER FOUR FUCKING YEARS OF FAILURE that poor Danny Ainge faces.

Goddam, some of these people are stupid.

Gravatar you guys were right all along, were DOOMED! DOOMED I SAY, DOOMED!

sincerely,
celticsblah

Gravatar You know, if someone visited Wyc's private board - otherwise known as Celtics Blah - and trolled like that, Jeff, your stormtroopers would roll him out of there faster than Sebustian Telfailure can load his Glock.

Ban someone tonight, Jeff. It'll help you deal with the disappointment of being consistently wrong about the Celtics.

Gravatar Wrong, Jeff. "We're a playoff team." We just don't happen to make the playoffs.

Gravatar Ah, yes. We're a playoff team just beset with injuries that keep us out of the playoffs.

And we have terrific young talent that is the envy of the NBA.

Never mind the fact that never do the two meet in the illogical world of Grousbeck apologists.

It must really be ego-brusing to be wrong all the time.

Gravatar Yes! The youth on this team is so awesome, Danny's drafting so excellent, that the young guys actually, most of the time, beat out veterans Michael Olowakandi and Brian Scalabrine for starting roles.

Gravatar And furthermore, Celtics young "star" point guard Sebustian Telfailure, in merely 20 undeserved minutes per game, averaged nearly as many rebounds as veteran power forward Brian Scalabrine in similar undeserved minutes per game. Yes, "Fuck you" Danny Ainge has assembled a great cast of youngsters.

Gravatar Can someone explain to me why people on RealBM and Celticsblah think that other NBA teams are interested in Boston's "assets"? These kids just got creamed for 18 straight losses. Just a few months ago Wigglesfuck was chewing people out on RealBM for suggesting that Kendrick Perkins wasn't viewed as more than a throwin in any potential trades. I'd be willing to bet my own life that no NBA GM has ever hung up the phone because Danny refused to include Kendrick Perkins in a trade.

Basically Danny has spent 4 years acquiring "assets" - except his assets don't have enough value to bring back anything we'd want, like Marion or KG. So, his assets have no value, and in addition to that, they suck so badly that they won 24 games. Nice job Danny, I can see why RealBM and Celticsblah blindly support your every move. As usual - Fuck You, Danny, you suck

Gravatar Also how has JSimon not gotten the Internet Dolt of the Day award yet? His head is so far up Ainge's ass it's ridiculous.

"If we get KG without giving up Jefferson or Rondo, I guess I'm on board. Reluctantly." - JSimon, RealBM

How could you be so attached to Gomes, Telfair, Green, West, and Allen that you'd have to think, even for a second, about trading them for KG?

Gravatar Good point, EJ. I've got to take him off ignore - along with several other dumb fucks over there.

As for Wigglesfuck, he's the idiot by which all other Celtics fans will have their moronic homer bullshit stupidity judged in perpetuity.

That dumbshit predicted a 53-29 record for this fucking mess of a team this year.

And good old Jim reduced him to a quivering mess of ectoplasm by agreeing.

The Celtics will win 53 games total - just not sure in what season number 53 will arrive.

Gravatar Yeah, the team will have to win 29 games next year to get to 53 in two years. If Pierce so much as sprains an ankle it might not happen..

Gravatar God, I am gasping for air, I am laughing so hard.

This one goes into the Internet Dumbfuck Hall of Fame:

http://celtics.realgm.com/articl...ys_worst_moves/

Elrod Enchilada, a real ringleader in the Danny Defense Society. I'm surprised he isn't a CelticsBlah moderator.

Gravatar Elrod's just another idiot who continues to defend trades that even Ainge has admitted were bad. That tells you all you need to know about him. Ainge has conceded that the first Walker trade was bad. Any homer who doesn't admit to the same, obvious conclusion, should be banned from ever working in a job involving even the most mundane of decisions. Anything above the mental gymnastics caused by asking "Do you want fries with that?" should be barred from these clowns.

Gravatar Or perhaps Elrod could be Secretary of State or work in the Department of "Justice". Maybe there's an opening at FocksNews?

Gravatar LOL - I'm not sure what's funnier, Will "Wigglestrue" Roberts predicting that last year's abomination would go 53-29 - or Elrod claiming that Walker for Raef, who was in the 2nd year of a 7-year $70million dollar deal and fresh off a career best season in which he averaged 13ppg 7rpg - could go down as "one for the ages"

I'm pretty sure Danny could've traded for some late first round picks without taking on one of the worst contracts in the entire league for a player who was going to expire at the end of the season. Hell, if he could put together a winning season he'd EARN all the late first round picks he ever wanted. Winning is apparantly out of the question with this team, though.

Gravatar FAR more important to protect one's ego than it is to have a serious, accurate conversation about the Boston Celtics, as we've seen here in the not too distant past.

Elrod is what he is: Yet another Celtics homer who isn't about to admit that he's been Don Rumsfeld-style consistently wrong about this franchise.

He's most assuredly not alone.

Gravatar For your reading hilarity, I highly recommend the self-congratulatory bullshit that follows Elrod's ignorance on RealBM.

Two really big laughs in one weekend. You can't buy idiots like these.

Gravatar Be sympathetic to Elrod. All the spinning and lies might have given him cancer like it did to Tony Snow.

Fuck you, Danny.

Gravatar I don't visit RealBM often, so maybe one of you guys could propose this trade:

Our #5 pick + Telfair + TA + Rondo + Perk + West + Green + Ray + Powe + Scal + Wally + Kandi + Theo...

for...

Portland's #1 pick.

Because, you know, we have all these assets.

Oh, I almost forgot: Fuck you, Danny.

Gravatar His bullshit is so simplistic and so ignorant of the performance on the floor that he must be getting two free courtside seats from Wyc.

Gravatar This nonsense is from Shocker on RealBM. I'm guessing Vicodin and vodka produced this brilliance:

"Danny has proven he can judge draft talent effectively and get players who perform above their picks, and with this being an extremely deep draft combined with the fact outside of top 2 many players seem to be around same talent level.

Trade

To Philly
#5 2007 draft
#32 2007 draft
Theo Ratliff
Sebastion Telfair
Allan Ray

To Boston
Samuel Dalembert
Kevin Ollie
#12
#21
#30

Then with the 3 picks, go with something like

Thaddeus Young
Rudy Fernandez/Josh McRoberts/Acie Law
Sean Williams/Morris Almond/Nick Fazekas"

Gravatar Today's winner for "Dolt of the Day" is Darth Celtic from Real BM, for this self-indulgent post about how to become a moderator on "the best Real GM board."

If that one's the best, someone remind me to stay the hell away from the others.

"you become a mod by being involved in a board, not getting warnings of any kind, acting mature,(editor's note: AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH YOU? AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA) and showing you can argue a point without making it personal. Now, at times we'll put up an announcement that we are thinking about getting another mod, and one of us will say you can pm us if interested, we then take all our guys, and all the guys that pm'd us, and decide among ourselves who the best 2-3 guys are, then we go to howard and he interviews and decides.

Gravatar Haha, because Darth never insults people, calls topics stupid, or locks threads because he doesn't agree with them.

Also Anon - I'm pretty sure if I proposed that trade on RealBM, Wigglestrue and JSimon would reply within 15 minutes asking me why I'd include a lock-down post defender (Perkins), a lockdown wing defender who can score 25ppg (Allen), the next Nash once he develops a jumpshot (Rondo), Wally who is still capable of being the team's second scorer if healthy, and a shot at Yi Jainlin, who I am pretty sure they think is a lock for 30ppg 15rpg - just for Oden!! Then if I or anyone else used a modicum of logic or reason in a response darth, superdeuce, and the rest of the mod crew wouldn't be far behind with their sarcastic, yet fatally flawed arguments.

We'll see how this offseason plays out, but I'm pretty sure when it's all said and done we'll still be saying "fuck you, Danny"

Gravatar Yeah. It will surprise me if Ainge makes any moves to actually improve the product on the floor.

They'll draft Yi - why? kind of poetic, isn't it? - or some major project like Julian Wright, then resume the "Oh, my God. Isn't all our young talent exciting?" drum.

And the lemmings at CelticsBlah and RealBM will fall in line, like Republicans on Iraq.

And we'll lose 50 or more games. And the Doomers will continue to laugh at the stupdity of the Aingeistas.

Gravatar I can see why jungle jim can't post in the other forum. Can't get a sentence out without the word fuck. And sounds like an incoherent dumbfuck when talking politics...or anything else for that matter. I'm sure that those two patriots, (you know, the drunk that should be in prison...and Pariah Lurch, who voted for it before he voted against it..)not to mention the limp-wristed congressman that you blindly vote for while you're going down 495 would "lead" us a whole lot better....while they bankrupt people with actual jobs....I'm sure you think they could do a whole lot better than the current C's management.

Not everybody wants to hear your ignorance, jim. I check in every once in awhile to see if the good Doctor has something to say. Then just read piles and piles of blithering profane lunacy from all of the ignoramouses who have the combined vocabulary of a gangsta rapper...and thankfully don't post on the other forum. Think you can make your point with Dictionary words??...just for fun?

We don't miss you, jim.

Gravatar "I can see why jungle jim can't post in the other forum. Can't get a sentence out without the word fuck...

We don't miss you, jim.
shak | 05.30.07 - 4:54 pm | # "

Given the the post just above yours was from Jim and didn't contain a single usage of the word "fuck", perhaps the dumb fuck is you....

Gravatar Always good to hear from the CelticsBlah idiots, including the ringmaster.

Keep them coming, morons.

Gravatar Chuckle. Well said, Scintan - as usual.

The pain of ignorance about all things Celtics, politics and apparently punctuation continues to be all-pervasive among the faithful few who still believe.

Gravatar I find it amusing to watch people who've gone through the past two seasons of 33 and 24 wins turn around and call the people who've been saying that the team is not that good and wasn't going to be winning 40+ games "ignorant".

Gravatar Me too, Scintan.

Hey, guys. Newbie here. Longtime college coach and Celtics fan heartsick over the excuses being made for what Wyc and Ainge have done to this franchise.

And former CelticsBlah - hahaha, love that - member who's tired of the basketball ignorance on the net.

You guys have a great site. More basketball wisdom in this thread than CelticsBlah and RealGM combined. All the proof you need is the nitwits from those boards trolling this thread. They're jealous.

Travel a lot. Can't post much. But love the dialogue. Wish you guys were running the club.

Gravatar Welcome aboard, Truth. Good to have another coach involved.

You'll find a lot of honesty here about the Celtics that you certainly won't find anywhere else on the net.

We're all pretty like-minded here, but all opinions are welcome.

You'll also find that we're about demanding accountability - instead of offering up disingenuous excuses - for the mess the Celtics are in.

Good to have you, Truth.

Gravatar Thank you, Jim.

One more thing before my next trip:

Loved your analogy about the Republicans - nothing could be more spot on.

But here's the thing: Neither group is ever going to admit they were wrong - the Ainge defenders or the 28 percenters. It's probably a waste of time trying to convince them.

You guys have a perfect handle on the state of the Celtics. Keep stating your case, and keep irritating those who don't get it.

Adios for a spell.

Gravatar Isn't that precious, Shak missed Jim so much that he left his native Celticsblog and read 240 replies here so that he could figure out what Jim had been talking about since he left Celticsblah - and then all he could comment on was the usage of the word "fuck" and Jim's political discourse. In other words, Shak was completely wrong about the Celtics and wanted to turn this into a personal battle. Also, speaking of dictionary words, it's "Ignoramus", jackass!

Gravatar Almost forgot: Fuck you, Danny! And if anyone is interested in a good laugh, just cut and paste Shak's post into Word and run a spell check. He wrote about 3 sentences and my spell/grammar check lit up double digit times. Nice work, Shak, it almost takes skill to type like that much of a dumbfuck!!

Gravatar I'm so deeply flattered to have a fan, albeit an illiterate one.

Truth, your point is well-taken. The anonymity of the Internet allows even the most absurd of posters to escape accountability for their errors.

I suspect we're all frustrated by the clear lack of progress this franchise is making. Especially today, when rumors surfaced that the idiot GM is preparing to throw the draft pick away on a massive Chinese project - and the resurfacing of trade rumors surrounding the one consistent player we have.

No argument here with trading Pierce - I just fear that it will be for more draft picks, or some ridiculous return like Earl Boykins, or a combination thereof.

Gravatar And lest I forget:

Fuck you, Danny.

Gravatar Well, at least there is still plenty of time before the draft. After workouts Yi could fall right off the radar. Then again, Danny is a fucking idiot, so chances are he has already made up his mind. Afterall, we did all know he was going to draft Marcus Banks ages before the draft, too.

Gravatar Ugh. I have to agree with that, EJ. I have this awful feeling that the idiot is going to draft the Chinese Hank Finkel.

BTW, no need yesterday to announce an Internet Dolt of the Day.

He announced himself.

Stay tuned for today's dumbass Celtics post of the day.

Gravatar Ding, ding, ding.

Today's winner is "Gerald Green 5" from Real BM

"It's amazing how the grass is always greener on the other side. There's no one in this draft outside of Durant who has Gerald's scoring ability. Outside of the top 2, every player in this draft either has loads of holes (see Brewer, Cory) just like Gerald, or has limited upside (see Green, Jeff)."

Gravatar How about Pierce, the #5 pick, and the rights to Wigglestrue and Darth Celtic for Kobe?

LA gets a player who will replace 80% of Kobe's effectiveness, a draft pick that will enable them to draft a PF to replace Kwame Brown, and 2 fanbois who will blindly support their incompetent GM's every move, with years of experience defending Pierce as if their life depended on it.

Boston gets a chance to sniff a .500 record again, and a player who virtually ensures that Allen and Green never dribble the ball, and Rondo and Perkins never shoot it. Also Pierce is from Inglewood so he'd enjoy going to LA, and Boston fans already chant "MVP" for Kobe anyways so the transition would be a natural one.

Gravatar Damn, man, that is pure genius.

LA gets a good player, a good pick and a couple of 50 IQ hangers-on to blow Jerry Buss and Phillip at every turn.

Make it happen, Danny.

Gravatar EJ, HAHAHA!! great post. I'm on board with trading everything but Al for Kobe we'll throw in the scoreboard, the dancers, a sycophant owner, and about 10 "blogs" devoted to how great the Celtics and Danny Ainge are.

for a laugh listen to CSL. One of the hosts was claiming Oden or Durant would have prevented the Celtics from becoming a running team and the Celts are better off without them. HAHAHHAHAHA!!!!

Gravatar Anyone got an over and under on the first idiotic comparison between Lebron and a Celtics slug?

I can see it now: "Delonte West is a poor man's Lebron James."

Gravatar I'll bet $10 on the under at 24 hours, $10 on the player being Gerald Green, and $10 on the forum being RealBM. I'd also like to parlay those 3 bets for an additional $10.

Also at 10:1 odds, I'll put down another $10 that the poster will be PierceAinge17.

My prediction: "LeBron was awesome last night! He is the man at driving! If he had Gerald's athleticism, he'd be better than Jordan right now!"

"How about them apples? Before this is over, he'll be better than both those players!" - PierceAinge17

Gravatar LeBron only wishes he had Gerald's athleticism and Delonte's basketball IQ (not to mention Scal's intangibles).

Gravatar Wait a minute...

Wait...

Wait...

WAIT FOR IT!!!

Here comes...

FUCK YOU DANNY!!

Gravatar Couldn't have said it better myself.

Gravatar Our "Internet Dolt of the Day" winner, from Celtic-Nation.com

DnnyBoy - hence the flaws. He thinks the below deal is "giving up the farm" for Kevin Garnett.

"Billy, we would be trading the farm for Garnett! How many quality years does he have left??? (Not to mention the cap hit we would take.)

I'm tired of potential players as much as the next guy but come on...

Wally and Ratliff are expendable. But to give up on Green and whoever we pick at #5 would be suicide in the tradition of trades like where we gave away Chauncey Billups and Joe Johnson.

Be patient man. With a roster full of healthy players the Celts will prove that we have a team full of ready talent. Don't give in to Paul Pierce's wants. It would be nice to have a big name veteran, but not at the expense of all we worked so hard for (Green) and what we didn't work so hard for (#5 pick)."

Try not to yank your hair out over this one.

Gravatar With that said, Celtic Nation is one of the good forums out there, with intelligent moderators who understand basketball - and the Celtics mess.

Recommend it highly.

Gravatar looks like Ainge is going to give up Corey Brewer for Robert Swift or Nick Collison. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

It's going to take 15 years to get over the shit Ainge has done to this franchise.

Gravatar None of the stupid shit I hear attached to Ainge surprises me.

That would be very little value for the 5, but who among us thinks Ainge will actually do something intelligent with the pick anyway?

It'll be fun to watch the CelticsBlah and RealBM dumbfucks try to defend that one.

Gravatar That would be very little value for the 5, but who among us thinks Ainge will actually do something intelligent with the pick anyway?

----------------------------

Probably the same number of people who think you would actually post something intelligent.

Gravatar Nice, a complete sentence with no spelling errors. I can see you've been practicing. Keep up the good work!

Gravatar Dictionaries work wonders, as does spell-check.

Gravatar In a way, this part of the season is a blessing. Sure, the Celtics aren't anywhere remotely near playing in the NBA finals - but since other teams are still playing - it is actually against the rules for Danny to make an ill-advised trade. We won't be as fortunate, and will be living in constant fear all summer as absurd rumors around the league begin to pick up steam. Think about it. It's only June and we've already heard "Nate Robinson" and "Robert Swift". This could get real ugly.

Gravatar Another RealBM idiot, responding to another idiotic trade post - this time Kobe and 19 for Pierce, Green, Allen and 5:

34Celtic is today's Internet Dolt of the Day:

"we can't give up both...I think I'd rather have GG because of his upside."

Gravatar Watching "Celtics Dynasty" right now on NBA-TV.
Red, Russell, Havlicek. all the great moments.

And it brings home - even more vividly - how ineptly and incompetently this team is being operated by the idiot in the owners office and the even bigger moron in the GM's office.

And to think that this kind of management incompetence, which has turned this franchise into a cartoon of its former self, is tolerated and even defended by some is simply mind-boggling.

To the defenders of the morons running this franchise, what say you? How in hell can you defend Grousbeck and Ainge?

Gravatar JJ, if you want to see how the homers can defend them, just go take a look at all the trade threads. Check this post out, for example:

"Jefferson and the 5 for LeBron James"

There are others from various sites, but I think that this sort of thinking goes a long way to explaining it.

Gravatar I imagine so, Scintan.

I can only assume it's one of two things:

- the young people who've never experienced the Celtics' success;

or

- the Internet "no one knows who I really am, so I don't have to ever admit that I'm an idiot who wouldn't understand basketball if one hit me in the face" crowd.

Or both, since some of our friendly boards seem to require both for registration.

Gravatar Immersed amidst all the stupdity on Real BM this morning is this thread title:

"Danny Ainge: Liar or Idiot," by Grant Long for President.

Could it be? A sighting of intelligent life on Real BM?

Gravatar I would love to get LeBron, but we can't give up Al or Delonte or Perk or Gerald or TA or Rondo or Powe or Allan Ray. We have to keep this nucleus together! How about Scal and the #5? Well, we would miss Scal's intangibles. Telfair and the #5? Well, we might need Bastardy to help us tank next season. How 'bout Kandi?

Gravatar Hahaha Anon. That is the gist of pretty much every trade proposal on RealBM. I could see being mystified by the potential of young players on the hometown team - but how these morons ever convinced themselves that Leon Powe is a valuable asset to this team is beyond me. I remember after the Celtics drafted him someone on RealBM said "This guy sounds like another Amare Stoudemire." Yeah, exactly what I think of when I watch Leon Powe. Amare fucking Stoudemire!!

Also Grant Long For President's post was good. Why do we know who the Celtics are going to draft almost every year? When the Patriots go up to draft no one has any idea who they are going to pick. How could it possibly help for Danny to sit around saying who he likes in the draft?

Fuck you Danny!

Gravatar I've said it before I'll say it a thousand times: no more friggen trades! Keep this pick and keep the picks from the next 8 straight lotteries, by the time Al Jefferson is retiring we'll be a competitive team. Rebuild the way Chicago has. This team sucks don't fall into any trade bullshit looking for a quick fix. Let us get better naturally!

Fuck you Danny!

Gravatar The Old Bag and a pile of crap for LeBron and Cleveland's #1.

Gravatar Or both, since some of our friendly boards seem to require both for registration.

------------------

I think you'd still be posting on those other boards, Jim, if your posts were like your last few. Plenty of arguments on the other blogs. Without all of the profanity.

I can't defend what Ainge and Grousbeck are doing either. I'm glad the tanking didn't work.

Gravatar Your spelling is really improving, shak. Now, enjoy your pretending that old Jim ever wanted to remain among the basketball unwashed.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

Gravatar A few of Jim's favorite Internet bits:

Kobe for Telfair, Ratliff and the 5.

Can't give up Green. Too much upside. Never mind that Green can't spell upside, or pronounce it correctly.

Can't give up West. Tattoo-encrusted guards with no right hand are too hard to find. Can't give up Perkins. Centers who are too big a pussy to play on a sore foot have upside.

I trust Danny to draft the best player available.

Wyc is cool. He gives me two free tickets if I can keep the naysayers off my Internet page.

Oh, yeah.

Fuck you, Danny.

Gravatar I guess my misspelling of one word trumps your gangsta rapper vocabulary and deep, deep thought processes (Fuck you Danny ad nauseum) concerning the Celtics.

Funny, Ol' Jim was a regular poster on those blogs of the basketball unwashed....Until his vocabulary got him banished.

Wow, that last post showed the amazing depth of NBA knowledge that only you possess, Jim.

So who should Danny choose with the 5th pick, Jim?

Gravatar Maravich - I think that isn't a bad plan. The part I don't agree with is keeping Pierce and also building through the draft. If the Celtics are going to rebuild through the draft, their job will be considerably more difficult with Pierce on board. When healthy, and he has been for most of his career - Pierce virtually guarantees at least 32 wins. Pathetic, yes, but that is the reality of the situation. It's not easy to build a contender with the 13th pick in the draft every year.

If the plan is to build through the draft, why not deal Pierce and do it right? Get a few top 5 picks in a row. THAT is what Chicago did. Boston is drafting worthless high school kids like Perkins late in the first round and praying that they pan out. If they're gonna keep Pierce - then get him some players and lets at least make this fun. If they want to get serious and rebuild, deal Pierce and let's do it right.

This mediocrity bullshit (oh my god Shak swears) has gone on long enough. Bring in vets, get competitive for a while, get Pierce some help - I don't think it will work, but that's besides the point - or blow this disaster up, get rid of Ainge and rebuild right.

Gravatar Almost forgot: Fuck You, Danny

Gravatar Hahahahahahaha.

Congratulations, Shak. You've hit the magic trifecta.

Add liar to illiterate and basketball stupid.

Nice.

Gravatar Oops.

Fuck you, Danny.

Gravatar But, hey, Jeff.

Oops, Shak.

Drop by any time.

////////////

Gravatar Well, EJ, it's going to take a new general manager to move Pierce and actually rebuild. All you're going to get with the Idiot is a new record for the fewest wins in NBA history if he moves Pierce.

I'm not opposed to moving Pierce, but as long as we're saddled with the Abbott and Costello of NBA management, moving Pierce won't accomplish anything.

And in closing:

Fuck you, Danny.

Gravatar When did I say anything about bringing in vets? I must have missed that post.

I would get the best possible 4-5 available in the draft, get a coach with above-AAU level game-management skills, and teach a defensive system ad-nauseum that would have 4s and 5s in actual rebounding position when the shot goes up.

For the record, as long as Rivers is this team's coach, it really doesn't matter who they bring in. If Rivers had the All-NBA first team, he'd have a 50/50 chance of winning the division.

Gravatar I agree with shak that this team needs a defensive clue. But they already may have a top 4-5 guy in Al Jeff, who has shown an excellent ability to grab rebounds. I think the team's current personality requires a defensive scheme that can be understood by persons with 8th grade educations, like Perk, Al, Gerald, Bastardy, etc. Some veteran leadership, which was fundamental to the Celts' surprising run to the Eastern Conference Finals a few years ago, might also help in this case

Also, fuck you, Danny.

Gravatar EJ, There is no way Danny will ever deal pierce just like there is no way that Danny will ever make sound decisions to build a good franchise. The best bet for this team is to draft oden...oops...I forgot the lottery was rigged for a second. But the real best thing that can happen for this team in the short-term is to keep pierce hope big Al stays healthy, ANd pick up 2 key free agents this year...There are some good ones available....You could get Billups back. If Yi can even be a 12-8 guy they should be able to get 38-42 wins which in the east might be a 5 seed. But in all honestly you might as well stick a fork in em untill danyy leaves. Just hope the Wyc's will stay away from former players turned gm's and get a real b-ball mind in the system.

Oh Yeah I guess I'll keep the Trend
FUCK YOU DANNY....im out

Gravatar So you think the draft shouldn't have been rigged? When there were teams not only looking like they were tanking, but reporting it? The C's got what they deserved. Actually what happenned to Minny in the Joe Smith fiasco is what they deserved.

The odds of any decent free agent wanting to play for Rivers is less than zero.

Gravatar No shit. What self-respecting free agent would want to come to a team that just blatantly and unapologetically tanked the last half of last season?

Fuck you, Danny.

Gravatar http://www.celticsblog.com/index...64& topic=5657.0

Gravatar Ok, haloscan has eaten my follow up text, twice. It was supposed to read:

Check out the original post on this thread. I'm curious as to where some of you would differ.

Gravatar Well, scintan, I'd have to have absolutely nothing better to do and probably be strapped to my chair with toothpicks holding my eyes open to be forced to read the kool-aid drunk crap that appears on CelticsBlah forum, but in glancing at it I would say, Ok, Danny's a great trader and a great drafter and, yes, the Celtics, in Danny's fourth year as GM, just finished tanking a season in which they lost 18 games in a row and finished with the second worst record, a season which featured the incredible talents of Michael Olowakandi, Brian Scalabrine, Allan Ray, Sebustian Telfailaure, Theo Ratliff's corpse, Wally Szcszcerbiak's Paris Hilton ankles, Kendrick Perkins's plantar fascitis hands, Rajon Rondo's jumpshot, Delonte West's right hand, The Allan Ray Point Guard Experiment, Gerald Green's defense, Leon Powe's passing, Doc Rivers's "X's and O's and Substitutions don't really matter" coaching...and, did I mention Brian Scalabrine? Not only do they suck, but Danny has assembled a team on which Kevin Gamble would probably be the intellectual leader and Kedrick Brown would probably average 18 minutes a game.

Gravatar That was Ainge propaganda. By my count, 11 of the 16 trades listed were of so little consequence that they really shouldn't even be included. I just can't get excited because we have a GM capable of turning Walter McCarty into a second round pick, which was considered a win. How about the fact that Ainge resigned McCarty in the first place? I couldn't believe it at the time.

Bell/Jones for Perkins/Banks is listed as a win. I have that one down as a huge failure. Anytime you have a chance to get Ridnour, Pietrus, West, Diaw, Outlaw, Barbosa, or Howard and you walk away with Perkins and Banks, you did not "win".

The 'Toine for Raef trade being listed as a "win" is laughable. His reasoning is that the crap that we took back with Raef was later flipped for picks that became West, Allen, and Rondo. If you're telling me that there was no other way to get picks in the 20-30 range in the first round in the NBA draft other than to take on Raef LaFrentz, in year 2 of a 7-year $70million dollar Mark Cuban deal - then I don't know what to tell you. Trading an expiring Walker for Raef and his crap deal was stupid, period, especially when you consider that it may have led to Wyc demanding that Ainge dump Raef's deal - leading to the disastrous Telfair trade.

We also all know that Danny got bent over in the Telfair trade, despite what we see on RealBM.

It is Danny's fault we have Raef in the first place, it was Danny's fault we resigned Blount, Danny's fault we now have Wally, Danny's fault we have Kandi, Telfair, Powe, Ray, and Scalabrine - it was Danny's fault we had Dan Dickau. It's even Danny's fault that Doc Rivers has been the coach and will continue to coach next year.

Anonymous gave a very good summary of what it was like watching this team last year. A good question for the OP would be: If Danny has gotten better than or equal to market value in 14 of his 16 trades - then how come the team he started with won 44 games and the team he has now is horrendous? What went wrong? He needs to assign more weight to collosal failures like Roy for Telfair and less weight to insignificant wins like McCarty for a 2nd if his analysis is going to have any real meaning.

Fuck You, Danny

Gravatar MF - It'd be nice if we could sign Free Agents but with Pierce making $20 million per year, Wally cashing in at $12 million per, and Theo set to make $11.6 million - There just isn't any money to make a significant signing. As bad as this team is, they're a lot closer to the luxury tax than they are to being under the cap.

I guess Detroit could in theory sign and trade Billups for Ratliff/Green/West or something like that, but I'd imagine that most teams would prefer to just let their players walk than have to pay Theo's corpse $11.6 million for a year.

The thing with this team is that they are so fucked that there is no simple solution - no one trade that'd turn it all around, no free agent signing that could push it over the top. I just hope Danny or whoever replaces him can go two years without trading for a really bad contract. Then Wally and Theo will be off the books and it's possible that the Celtics could be back in the Free Agent game at that time.

Gravatar EJ/MF you guys are right, I should have included "Fire managment" as the first major step in rebuilding, then get someone in here with common sense to make the decisions. We'd be 5-6 years away from being a playoff team and another 3-4 years from being a championship caliber team. Instead right now we're 4 years away from being the "Las Vegas Celtics"

Fuck you Danny!

Gravatar Maravich - Excellent point. I don't doubt for a second that Banker Boy Wyc would move the franchise over to Vegas in a New York Stock Exchange minute if it meant he'd see a surplus in his savings account.

I wonder if we'll ever see the day when the fans of this team will call out Wyc for lying when he said that he was most concerned with winning and that he'd be willing to spend to win. How many years has he owned the team now, four? Nothing but lies, lies, and lies.

And of course, the 2nd worst record in the NBA.

Fuck You, Danny

Gravatar whatever trade Ainge makes he better not give up Delonte. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!

Gravatar Hahaha, yeah Willie, RealBM won't trade for Marion, who only averaged 18ppg, 10rpg, 2spg, 1.5bpg, shot 53% from the field, 80% from the line, came in 4th in DPOY voting, can defend 3 positions, and doesn't need the offense run through him to score...because they have to give up Delonte West. Delonte fucking West!!!

I don't think DWest is bad but when you have a chance to add Marion for Wang Zhi Zhi and Delonte West you do that. This team is horrible defensively and already has enough black holes on offense. Marion would improve the product on the floor greatly. I think even Doc could coach this team to 35 wins with Marion in the mix.

Gravatar Earth to EJ: Theo's corpse's contract is being paid by insurance. That changes the dynamic quite a bit.

Gravatar "Earth to EJ: Theo's corpse's contract is being paid by insurance. That changes the dynamic quite a bit.
shak | 06.11.07 - 4:03 pm | # "

Earth to Shak: Theo's corpse claims it wants to play again this season, meaning insurance wouldn't be covering the contract and your smartass response to EJ was uncalled for and inappropriate.

http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_ar..._to_play_again/

It would probably be better if you didn't post anything anymore, since everytime you do, you appear more and more like that dumbfuck you mentioned previously.

Gravatar Theo's corpse being paid by insurance changes what dynamic? The Globe just reported that the Celtics get $4.5 million back from insurance because Ratliff could only play 2 games. That money still counts against the cap and is luxury-taxable.

Can you even trade a player who is being paid by insurance and still have insurance cover his contract? I still haven't seen that in writing anywhere.

Gravatar From the RealGM article:

“Oh, yeah,” Ratliff said. “Definitely. There’s no doubt about that. I’m sure of that. I’m not ready to quit yet."
------------------------

Hmm...so he'll play 2 games next season, too?? What do you think the odds are that any franchise who owns his rights will let him smell a basketball court, Scintan?

I'd say a 4.5 million dollar savings changes the dynamic a whole lot. Salary cap or not. I guess we'll find out. But it's a safe bet he won't see a basketball court until his contract is up.

Inappropriate? About 275 of the 300 posts are inappropriate if we use your criteria.

Funny, Scintan, you make lucid and solid posts in the other blog without all the profanity. Then there's here...and you are the one who sounds dumb. But I digress.

Gravatar Shak - What dynamic are you talking about? He played two games last year and the Celtics still owed him $7 million dollars. His entire salary, $11.66 million, counted against the salary cap and had the Celtics have been in the luxury tax range, would've been luxury taxable.

Saving $4.5 million through insurance does not get the Celtics under the salary cap, and does not enable them to sign any free agents worth more than the MLE. So that can't be the dynamic you were referring to.

So, for example, if the Suns wanted to trade Marion for Ratliff/our crap/the #5 - even if Ratliff hurt himself and didn't play one second all season and insurance were to cover the entire thing - his salary would still count in full value against the cap and would still be counted in the luxury tax calculations.

If a team wants to get out of tax range - Theo isn't the answer. I don't understand how the insurance policy works exactly - but the only way that I could see this being appealing to a team is if they were already under the luxury tax threshold and were just going to pray that Ratliff got hurt and insurance covered a large portion of his salary. A pretty risky proposition since Ratliff has already said that he has no intention of retiring and has every intention of playing next season.

So insurance paid $4.5 million last season - exactly what does this change? He's still not bringing back an all-star in a trade straight up. Sorry.

Gravatar "Hmm...so he'll play 2 games next season, too?? What do you think the odds are that any franchise who owns his rights will let him smell a basketball court, Scintan?"

The team has no say in that matter, as you certainly must know. If the player is healthy enough to play, he's healthy enough to play. If he really wants to play, he's not going to let the team keep him on the shelf.

"Inappropriate? About 275 of the 300 posts are inappropriate if we use your criteria."

It was inappropriate because you've been riding someone about things while you've been the one who's provably wrong. I'm pretty sure that you aren't fool enough to even pretend that to be the case about the other comments on this thread.

"Funny, Scintan, you make lucid and solid posts in the other blog without all the profanity. Then there's here...and you are the one who sounds dumb. But I digress.
shak | 06.11.07 - 7:15 pm | #"

Ummm.... the "dumbfuck" has been a continuation of your post where you used that term about JJ while making an incorrect claim. I've noted it as a running theme. Since you don't post "dumbfuck" on "the other blog", I assume that you realize the rules are different here.

Look, I don't care that you don't want to take long showers with JJ, and I don't care what words get bandied about. However, when you call someone a dumbfuck about a point that is proven incorrect by the very post that precedes yours, you can expect to get grief. It's sort of like insisting the Cavaliers will never get to the finals the day after they eliminated the Pistons. And, when you insult someone about something that has been publicly refuted by the player involved, you can expect more.

Gravatar Refuted? Did insurance not pay part of his contract? Maybe less than I thought. But not an irrelevent dollar amount by any means. Nice try, Scintan.

---------------
From Scintan:
The team has no say in that matter, as you certainly must know. If the player is healthy enough to play, he's healthy enough to play. If he really wants to play, he's not going to let the team keep him on the shelf.

---------------
Really?? The team has no say whether a healthy player plays or sits? The same team who sat out 4 healthy players with phantom "injuries" until they got to their goal of second worst record? That team? The team who put 3 of those suddenly dramatically recovered players back after the record was clinched? That team?
I'm glad to hear that Wyc and Danny, two people who have mooned their customers, the league, and the game itself have suddenly overcome their lack of integrity and are going to suddenly going to play healthy players. Maybe try to win a few games? They're only doing it because Scintan says they have to.

Thanks, Scintan, by virtue of your directive, we are going to get to see some competitive games next season.

Gravatar "Refuted? Did insurance not pay part of his contract? Maybe less than I thought. But not an irrelevent dollar amount by any means. Nice try, Scintan."

"Nice try" what? Theo says he's going to play. If he plays, insurance doesn't pick up the check.

"Really?? The team has no say whether a healthy player plays or sits? The same team who sat out 4 healthy players with phantom "injuries" until they got to their goal of second worst record? Whether he plays or not is not the issue regarding collecting the insurance, as you must surely know. It's whether he's deemed healthy enough to play. The insurance company decides whether or not the player is able to play for purposes of paying out a claim, not the team, and any dispute would be settled either through arbitration or court action depending upon the wording of the contract.

"Thanks, Scintan, by virtue of your directive, we are going to get to see some competitive games next season.
shak | 06.12.07 - 2:26 pm | # "

Well, we can only hope that the games are better than your last few posts have been. Again, I don't care what you type here, and neither do the hosts, apparently. However, if you go about peeing on the legs of others, don't cry when you find out your leg is covered in that same warm yellow liquid.

Gravatar Shak, for the love of God, tell us what the hell you are talking about. Insurance pays, insurance doesn't pay - none of this changes a thing. I know you're just naturally antogonistic but I'm stll holding out hope that if you're here and posting, you have something worthwhile to say.

The Celtics still can't sign a Free Agent because Ratliff's entire salary still counts against the cap, and no one is going to trade for Ratliff expecting that insurance will pay the vast majority of his salary since he wants to play and isn't retiring.

If the Celtics saved $4.5 million this year and Theo played in two games, smart money would be on him playing more than 2 games and his owner receiving less of a kickback from insurance than $4.5 million.

I sure as fuck don't care that Wyc has an extra $4.5 million in his savings account. He's over the cap so it's not going to be reinvested back into the team.

Maybe with the money he saved from the insurance policy on Ratliff, he'll green-light Ainge to offer Tony Allen a long-term extension? God.

Fuck You, Danny

Gravatar And I was wondering what that was on my leg.

The assertion that Ratliff will see an NBA basketball court while under his current contract is absurd. I wish we had even a corpse of Ratliff on the active roster. It'd probably make a 10-15 win difference if he's playing at 80% for 20-25MPG. If you don't think 4.5M makes a difference in Ratliff's trade value I really don't know what to tell you.

The free agent thing is a straw dog because no quality free agent who cares about winning will want to play for Rivers no matter what he's paid.

Gravatar I would think the players union would have something to say about the Celtanks trying to keep Theo's remains out of the lineup if he is physically able to play. He certainly doesn't have an interest in the Celts' future, like Pierce and Al do, that would sway him to sit out while the team tanks the season. Anyhow, I don't pretend to know how all this business stuff works as well as the rest of you do and I think each of you makes some good points.

Fuck you, Danny.

Gravatar This just in Shak is as smart as Shawn Kemp.
Dude make up ur mind. After reading the last 20 posts on this topic I kept feeling more and more confused after each one of ur posts.
Are you getting paid by the Wyc's to make all these posts on the different blogs?

Gravatar What other blogs are you talking about, MF? I'm quite sure Wyc is paying me to trash him. The disgusting way they tanked the season is probably the only thing we'll ever agree on.

This just in: MF is as stoned (and confused) as Shawn Kemp. I have no idea what you're confused about.

Anon, I'd love for even a corpse of Ratliff to play because even a corpse would play better defense than about half of the players on the current roster. With the possiblity of a substantial insurance payoff for him not playing, somehow I don't see it getting to the player's union. Of course, I reserve the right to be wrong. Wouldn't be the first time.

Not antagonistic at all, EJ. Just don't see why seemingly bright people have to sound like Akon to make a simple point.

Gravatar fuck coc. fuck ainge. fuck pryc.

Gravatar Is EJ as in EJPLAYA in Celticsblog?

Gravatar What a lovely vacation that was.

Of course, I come back and see that the neighborhood is still befouled.

But we're an open society over here with the Doc - no brown-shirted basketball dumbshits with "moderator" by their name channeling discussion to prove their point.

Seems that our little rodent has a couple of respectable points, and he's overcome his hypocritical lying. Good for him.

Now, back to issues of import: Shawn Marion or Rashard Lewis? Either would be fine with Jim, and would force me to actually admit that Wyc and the Mormon Dumbass have been detected making moves to improve the club?

Thoughts?

Gravatar Jim:
Glad you enjoyed your vacation.

How many points do you think we'd need to score with Lewis at the 3 and Pierce at the 2 to outscore the other team? With Rivers' "defense"? (Or whatever that is) You think having two of the NBA's biggest sieves at the 2 and 3 with a "coach" who hasn't been able to spell defense since he played for Fratello 75 years ago will improve anything? May make it more fun to watch. May. I think the coaching situation needs to be addressed before there is even a slight improvement. So why clog the payroll with two players who probably can't/won't play defense for any coach? Fire Rivers and then figure out what pieces you want. Until then, pick the best player available. You asked for thoughts.

I'm still trying to figure out the hypocritical lies you're talking about. But I digress.

Gravatar Jim, it seems like you are the unofficial moderator with Dr. Chestnutt away. With either Marion or Lewis on the team it would be nice to have an all-star again, but I think a move like that would make us about as good as the Indiana Pacers right now.

Gravatar I have never posted a thing on Celticsblog. Also I'd rather get Marion than Lewis. Lewis wants a max deal and I'm not sure that is money well spent. A max deal for 22ppg and not much else? RealBM is going nuts over the fact that he's 6'10", but give me the 6'7" guy who averages 10rpg every year and came in 4th in DPOY voting any day.

Although the difference, apparently, is that Lewis might not cost the #5 pick to get. If true, that certainly makes things interesting.

Ultimatly, I'd like to see this team contend for championships and I'm not sure that Pierce/Jefferson/Marion or Pierce/Jefferson/Lewis is a good enough core to get there. With that said, Ainge is certainly not in a position to deal Pierce and rebuild, at least not if he wants to keep his job. I think either of these deals along with the addition of some veteran role players could make for a competitive team in a couple years.

Gravatar Frankly, I'm not excited about Lewis. Marion interests me greatly - primarily because of his defensive skill - but Phoenix isn't dumb enough to take the 5 and a bag of Danny's trash for the Matrix. The idea that Marion isn't worth Delonte West still has me giggling hysterically.

Your point is well-taken, Maravich, but I grow VERY tired of the bullshit argument "Don't do it. It won't get us closer to a championship" - not accusing your post of that; just noting that the 50IQ quarter-wits all over the message boards love that one.

And it's the last refuge of the cowards who aren't man enough to admit that Ainge has totally screwed the future of this franchise with his idiotic youth movement.

If you've coached basketball - or any other team sport - as I have for more than two decades, you know that balance is critical, especially on a short 12-man roster. You've got to have a blend of youth - and we've got plenty, both quality and otherwise - and veteran leadership and mentorship to succeed.

In sum, Ainge has retarded the growth of the kids by pushing the veterans out the door in an ego-driven desire to "be different" that has totally blown up in his face.

Now, the question is whether he's man enough to admit it - God knows legions of Celtics fans aren't.

Trade activity this summer, or the lack thereof, will be your answer.

Gravatar Jim, that's true a Marion or Lewis deal wouldn't make us title contenders, but it would make us more competitive which would hopefully mean that we won't be considered such a joke and maybe mean free agents would consider playing here. I'd definitely be happier if the Celtics were more like the Nets, always in the playoffs and occasionally making it to the Finals. Where with one or two small moves could actually win us a title, rather than where we are now, in the shit can. But nothing good will ever come of this team with Danny in the driver's seat. I'm just hoping he does something ridiculous to the team where Wyc has no choice but to fire him.

Gravatar Pete:
I would maintain that until Rivers is replaced, the free agent thing is a straw dog. What free agent who's concerned about playing on a competitive team will sign to play for an AAU coach? A coach with a nonexistent defensive system. Sad reality is it's hard to tell when Rivers is trying to win and when he's trying to lose. Strategies are about the same.

I think they can get a better all-around player at 5 than Lewis. They could get a better defensive player than Lewis from the NBDL. Marion would be a rent-a-player who's price would be too high. I'd love to have Marion in Boston. But under Rivers, there simply won't be any improvement no matter who they bring in.

Gravatar Jim,
I agree with you that it hasn't worked. But the Bulls proved that with a decent coach, the concept can. If Ainge is trying to emulate what the Bulls have done, he can see that mortgaging the future by signing an expensive free agent didn't make them markedly better. Mixing in good vets didn't make them markedly better, either. Good coaching got them to where they are. We don't have that. You could bring in Marion, Duncan, Garnett, or anyone else you want to this mess. It's not going to get better until a coach who implements an actual defensive system and makes coherent game decisions is brought on board.

Gravatar Totally agree, Pete, and that's my most vociferous argument with what Ainge has done.

This franchise right now isn't remotely competitive. The Dynamic Duo has created a culture of losing, fed in some part by a culture of excuse-making and failure to acknowledge the numerous mistakes that have been made by Grousbeck and Ainge.

If you build a balanced roster with some vet influence - I loved Payton, not because his skills were first-rate, but because he wasn't afraid to tongue-lash the kids - then you can teach your kids on the fly in an atmosphere of at least partial success.

It is absolutely critical, in my opinion, to get a veteran frontcourt guy on this roster this summer for that purpose.

If the move is instead to draft yet another project and continue muddling along as a laughingstock franchise, then I'd go so far as to say all hope is gone - for this ownership and for this general manager.

Gravatar It is absolutely critical, in my opinion, to get a veteran frontcourt guy on this roster this summer for that purpose.

Agree, but who? I would have loved to see Dale Davis fill that role when they signed MR Intangible. Unfortunately, Ainge picked up the worst rebounding 6-9 300lb guy in NBA history. Juwan Howard would have been a good pickup. I don't think J O'Neal can play enough games to mortgage as much as he'd cost. Marion would cost too much for two years. Lewis is not a vet. Or a winner. Mr 38% for a 3rd go-round?

Gravatar This is too rich:

RealBM's Celtic Thug was a total fraud. The thread in which that was revealed has been deleted, because Darth Celtic ends up looking like a dumbass.

Here's an aftermath thread, for as long as it lasts:

http://www.realgm.com/boards/vie...ic.php? t=673875

What little credibility that board had is now gone.

Gravatar Aww man I really wish I could've seen that unfold. Did he just admitt to making all that up or what? hahaha!

Gravatar He was exposed as a liar.

The true humor has come since then, watching those ass-clown moderators try to cover their asses, deleting and locking threads left and right.

Gravatar Catching up here:

Hate to break this to you, Shak, but I have active accounts on a bunch of Celtics boards, including the two less credible ones we love to mock here.

Try not to be too disappointed.

Gravatar ?????????????????????????????

Gravatar I read Celtic Thug's Healthpoint post early in the day yesterday and had no idea what he was talking about because HE, shak, no us, types like a ghetto thug. I decided against sifting through the then 8 pages of replies because it is RealBM and the odds of seeing worthwhile conversation in a thread that long are slim. If I had known it turned into a 25-page Darth-bashfest I might've cracked open a cold one and relaxed for an hour or so. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

With that said, in response to your post yesterday, Jim, I couldn't agree more. That's why this team is so frustrating. The Celtics are so bad that we're talking about adding an 18-10 player, a DPOY candidate, and a 4-time All-Star and Pete said "The trade might make us as good as the Indiana Pacers." A 35-win team. And it's true.

Conventional wisdom suggests that the Celtics need to spend a few more years losing and add top-tier lottery talent through the draft. It is true, one; even two players won't put this team into championship contention. However, at what cost can the Celtics continue to lose? I remember reading a Simmons article and he said that a friend who travels with the team told him during the losing streak "If you saw the way the losses roll off these guys, you'd never watch pro sports again."

That is not a good sign. Boston's 21-year old core already doesn't give a crap when they lose 18 straight games. Combine that with a "player's coach" like Coc and it's a recipe for disaster that no amount of talent infusion will solve.

It's a catch-22 - Get veterans and the team will win a little but not win championships - or stay young and lose to improve draft position - at the expense of a winner's mentality. The worst example of this was the the blatant tanking that took place this year. Tony Allen is probably blowing lines of coke right now trying to forget about it. Why should any of the players care when the objective of the second half of the season was to lose games? It's a sorry state that this team is in.

Have you guys watched Popovich at all? The guy fearlessly berates Duncan. Benched Ginobilli for the good of the team. A few years ago he even stopped playing Parker in the 4th quarter. That is absolutely what this team is lacking and was one of the reasons that Payton was so valuable to this team.

Imagine how he'd have reacted when Pierce showed up in that press conference with bandages wrapped around his head after nearly costing the team a playoff game? This team needs an enforcer, and I'm not talking about that jelly-bean Kendrick Perkins. The Celtics have been one of the most undisciplined collection of crybabies in the league for the past few seasons.

I say get a vet, and hope to get lucky with a few other moves and target glue guys like Battier and Garbajosa if they want to move into the top tier of the league. The quick fix - Oden - didn't happen. Time for plan B.

Gravatar Also Shak I found a few EJPLAYA posts on Celticsblog. I'm insulted!

Gravatar No argument whatsoever, EJ. That's why I find the "stay the course" crowd so insulting. This team is SO bad, so far down into the depths of professional basketball, that a Shawn Marion only upgrades you to a low lottery level. The fact that so many find the current mess acceptable - many because they worry more about their favorite players than the team - is intellectually dishonest.

I never gave a shit whether Payton could play. The guy's hard-ass leadership qualities were worth their weight in gold; and Simmons' account of the losing streak proves it conclusively. Anyone wearing a Celtics uniform who wasn't absolutely devastated by 18 straight rounds of ineptitude should have been released on the spot.

Marion is only a starting point. You're quite correct. If we're lucky enough to add someone like him, it's going to require some glue guys around him to truly make a difference.

As for Real BM, you couldn't be more correct. Watching an arrogant, self-important moderator implode is high quality entertainment.

Gravatar There are two huge obstacles in Danny's way if he is indeed trying to trade for a vet. The Suns and Sonics both have new GMs and most new GMs, Danny excluded, aren't so quick to gut their new teams.

The Herald is saying that Phoenix wants to dump some bad contracts on whoever takes Shawn Marion. I could definitely see Danny trading for Kurt Thomas or Marcus Banks. However, after the Raef and Wally trades I'd think that Wyc might be tightening the purse strings on Danny a little bit.

Also apparently a Rashard Lewis trade couldn't happen until July 1 - After the draft - because he is an unrestricted FA and can't talk about a sign and trade until July 1st. Which, as Steve Bulpett pointed out - makes a deal with the #5 pick problematic.

Most Gasol rumors that I am seeing are involving Atlanta and Golden State.

The only Jermaine O'Neal rumor I see is for Kobe. Also I'm not entirely convinced that JO isn't damaged goods at this point, either.

I haven't heard anything about KG or Gerald Wallace in a few weeks, either.

I can't say I'd be shocked if Danny struck out this off-season just like he has every other off-season since he's been here.

Also who is he taking in the draft? Looks like Brandon Right is moving right back up the mock drafts and the Grizzlies seem to like Horford at 4.

Yi? Noah? Conley? Brewer? Green? At this point I have no idea who I want or who I think Danny is going to take. Will he shy away from a PG or a wing because he has Rondo and Tony Allen? Will he take Yi so that Wyc can sell Celtics jerseys in China? I can't say for certain.

The only thing I am feeling confident in saying is that Danny will strike out in his bid to trade for one of the available all-star forwards. Anyone else starting to get that feeling or is it just me?

With Ainge at the helm I would be surprised to see a deal like #5 to Philly for #12/Rodney Carney so that he can draft Thaddeous Young.

Gravatar No. I've had the feeling all along that the plan is to continue the youth movement charade.

Gravatar This is from Darth Celtic on Real GM, and it earns this week's "Internet Dolt of the Week Award," although it brings a tear to my eye:

"well, here it is. Guys this is what I said about cthug after the first "insider" thing before chad ford put his up.

"guys, I have no physical proof that cthug is who he says he is, but he has given me info via pm, and it all checks out. It's just second hand things he is hearing, and all have come true so far. I believe him. He could be some guy posting from his mom's basement making it up, but what he has told me has checked out".

Then chad ford broke it a day later. I posted this, it was true, he did post it before chad ford. Then he got so high up, he couldn't fall. Then came lewis, and it too was confirmed. And ranter confirmed through another source. And nobody was questioning my saying his sources checked out, as now you could see for yourselves, his sources, whatever it was, did check out.

Then he started making stuff up, As you saw in the hawks thread, i said I didn't believe his source had that right. And then he feel off that tall pedistal we all put him on.

I'm sorry I said a guys facts and story he gave me were true, and That i let you guys know about it.

I'm sorry that the other mods locked and "deleted" every thread after that. I myself would lock and explain, but others moved it off the site.

And before all this happened, I was thinking about leaving realgm anyway, so all of you who hate realgm celtics board because of me, might just get your wish. Now, this is the "i'm sorry" thread, not the "thank god you might leave" or "you better stay thread" so don't turn it into one, just giving some of you something to hope for in private.

But in case you want to know why I would leave....Every time anyone does anything on realgm celtics board as a mod. I get blamed. I get called out for what others do. Guys go to other boards about what I did, even when I didn't. Everything here seems to be done by me. I do do a lot, but the thread on the suggestions feedback board is just more proof to me about this."

BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Dood, here's a clue for you: Treat people like crap, and they're going to laugh at you when you implode.

BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Gravatar LOL. Darth makes a post that that is more than one sentence long. Change truly is possible, my friends. The only thing I'm upset about is that Spinmove mentioned this site in a post. The last thing Celticsdoom needs is dumbfucks from RealGM making their way over here to ruin the good times.

Gravatar Been fun to sit back and enjoy the reading. Poor guy isn't the only dumbshit out there that's fallen victim to "moderator ego."

As for Spin Move, I saw that.

Any way the Doc can encript the site?

Gravatar That first part wasn't terribly eloquent. Here's the point:

Just because someone makes you a moderator of a message board, it doesn't mean you know anything about basketball.

Sadly, RealBM is just one example of that.

Gravatar Don't malign the single sentence post.

Fuck you, Danny.

Gravatar I must say that I've really enjoyed the recent Darth ribbing on RealBM. There have been at least 60 pages of posts ripping the old fart to shreds, at least 40 of which are now deleted. What remains is the Feedback and Suggestions post that he doesn't have the power to delete (HAHAHA!) and his apology.

Without question, my favorite part was when he said:

"And before all this happened, I was thinking about leaving realgm anyway, so all of you who hate realgm celtics board because of me, might just get your wish. Now, this is the "i'm sorry" thread, not the "thank god you might leave" or "you better stay thread" so don't turn it into one, just giving some of you something to hope for in private."

If you can read that without spitting up whatever you were drinking, then you have a funny bone made of steel.

Gravatar Dare I ask what anybody thinks of Chad Ford's Garnett trade?

I'd do it without the #5.

Gravatar What Chad Ford Garnett trade?

Considering that Danny may take Why with the 5, I'd probably trade the pick for just about anyone.

Gravatar I wouldn't do it at all after seeing Garnett can opt out after this season.

http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/i...chad& id=2907610

To answer your question.

Why do you believe anything Ainge says pertaining to the draft? Or anything else for that matter? If the pick isn't traded, who would you take? With the number of tweeners working out, I'd say he's trading down or out. We definitely don't need more projects with "upside".

Gravatar If my asshole had an eyelid I'd wink at you.

Gravatar Don't trade Garnett he's overly competitive and he'll provide no salary flexibility for Wyc!!!!

The trade is a non starter if they have to throw in West or Tony Allen.

Gravatar I think for the past few weeks we've been saying that there are only two things for this team to do to get better; one is blow up the team and get rid of Pierce (In my opinion the smart option) or keep Peirce and try to get a quality player around him. If we stay where we are and try to draft we'll be stuck in this rut.
It seems like the T-wolves are in the exact same position we are, one really good player (they actually have an all star) and then nobody around him, unless you are on the insane side of the fence that thinks Gerald Green and Delonte West are the next Rip Hamilton and Chauncy Billups, but anyway... The T-wolves may be willing to pull the trigger on this and blow up their team in order to rebuild and get some cap room and be competitive down the stretch. We'll pull the trigger because this may save Danny's job for a few more years.
I do think that the argument about doing something to make us competitive again in-order to make this team less of a joke is a very solid argument. I just don't think KG would be the answer to our problems. In the short run we would get better, but in 3 years we'll be screwed. By that time Pierce and Garnett will be old and won't be the impact players they are. We may at that point have some veterans with playoff experience, but Danny Ainge and Doc Rivers will still be in charge of this team. I think anything to keep them here longer is a bad idea.

Gravatar Trading for KG doesn't make sense. Al Jeff is going to be absolutely dominant at PF and is also a dominant center if the team follows Danny's "Defenseless" strategy. Why get only marginally better, if at all, at one of two positions where you have a legitimate NBA player, when you have absolutely clueless future journeymen at the other three? It doesn't make sense to me, regardless of all the money.

Let's hope Danny doesn't do anything desparate before he gets fired next year.

Fuck you, Danny.

Gravatar There are other deals that interest me MUCH more than KG - Marion, Gasol, etc.

But it's irrelevant. The cheap SOB running this team isn't going to make any investment in the quality of play on the floor.

He's going to keep bullshitting the gullible with his youth movement bullshit.

Gravatar KG would be a nice addition from a basketball standpoint. As we all remember from his commercial a few years back - 20-10-5 six years in a row! No one has done that! He's a nice player, a very good rebounder, and a very good defender.

Unfortunately, he is just not a huge crunch time scorer. He comes at an outrageous price as well, I just don't think that he has the impact of a Duncan, Bryant, or Nash, but he gets paid like he does. That is frustrating.

I know he plays in the West, but he hasn't made the playoffs in years. Is he truly a great player? I mean Kobe guarantees at least a .500 record in the West.

I'll just come right out and say it - never been a KG fan. Occasionally I can hear him talking during a game and I'd estimate that his IQ is somewhere between 70-90. Barely double Gerald Green's. Not a great sign.

I hope that if Boston blows up the team to get a super-duper star that it is Kobe and not KG. I would prefer a trade for Marion or Gasol where the Celtics hold onto Pierce and Jefferson as well.

That is not to say that I don't agree with Pete when he says that trading Pierce would be the smart move if the goal truly is to win a championship. However, with Ainge trying to keep his job I just don't think that is a realistic option this offseason. Imagine the heat he'd take if they A)resigned Pierce, B) regressed 20-games in his 2-year tenure, and THEN C) traded Pierce? He'd be ushered out the door so fast it would make our heads spin.

KG has proven that he can win with a good supporting cast (64-wins with Sam and Spree). I'm not sure that Boston, even if it keeps Pierce, can provide that kind of help. And if Wyc was paying both Paul and KG? For one that'd be $38 million for two players, with the cap being at $53 million last year.

Gravatar internet dolt of the day;

Any trade involving Big Al is absolutely ridiculous. Of all the criticism of Danny, I can't call the man stupid. He won championships with McHale, Bird and Parish (all big men) carrying the team. Now that Big Al is proving to be an almost unstoppable post-player, while still in his early twenties, there is no way Ainge will trade him. The guards will go, but no bigs. I'd hate to lose Gerald as well.

Honestly people, I don't think we are too far way from contending in the East. We don't need to COMPLETELY dismantle this team. Are the Cavs really that freakin' good? Heck no! Player for player, we have a competitive team. I just don't want to see a team that includes KG, but devoid of Al, Gerald another of our guards and possibly the draft pick. It won't bode well for the team 3 years from now.

Gravatar I agree with the dolt of the day that they should not trade Al right now. Al will be an all-star next year despite Doc.

Now, I'm not sure why Danny can't be stupid and still happen to be on the Bird-McHale-Parish championship teams. And, I don't mind trading GiGi--this generation's Ron Mercer.

But Al is going to dominate, and he won't cost nearly as much as KG, who is only slightly better at the same position, and only marginally, if at all, smarter, both big men having an 8th grade education. The Celts need a PG, SG, and C. Not a PF. They also need some intelligent veteran leadership, perhaps more than anything, and KG will not give them that.

Gravatar The deal as proposed is a disaster.

No Jefferson, period.

Gravatar After further review, I suspect that report is a first offer designed to find out if Danny's asshole has recovered from the butterizing he suffered last summer at the hands of Portland.

Can't blame McHale for trying to find out if the Moronic Mormon is still as stupid as last summer.

Gravatar Hahahahaha.

They're still tearing old Darth a new asshole on RealBM.

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

Gravatar LOL Jim! It's a bad sign when McHale thinks he has an excellent chance of duping you.

After Ainge traded Walker and a 1st round pick for Walker, Signed Scal, traded for Dickau, and then traded Roy for Telfair, I'm beginning to wonder if he can handle everyday mundane tasks like waking up and taking a piss in the morning without something going horribly wrong.

As for Darth, hilarious stuff. The guy has nothing to say. He acts like an asshole over there, period, and he got what was coming.

"yo darth, chill out man. no one trying to take your spot. your jesus complex thing is getting unseemly and frankly a bit embarrassing for you. mang disliked you less as the ballbreaker hardass than the sad nixon figure you've become lately.

we all know how big a role being celtic mod on realgm plays in your life and no one is trying to take that from you. stop acting like you might possibly step down (even though we all know you would never follow through on the threat) just to see who steps up to beg you to stay. thats a black eye on the game right there mane. " - coach mang

and

"Pandering to your base, condescending and profiling.

you really are bush of realgm!" - Fakescreenname123

BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA!

Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy indeed.

Gravatar Al will be an All Star? Which players is he going to jump over and who's he going to bump off the team?

Here's last season's list:

Howard
Bosh
Shaq
J.O.

Now, he's not going to get past Bosh or Howard unless he improves exponentially and they don't improve at all, and he's not going to get past Shaq if Shaq isn't injured in the first half of the season. That means that he'll have to get past J.O. and out-do Rasheed, Okafor and others for the job. It's not likely to happen next year. The year after, maybe. Come back after next season and we'll re-evaluate.

KG is only slightly better than Al?

Who are you people, how much koolaid have you been drinking and what have you done with the regulars here? KG is better on both sides of the ball, and he's about a thousand times better defensively.

Al had a good season last year, but people are losing their minds about him.

Gravatar Why shouldn't Al beat out JO?
Last year post-all-star:
Al-19.8/11.5/55%FG
JO-18.6/8.2/42%FG
Okafor and Rasheed aren't even close.

Al has shown to be one of the most unstoppable low-post players in the game, and he's only just getting started. I've seen Okafor and Howard have both get shut down by future journeyman-nobody, Kendrick Perkins. I'm not saying Al has shown the talent of Bosh or Howard yet, and Shaq may get the fan vote, but you never know. One thing that might hold Al back is that the team is a joke and is never on national TV.

Fuck you, Danny.

Gravatar After further review, Kevin can have the 5 or Jefferson, but not both. As for Green, let Kevin teach him how to read and write.

Pretty clear that nary a management soul is paying attention at Real BM to let Darth's bullshit continue. When you act like an asshole, and you do something stupid like endorse a liar on your site, there are going to be recriminations.

Looks like the few good posters who were left over there are now quitting because he's such an asshole. That site is going to become another homer cesspool run by idiot moderators with a God complex.

Gravatar Going to become?

What the hell was I thinking?

It's always been a homer site - just going to be worse now with the departure of the few intelligent posters left over there.

Gravatar Scintan,

Great points, I think I needed that. All this Darth drama has got me reading more RealBM than usual and I think it might've gone to my head a little bit.

KG is likely to absolutely tear up the East. This is a 10-time all-star, a former MVP, a 3-time All-NBA 1st teamer, and 6-time All-NBA 1st Team Defender.

If he was on the Celtics, we wouldn't be wondering "Can he beat out Bosh and Howard for an all-star slot", we'd be wondering out loud if we had the best player in the conference on the Celtics.

Anonymous is also right, as usual. Jefferson did produce amazing numbers after the ASB last year. I question how much of that was due to a) lack of quality around him, b) other teams practically resting their regulars against Boston, and c) teams going easy on the Celts because they were playing one of the worst teams in the league.

KG, Gasol, O'Neal, Marion, even Howard and Bosh - Have shown that they can produce numbers and win games. Al hasn't proven that he can play over 70 games in a season or that he can put up huge stats on a winning team. Lionel Simmons averaged 18 and 9 for a 25-win team once, too.

I think Al's consistency over the second half is a great sign and I was very happy with it. Imagine last summer if someone suggested "Boston's 2007 first round pick and Al Jefferson for KG"

They'd have won Internet dolt of the day, easy. Anyways, I think it's going to cost Al to get an all-star in Boston, even of the Marion or Gasol level. If I were Memphis, Phoenix, or Minnesota I certainly wouldn't be jumping on the opportunity to trade my all-stars for the 5th pick.

Gravatar If he was on the Celtics, we wouldn't be wondering "Can he beat out Bosh and Howard for an all-star slot", we'd be wondering out loud if we had the best player in the conference on the Celtics.
-----------------------
Probably little doubt about that.

After playing for Rivers, Garnett would miss the game coaching skills and defensive philosophy of his elementary school coach. It'd guaran-damned-ty that he'd opt out of Boston at the earliest possible opportunity.

Seriously, I'd love to have Garnett or Marion. Or anybody who makes this team worth watching. But I'll maintain that this team won't be worth watching until a coach with above 6th grade coaching skills is hired.

Until then, I say draft the best player available. Mortgaging Jefferson and the pick for anybody won't improve the team markedly because this coach will screw it up regardless.

Gravatar Here's the thing, though - any sort of an early season hiccup with a trio of Pierce, Garnett and Al, and Glenn is back behind the TNT mike by the All-Star break.

I think you move heaven and Earth - but not Jefferson - to get Garnett in Boston. Give them West and Inmate #42. Give them their pick back plus the 5.

Then, you can go shopping for a veteran point to mentor Rondo, and you might have something coachable - as soon as Glenn is gone.

Gravatar You're not alone, EJ. RealBM has been a barrel of laughs lately. Interesting to note how critical that Web site moderator's title must be to the poor fellow's ego, given the extremes he's chosen to defend himself against his latent asshole-ness and his big mistake.

Gravatar "Okafor and Rasheed aren't even close. "

Rasheed is a 3 time all-star who was last in that game just a year ago. Clearly, that would constitute "close" at the very least.

As for Okafor, I'll just say that if you claim he's not even close, you haven't watched him play or looked at his numbers.

Gravatar "DISCLAIMER! This is not info from CThug. This info is from a source I have physical proof of, and have not mentioned to any of you. Believe me or not, it can still be false.

Word is, KG to boston is VERY likely to happen. No, I don't have any idea of who will be involved, as offers are still being sent back and forth by both teams. But again, coming out of boston, it is very likely to happen. By draft day is the deadline i'm hearing." - Darth Celtic

and then:

"sorry dudes, and fake, I don't hold grudges, that was a joke from me, but I won't pm you guys anything. sorry.

and i have to state again, I DON'T KNOW THE PLAYERS INVOLVED! Just that is almost 100% going to happen.

Now, as for the last inside info, giving up Al and keeping the 5th pick while giving back the owed pick, yeah, I'll do that.

I love Al more then any player on the c's the last 13 years not named Paul Pierce, but for KG, Yeah. Then we draft brewer at 5 since wally is gone. Hudson can play backup pg as well.

well, nevermind, Yi would be nice as a backup big." - Darth Celtic

I will just say that I am giddy about the fact that Darth just predicted with almost 100% certainty that KG would be going to Boston by the NBA Draft. This has a lot of potential for hilarity on RealBM.

Gravatar I really think at this point Danny would be looking short term instead of long term. A team with Pierce, Garnett and Jefferson would be pretty good, we'd be a solid #4 play off team, not as good as Detriot Pistons, Miami Heat or Clevand James' but we'd beat out the aging Nets I think. I don't think Danny could work that deal though, he'll be stupid enough to give away Jefferson and the pick and probably keep szczerbiak. In return he'd get to keep his job and the Celtics would make some money with all those Garnett #8 Jerseys. (Yes I did compare Garnett to Antione) At least we'll be the #7 or #8 seed for 3 years and not have to worry about Stern fixing the lottery or shooting Kennedy again.

Gravatar Jesus, EJ.

If that trade doesn't go down, it might be enough to make me open an account on RealBM and see how long it takes the "Clique of Moderator Assholes" to ban me.

What fun that would be.

Gravatar Bulpett says the Garnett deal moves closer:

http://celtics.bostonherald.com/...567& srvc=sports

In other news, Gin Baker gets picked up for DUI.

Gravatar can't agree with the consesus about this one. Al Jefferson's breakout season coincides with a historically bad Celtics team. His percentages were good and rebound rates strong but if they have the chance to get Garnett then they have to go for it. Jefferson is a big if and there is a good chance he regresses to be just an average player. He's also a horrible horrible defender.

Gravatar Don't entirely disagree with that, Willie. I say make the deal, and I've weakened on the "no Jefferson" prohibition. I'm not crazy about moving both Al and the 5, but it's true that the 5 might be a better value for this team than the absurd contract Al might command soon.

Gravatar Plus, if Al moves in a Garnett deal, the wailing and gnashing of teeth from the proponents of Danny's youth movement will be beautiful to watch unfold.

Beneath every dark cloud is a silver lining, eh?

Gravatar One thing to consider is that Al Jefferson is going to have to be resigned. Jefferson is great to have on a rookie scale contract, in fact one of the most valuable players in the league when you consider what he is paid...

However, he expires in two seasons and one of two things could happen. Either he regresses and doesn't earn a huge payday and we kick ourselves for not dealing him for KG - or he posts a 20-10 season and asks for max money.

Is Al Jefferson, leader of a team that lost 18-straight worth it as a max guy? It's like paying Rashard Lewis the max. Yeah, he's good. No, he shouldn't make that much money. Al is great on the glass and can score, but still, I watched the Warriors burn him for 5 straight layups in a game I went to this year. I think he is still horrible on D and I'm not sure that he'll ever improve to above average on defense.

KG gets paid a lot, but he really is one of the best players in the league. There's LeBron, Kobe, Nash, Duncan, and then after that Kidd, KG, and Dirk are all right there, imo.

We aren't getting Timmy Dunks or LeBron, and outside of them if anyone will actually earn a max salary it's KG.

It is a lot to pay. Jefferson and the right pick at #5 could end up being pretty good. I also don't think that just trading for KG makes this team a contender. Ainge will still have to fill out the roster with quality players in order for the Celts to compete. Considering that he is a fucking idiot, I'm not sure that he'll be able to make it happen.

But hey, whatever happens, at least we'll still have Scalabrine as a lookerroom guy. That's gotta be worth something, right? RIGHT??

Fuck You, Danny!

Gravatar I agree EJ. You just can't have enough intangibles. Especially when they are of the kind that The Great Scalabrine stuffs his bra with.

Fuck you, Danny. Uh, yeah, and you too, Doc.

Gravatar Oh, perhaps something relevant from ESPN, posted on CelticsBlah:

Garnett Says "No Thanks Boston"

Garnett's agent, Andy Miller, told ESPN.com's Chris Sheridan that Garnett made it known to the Wolves and Celtics late Wednesday that he had no interest in playing for Boston. The implication was clear: If Minnesota dealt him to Boston, Garnett would opt out of his contract next summer.

"The Boston trade isn't happening," Miller told Sheridan on Thursday. "If a trade were to happen, that's not a destination that we're interested in pursuing."

Asked where Garnett would prefer to be dealt, Miller replied: "Too early. Ask me in two days."

I can't imagine why KG wouldn't want to come to a team run by those two fucking clowns, Danny and Doc, that jut tanked the season to get a #5 pick. And don't try to blame it on the cold; he's played his whole career in the icy wasteland of Minnesota.

Gravatar I'd rather not be right here, but ...

Perhaps all the dumb fucks who have thrown in with Wyc and Danny will now begin to appreciate how badly those two morons have fucked up the franchise.

When a guy with zero hope of sniffing the playoffs in Minny chooses to stay there over an east team, then the message is clear.

The Boston Celtics aren't shit in the NBA any more.

Gravatar speechless. anon and jj said it all.

Gravatar Oh just went to ESPN..

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/ne...tory? id=2912075

Marion doesn't want to play here, either.

Gravatar Watch the dumb shits try to extend the blame for this to Carr, Pitino, et al.

Message for the morons: How many games did this team win in 2002? How far did it go in the playoffs? How many games did this team win in 2004-05?

Players with choices want no part of Boston. Anyone check with Jefferson lately?

And the fault lies with the owner, and with his general manager.

Fuck you, Wyc. And fuck you too, Danny.

Gravatar We're a joke! We're a fucking joke! The greatest dynasty in the history of sports is now the biggest joke in sports! Even when ML Carr ran this team we had some respect!

Gravatar There's a bright side to this for the Danny-boys.

They won't have to confront reality - they're wrong - at least until mid-season when the losses reach epic proportions again. So they've got some lead time to craft their inane, vaccuous alibis for the gross mismanagement of this club by Grousbeck and Ainge.

And in the meantime, Wyc will spread some more free ducats around - God knows he'll have more and more of them available - to buy the loyalty of the less credible out there on the Web.

It's mind-boggling and sad what those two ass-clowns have done to the Celtics. I thank God that Red isn't around to watch these two idiots continue to tear down his life's work.

At least John Y. Brown had Red. While Wyc is every bit as incompetent as Brown, Ainge is the absolute antithesis of Red.

Gravatar Are we really drafting Yi? Is that really going to happen? Can someone please assure me that the Celtics aren't really going to draft Yi?

Fuck You, Danny, the Celtics are a joke.

Gravatar It makes some sense, doesn't it?

Consider this marketing ploy: "We're going to suck ass on the floor again, so let's at least sell some jersies in China."

It's all about money with that fucking Grousbeck. Winning be damned. Just make some money.

Gravatar Chad Ford reporting tonight that Garnett is rethinking his refusal to come to Boston - if no deal can be worked out with the Suns.

And ... Pierce will request a trade if he doesn't get veteran help this summer.

Gravatar Good. Let Pierce go. We need to get rid of Pierce, get rid of Danny, get rid of Doc, I would say get rid of Wyc but thats not gonna happen, and blow this thing up and start all over again. Oh yeah, get rid Suckbastian, and Tony Allen just because I don't like him.

Start with a nucleus of young players, led by Jefferson, and build through the draft.

I'm not against drafting Yi. Draft Yi, or draft Conley. Anyone who says we already have Rondo doesnt realize that Conley is WAY better.

Get a good draft pick for Pierce and get another young player.

Then get rid of Doc and Ainge and dont mess with anything for 5 years.

Gravatar That said, I'm not against obtaining Pau Gasol for the #5 and change, if that's on the table. If we can keep Jefferson, I think that would be a good deal.

Gravatar I'm strongly in favor of dumping Laurel and Hardy as soon as possible, but I don't just want to wait around for the draft to finally produce something. They need try to move some of these young journeymen and large contracts for a real veteran leader.

Gravatar I am, and have been, open to Gasol as well. And I'd rather not do both Jefferson and the 5 for Garnett.

But, I don't think we can dismiss the possibility that all this trade talk is bullshit, cover so Wyc and Danny can tell the fanbase, "We tried. Couldn't get anyone. Now, stick with us because these kids are going to be great."

As we all know, there are dumbfucks galore out there ready, willing and able to embrace that bullshit even today with all the mental posturing their 50 IQs can muster.

Gravatar http://celtics.bostonherald.com/...154& srvc=sports

Iverson deja vu, anyone? Still think there is a chance this is all bullshit. It's the favorite strategy of my favorite baseball club, the St. Louis Cardinals - make a half-hearted run at a star, then throw up your hands and tell the angry fanbase, "What can we do? We tried."

Couple of points:

1. Garnett automatically would become a borderline top 5, and certain top 10 player in Celtics history. Still wouldn't blame him for looking at Ainge and Wyc's record and saying, "No way." But he'd be a major addition.

2. If Jefferson was as talented as many of the dumbfucks are trying to claim, that why didn't the team he led last winter sans Pierce win more than four stinking ballgames? Answer: His talent is being exaggerated, which is the one hallmark of every Celtics internet board on Earth.

I still am extremely skeptical this deal is a real possibility.

Gravatar Wild day of rumors, and very little to change my original opinion that Ainge and Wyc are floating rumors they have no intention of completing.

A little ugliness for our friends over at RealBM, where one of the mods reported a "done" Garnett deal to LA floated by a reporter whose credibility is under heavy fire on the Celtics and T-Wolves boards.

It has not been a good couple of weeks to be a RealBM moderator.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Gravatar I saw that, Jim. I guess some guy on CSL said that hoopsworld.com reported a "done deal", when the guy really just said that there was a strong likelyhood of a deal getting done.

I go to that site primarily for the humor and the outrageous predictions, but also because it is a group of Celtics fans that listen to talk radio, keep up to date on the latest rumors, and post what they hear. If I need a good laugh I'll read their analysis.

It is a shame that the moderators have decided that they themselves are the insiders and that the CSL show has the real inside scoop. Isn't that show run by that dumbfuck Elrod? It'd be nice if they'd all just go back to being fans and stop trying to convince themselves that they knew more than anyone else.

There was just a post from Ranter, who apparently writes for Celticsblog, who essentially wrote "I know I am a dumbfuck, I don't try to be objective, I have green tinted glasses on." At least he wass being honest with himself.

Anyways...Draft is Thursday. If Danny drafts Yi, I hope it's because he thinks he will be a better basketball player than anyone else available and not because he wants the Chinese to tune into Celtics telecasts and wants to sell Yi jerseys overseas. I still contend that the best way to make money as a pro sports team is to win games, sell out arenas, and collect playoff revenue. Call me crazy, but wasting lotto picks on salary dumps (Roy) and the Chinese Fred Roberts are only short term solutions.

If Brewer comes out and duplicates Roy's rookie season from last year and Yi averages 3ppg next year I'm not going to be happy.

It does not look like a deal will get done. KG and O'Neal were recently on the table and shot down. We haven't heard Marion's name in a while and Gasol's name in an even longer period of time. Lewis is appealing, but only at the right price.

Gravatar The price for inaction is apparently going to be Paul Pierce - the only legitimate NBA player on the roster. That will complete the total and utter destruction of the Boston Celtics.

BTW, Ranter is Jeff Clark.

Gravatar Oh... LOL.. Sorry Jeff. For some reason I thought Jeff posted as "Jeff" on RealBM. I guess I must've made that one up...

Now Danny has himself in a position where he could've dealt Pierce for Paul a couple years ago - and now he's going to get no where near equal value for his captain.

He chose to build around Pierce, chose to pay him max dollars, and then chose to surround him with players 5-10 years younger than him and expected this "happy camper" shit to last forever.

This is where Danny is going to pay the price for not choosing one clear direction to go in with this team. Some of his moves (Payton, Pierce extension, attempted Mailman signing, Scal) are to bring a veteran presence to the team. Other moves (Davis, Rondo, drafting 5,000 high school kids) have been to build through youth.

My personal opinion is that Danny is a fucking idiot with a really crappy plan, but if you read RealBM you'd know that many fans think that Danny is capable of building around Pierce while complimenting him with future all-stars that he is able to pluck out of the mid to late first round.

All the while they've been touting how Danny has accumulated "assets" that he will be able to cash in for an All-Star - and now that he has proven that he can't do that they all want to stay the course.

Internet Celtics fans... gotta love 'em!!

Oh yeah...Fuck you, Danny!!!

Gravatar If we get through Thursday doing nothing more than wasting 5 on that fucking Chinese stiff, then you are witnessing the end of the Boston Celtics as we've known them.

Pierce will demand a trade, and be dealt for less than 50 cents on the dollar. The collection of stiffs we have will continue to lose in record numbers. Why will reveal himself to be the Chinese Fred Roberts.

And our Internet pals will continue to angrily look toward the future. "Rondo's only been in the league 10 years. Give him time to develop a jumper."

Any chance this franchise had of winning in my lifetime - and I'm 47 - is on life support right now. If Ainge fucks up the trade possibilities, that chance is gone.

Fuck you, Danny. And fuck you, Wyc.

Gravatar I agree, Jim. The Celtics are pretty much fucked. If they choose to rebuild now and can't even get market value for Pierce it has to be considered one of Ainge's biggest failures to date.

He could've dealt a 27-year old Pierce for a LOT. He chose to max him out, surround him with garbage, piss him off, and now likely drive him out of town.

Although don't worry - I have a feeling everything is going to be okay. You see, if Kendrick Perkins went to four years of college, he'd be a rookie this year!! That has to be one of my favorite running excuses for why the Celtics' youth is so inept.

I bet I could go to RealBM right now and bait someone into saying: "If Perk spent 4-years at Memphis, he'd be 1c with Oden and Durant"

It's a painful time to be a Celtics fan, and I just can't shake the feeling that Boston is going to draft Yi for all the wrong reasons. That's the type of organization this has become - an organization that I fear would make a draft pick to tap into the Chinese market rather than improve the team on the floor.

Gravatar I couldn't agree more.

It's shocking, and painful, to see the absolute ineptitude in the Celtics front office.

I'm almost numb to it - with the exception that Pierce should be freed if we waste 5 on the Chinese Hank Finkel.

Gravatar So Pierce might demand a trade, huh? Do if Danny. Get as much as you can.

Gravatar Yeah, me too. By the end of the week, Al Jefferson will be our best player, we're going to have a giant fucking Chinese disaster on our hands and Paul Pierce will finally be free of the most fucked up franchise in the NBA.

Gravatar I agree with lickalottapus that it would have been nice if Danny tried to trade Pierce and get as much as he could.

Unfortunatly, Pierce's public comments hurt his trade value. As does the fact that no GM in the NBA wants to be known as the guy who put Boston back on the map by getting fleeced by the Celtics.

And let's be realistic, with Danny running the show the Celtics are the team that other GMs call with wacky one-sided trade proposals.

Looks like we could be praying to win the OJ Mayo sweepstakes next year. Sigh..

Gravatar The best chance to move Pierce evaporated when dumbfuck Wyc said no to Chris Paul.

Now, it's pennies on the dollar and the equivalent of an expansion team if Pierce gets moved.

Gravatar Ahahahahahahaha.

According to Bulpett, those fucking idiots Grousbeck and Ainge think they've got a playoff team for next year - as it stands.

We are truly fucked. Pierce is gone, and now we're an expansion team.

Gravatar I'm sorry JJ, but if Pierce wants to handcuff the organization, then screw him. He just signed an extension for $20 million or something, so he should just shut his mouth and play.

If we end up giving away the #5 and Jefferson for somebody like Jermaine ONeal or Shawn Marion, we can blame Pierce and Wyc. I wont fault Danny because he's not smart enough.

Gravatar I'm looking on the bright side though, after we win a total of 7 games next year I'll be able to buy season tickets for about $25!

Gravatar Actually, I think the organization has handcuffed Pierce. We don't know what promises have been made to him, but I'm pretty sure that "we're going to surround you with a bunch of overrated kids who largely suck" isn't one of them.

Anyone got Grousbeck's e-mail? I'd like to share a few thoughts with that dumb fuck.

Gravatar I think Jefferson and the 5 for Garnett was a little high - but as we've seen, no credible NBA player with a choice wants to play in Boston.

If there's a clearer referendum on the competence of Grousbeck and Ainge, I don't know what it is.

Gravatar And now, the Suns apparently have put Amare in play in a proposed three way that the Atlanta Hawks are tepid about.

Since we can't count on the Dynamic Dumbfucks to come up with anything useful on their own:

Wyc and Danny, here's a thought: Wouldn't it be worth it to spin Al and 5 to Minny if Amare is what's coming back? I'm admittedly tepid about Marion, but Amare's a stud - more so than Al.

Just a thought, fellas, but Amare looks better to me than a giant fucking Chinese stiff.

Gravatar Anyone wanna do a three way with me and the Old Bag? You eat her while I watch. And speaking of the Chinese, I guarantee you, an hour after you eat her you won't be hungry again.

Gravatar 20 hours to go.

let's play "what's Wyc thinking";

1. I need an asian boy toy to lick my asshole, daddy please buy one.

2. If Paul comes over I'll suck his dick.

3. I can't believe I bought into Danny fucking Ainge and his shyster brain doctor for the past four years.

stop the madness Wyc. fire Ainge. fire Doc. free Pierce.

the sad thing is that I went through the archive for the last 3 years and CelticsDoom hit the mark almost every fucking time.

Gravatar Aw, Willie, but we're a bunch of senseless pessimists who don't appreciate all the wonderful young talent Ainge accumulates.

And if we're just patient - or if we all eat the Old Bag - we'll wake up one day and Perkins will be Bill Russell, Tony Allen will be Billy Graham, Rondo will be Bob Cousy and that nasty, hateful Pierce will be all twaded awayyyyyyy ...

Chortle.

It's why I'm here, man. There's more accumulated wisdom on this board than on CelticsBlah, RealBM and the others combined.

Gravatar As for Wyc, I don't know the guy at all. He might be a nice guy. Lots of fucking idiots are nice guys.

What I do know is that he's taken a tough situation with the Celtics and, aided by a Mormon moron, made it almost impossibly bad.

Gravatar Danny wants Yi, per Andy Katz.

Is it possible for this idiot to fuck up this franchise any further?

Of course it is. He'll trade Paul Pierce for Earl Boykins.

It's time to face reality. The Boston Celtics I knew and loved as a kid are gone, claimed by little rich boys who think that having money makes them basketball smart.

Gravatar Ainge inherited a 45-win team. If he wanted to aim for the first round of the playoffs every year, he could've just tinkered with that roster.

If he wanted to rebuild, he could've traded Pierce and built through top 5 picks instead of top 25 picks.

Unfortunately, he thought that he'd be able to put one over every other GM in the league by drafting high school players and waiting for them to pan out.

The thing is, if high school players are good enough prospects they don't slide to 27 like Perkins did. They go #1 like Howard and LeBron.

When it's all said and done Danny's legacy will be that he dismantled a 45-win team and turned it into a 24-win team, ran the coach out of town, intentionally tanked a season, rewarded his overmatched coach with an extension for tanking, traded Roy for Telfair, and the big red cherry on top might be when he selects the Chinese Larry Krystkowiak in tommorow's NBA draft.

I am praying that some NBA GM, somewhere, is dumb enough to accept Danny's flaming pile of crap for their all-stars.

Gravatar It's no surprise that Celticsdoom has been right on the money about most points regarding Boston Celtics basketball in the past three years.

I still remember when I found this site. If I had to summarize my reaction in one word, it would be "FINALLY!!!!!!"

A Boston Celtics blog populated by people who didn't check their objectivity at the login screen. As you can see elsewhere on the 'Net, that is a rare thing.

It doesn't hurt that Chestnutt has more skill as a writer in his left pinky than anyone who writes for Celticsblah or RealBM.

Gravatar "It doesn't hurt that Chestnutt has more skill as a writer in his left pinky than anyone who writes for Celticsblah or RealBM.
EJ | 06.27.07 - 11:23 pm | # "

But it would help if he wrote more often than Shakespeare's corpse.

Gravatar Ever hear this guy Brewer speak? He makes me (Rocky) sound like a Rhodes Scholar by comparison. This guy is dumber than dirt. I don't get all the hype... IMO he would be a bigger risk than Yi.

Horford looks like a punk. I saw an interview with him where he basically clowned his Coach Billy Donovan.

Conley would be be my #1 choice. Big brain. That said, he has no chance of being drafted by the C's.

That by default leaves Yi. He is a huge risk. But I say we take the unknown commodity here and see what happens.

That's your Rocky pre-draft analysis. Enjoy the show. And, oh yeah, fuck Ainge, fuck Coc.

Gravatar I take that last part back. Danny Ainge and Doc Rivers are fine gentlemen. No need for profanity.

Gravatar Here's why Yi will be the choice:

Wyc thinks he can make money marketing the Chinese Paul Mokeski overseas.

Al Horford is four times the player today that Yi is.

But it won't matter. Grousbeck is about making money, whether it's throwing a draft choice away to dump Raef's contract or drafting a Chinese sideshow.

Once the deed is done, he'll turn to his buddies at CelticsBlah and the Karl Rove wannabes at RealBM to help sell the disaster to the witless, feckless fan base.

And, of course, they'll buy it. Next will come November, when the losses mount. And December, when the losses mount ...

And then next summer, fresh off a 30-52 season, we'll do it all again. There will be rumors about a blockbuster deal or 14, none of which will be true. And then we'll burn the sixth pick on a guy with three legs or a penis sticking out of his forehead.

Don't say that Jim didn't lay it all out for you.

Gravatar Jim, I agree with you. I'm going to change my mind. This quote from an ESPN article did it for me:

"That could pose a problem since the Bucks weren't on the approved list of teams by Yi's group (they're looking for a major city and a high Asian population)"

I say pass on the Chinese Eric Montoss.

Gravatar No, sorry... the Chinese Jerome Moiso.

Gravatar I can't decide if I think Yi will be a poor man's Dalibor Bagaric, or an Anorexic Chinese Big Country Reeves.

God. It even rhymes.

Gravatar MSN is reporting that the Sonics offered Ray Allen for the #5 and Theo Ratliff. If this is really on the table Danny has to do it. Sure, Ray is 32, but there are enough question marks on this team. This doesn't involve losing Jefferson and Allen is excellent offensively, with a shot and ball handling skills that are far superior to Pierce's.

Although the thought of watching Yi Jainlin match up against KG, Duncan, Amare, Boozer, and 'Sheed next year is appealing, I'd pull the trigger for Ray Allen. This doesn't even cost DWest, Green, or Rondo. Easy decision, imo.

Gravatar This is one of those tight fits.

If Horford's gone, I do the Ray Allen deal in a nanosecond - even though it's going to deprive all of us of watching Shaq break the Chinese Big Country Reeves - BWHAHAHAHAHA, best one ever - like a chopstick.

Horford would help this club, because he'd immediately be better than Jefferson defensively, and not that far off offensively.

But if the Dynamic Dumbfucks are more interested in marketing revenue than winning games, fuck them both. Trade for Ray Allen.

Shit, trade for Steve Allen.

Gravatar No way Horford is going to be there, though, right? First we heard he was Memphis' guy, and now Atlanta seems enamored with him. After the questions about his size were erased he seems to be the consensus #3 pick. Especially with Acie Law projected to be there for Atlanta's 2nd pick.

However, this is Hotlanta and Chris Wallace picking 3 and 4.

All that tanking we did and now I think most people here would LOVE to be picking after Yi was off the board. Go figure.

What happens if Conley slips to 5? Any chance Boston drafts him? I guess I'll find out in about an hour. Last year Danny proved to us that he will draft for need over taking the BPA so I kind of doubt Conley would be the pick even if he was there, since the Celts seem content with Rondo at this time.

I wasn't too hot on him in college because I felt like he hogged the ball too much but now I don't think I'd be against him being the pick.

Gravatar I'll be damned.

Katz reports the C's have traded West, Wally and the 5 to Seattle for Ray Allen - if Jeff Green is available at 5 to be picked.

Several internet reports that WEEI in Boston is claiming Al and Theo, along with picks, are in play for Garnett.

Gravatar BWAHAHAHAHA

All the youth movement pimps are having a stroke.

Sweet.

Gravatar Okay first I have to get one thing off my chest:

Ray Allen and Allen Ray - HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!

Gravatar I have to think that Danny has at least one more move on the table, whether it happens tonight or not.

Rashard Lewis is off the table. Wonder what that might be?

I could be wrong about this, but I don't think Minny has a first next year.

Wonder if Kevin would like that back along with Al and Theo for Garnett?

Gravatar Congrats Danny on your first good trade. Now that I see the C's also got Seattle's #35 pick... in this deep a draft, this could be an old-fashioned fleecing.

Delonte was WAY overrated by C's fans. Szerb is a walking injury.

Gravatar Ray Allen and Big Baby Davis for a power forward with limited upside, a vastly overrated guard and the walking injury report that is Wally the Vowel.

Ainge finally pulled off a decent trade.

Gravatar "Ray Allen and Big Baby Davis for a power forward with limited upside, a vastly overrated guard and the walking injury report that is Wally the Vowel.

Jungle Jim | 06.28.07 - 11:13 pm | # "

What trade was decent? This trade, left on its own, is horrible. Now, if this trade is a precursor to moving Jefferson for Garnett or some other big deal for a top flight veteran, maybe I'll have a different opinion. But, if the team stays as it is, I'd expect Ainge to be fired this season.

Gravatar I am kind of “meh” on the trade right now. This will be long….

Ray Allen is 32 years old and is nearing the end of his prime. He had not one but two ankle surgeries last season, which no doubt contributed to Ainge’s interest in him. Also ESPN reports that Seattle wanted Boston to throw in Rondo, and Ainge countered by asking Seattle to throw in Swift. Good fucking grief. Ainge’s almost traded the point guard of the Celtics for Side Show Bob. I am happy that they drafted a PG in the 2nd round. I was starting to worry that Sebustian might be back for Year 2.

Ray Allen does become the best player on the Boston Celtics, though. He is like Pierce, only if Pierce could shoot, dribble, and didn’t flop to get to the free throw line every play – minus some rebounding. From a basketball standpoint this is a huge upgrade. Allen is a massive upgrade from Tony Allen.

Unfortunately, this is a team whose current best guy is a borderline all-star who gets paid like he’s Tim Duncan. Considering what this team has, it is a good idea to get a known commodity on this roster.

Pierce is signed long-term. Whether we like it or not, Danny opted not to deal Pierce and rebuild correctly when he took over the job. Boston is stuck complimenting Pierce and trying to contend with him until he retires, most likely.

Considering that Danny was probably going to take Yi Jainlin, I like the trade. On a team full of question marks – Rondo, Allen, Perkins, Jefferson, and Green – the last thing I wanted was giant freaking Chinese unknown who lied about his age to play in the junior division. There is just no way of knowing that this guy was going to pan out. If Brewer or Green were the pick I might be singing a different song but as it is more than anything I am just relieved to not have Yi Jainlin on the Boston Celtics.

I know, JSimon on RealBM would’ve exploded in orgasmic ecstasy had the Celts have chosen Yi, but he also thinks that small ball wins in the NBA and would rather have Al Jefferson on the team and lose than win an NBA Championship without him. So basically he’s a fucking idiot. This was close to the right thing to do. I’d have preferred Gasol or Marion. I am happy that the Celtics kept Jefferson. I’m happy they didn’t pick Yi.

And oh boy, if Danny can really trade Theo, Al, and junk for KG that’d be quite the night for the Celtics. Now THAT is a threesome that you can build around.

I am definitely excited that Tony Allen or Gerald Green won’t be in the starting lineup. I am not too thrilled about Allen’s health, age, or reputation as a defender. I am excited that Doc has to be on a slightly shorter leash than before. He can’t blunder out of the gates into a pathetic record with Pierce, Allen, AND Jefferson and keep his job can he?

By no means is Danny done, but the Celtics did turn a corner tonight. They now have two aging stars that may very well already be past their prime. This is no longer a situatio

Gravatar wow I got cut off..

situation where it can be considered appropriate to draft projects or acquire youth – not that it ever was with Pierce still on the team but that’s basically why we all say “fuck you, Danny” after every post. This team needs veterans, a coach, and winners. It looks as if Danny may have finally chosen a direction – win now. This could be the end of Banks/Perkins drafts for a while. We’ll see. This is Danny Ainge we’re dealing with.

Also Delonte will be missed. He is what he is, not a great player, but consistent for what he did. I fucking hated Wally, so good riddance to him. Also maybe Ray Ray can teach Green a thing or two.

Gravatar After all that, the pick and West for Ray Allen.. I think I like it.. I just hope that Danny makes the necessary moves to put the team over the top. He is not done yet.

Gravatar "And oh boy, if Danny can really trade Theo, Al, and junk for KG that’d be quite the night for the Celtics. Now THAT is a threesome that you can build around."

This is what I mean by the Allen move being a precursor. Without something like that, Boston just gave up the #5 pick and Delonte for an older Wally.

Gravatar Got to disagree with you, Scintan. We got an All-Star, albeit a beat up one, for a spare part, a walking injury report and a pick that we were probably going to waste on the Chinese Big Country Reeves. I like the price, for the shooting and the leadership, the latter someone we have absolutely none of.

But I do agree that on its own, this trade improves the club only marginally. It does boot the Dolt Gerald Green to the bench where he can work on his GED, and buys Tony Allen some recovery time, unless he fucks that up, too.

Logic - which rarely if ever has anything to do with what Ainge does - seems to dictate a move for a big. Davis will help inside.

I wonder if Allen - a certified character guy - will have any impact on Garnett's musings about Boston. I'd be shocked if the question isn't or won't be asked.

Gravatar Wally couldn't average 27 a game in a wheelchair league - which is where he'll be playing next year.

Allen has to be healthy, but if he is, he's automatically the best player on the Celtics - scoring, passing, leadership. Paul might be better defensively.

Gravatar Looks like CelticsBlah and RealBM both blew up tonight.

That elevates the discourse on the Celtics a great deal, eh?

Gravatar I just have a hard time believing that Ainge has a plan or is thinking rationally. His entire tenure so far suggests otherwise. How beat up is Ray Ray? On paper it is an upgrage. If he can really swing a deal for KG, a job well done.

Gravatar Well, Pierce, a healthy Allen and Garnett win 55 games in the Least.

Gravatar I never thought that Danny had the chips to land Allen and KG. If he can really do that and keep Pierce, I'd be impressed. Hopefully Rondo stays, too. And then they'd have to get a couple more guys with above NBDL skill levels to compliment them and it could be a nice run for the next couple years.

Gravatar "Got to disagree with you, Scintan. Allen is turning 32 in July. I don't look at the deal being for Yi, I look at is being for the #5 pick.

If they are going to bring in another top veteran, I'm ok with the deal. If Ray Allen is the "big splash", Ainge should be fired before October comes around.

Gravatar This is just a strange feeling for me. Danny Ainge made a trade, and the other team's fans booed.

When is the last time the Celtics made a deal like that?

Gravatar P.S. If they're going to "go for it" now, they'd better use the full MLE and get something other than a Scalabrine level player, too.

Gravatar Exactly, Scintan. Danny isn't done yet. The Ray Allen trade is a kind gesture, but he's got a lot of work to do before this team is a contender. Ray Allen alone doesn't turn a 24-win team into a 60-win team.

Gravatar Even when the rumors were about Garnett, I said the same thing. It can't be one veteran. That's a complete disaster. The team has to fully invest in the "win now" mentality in order for this to be anything other than a disaster.

Think about it this way. If this team makes no other moves, and somehow squeaks into the playoffs (by no means a sure thing), that does nothing but give the team a worse pick next year, since the current squad doesn't have a chance in hell of doing anything significant next season. So, 2 years of draft picks will have been traded away for Theo's corpse, Sebastian "Trigger" Telfair, a 32 year old shooting guard who couldn't play defense if you put a gun to his head and a second round pick.

I'm in a wait and see mode. But there'd better be a very big move made, or this team will be completely screwed.

Gravatar Also I'm looking at some salaries now and it's going to be tough to match up with KG's deal.

It'd have to be like Theo/Green/Al/Perk

Gravatar Theo, Jefferson, Green and Scalabrine works on the ESPN trade machine.

Gravatar Just saw on an ESPN forum - someone said that NECN says the latest rumor is Kirilenko for Theo/Green/a future pick.

It's my first time on the forum and I don't know the poster but I'll take it for what it is - a rumor.

This says to me that at least Danny is trying to make another trade. This is a good sign and could get interesting.

Gravatar First, for the record, I agree IN TOTAL with Jeff Clark's assessment of the Allen deal over on the Blah.

The world as we know it is about to end, fellers. HAHAHAHAHA.

Now, as for Garnett, don't we hold Minny's first for next year from the Wally the Vowel deal? How's good old Kevin going to rebuild without a first - that should be pretty damn good next year?

Personally, I don't see Utah breaking up a team that made a run in the West.

Gravatar Boston does not hold a Minnesota first next year. The Minnesota first is contingent upon the Clippers getting a Wolves first rounder, but that is protected. 2 seasons after the Clippers pick is when Boston would get the pick. And, due to the CBA, it's possible that Boston will never get that #1, and may have to settle for a #2.

Gravatar Fine.

Offer them our first, then.

Gravatar I'm really ambivalent about Garnett. I like the Allen deal, but the Celtics need some continuation.

Pierce's, Allen's, and Garnett's careers (or peaks) should end at all about the same time. Then it's plop, right back into the shithouse.

I think we should hold on to Al. Now, if we could swing a deal for Gasol or Shane Battier or somebody using our other "talent", I would be for that.

Gravatar Well, considering we've spent all or most of the last four years in the shithouse ...

Garnett would automatically be one of the top five or 10 Celtics of all time. Hard to say no to that.

And, chuckle, it'd be too delicious to watch the reactions of all the C's fans who care more about the youth movement than winning basketball games.

Gravatar The Celtics are pretty damn close to being a team worth supporting.

Can Danny deal Theo/Al/Green for KG?

Could he trade Theo/Green/whatever for Camby, Kirilenko, Marion, or Lewis?

As it is right now I don't see the team with Ray Ray making it to the 2nd Round. Coc will probably have Allen splitting time three-ways with Tony Allen and Gerald Green and possibly even logging 10mpg at PF in a "small-ball" lineup.

He's got to make that next move. The Celtics now have 3 legitimate NBA players, get a 4th and they could be onto something. Not sure if they have the ammo to get a deal done, though.

I'm also not sure that Wyc is willing to take on another salary. We'll see. I have seen official reports that the Celtics have contacted the T-Pups and the Sonics so at least Danny isn't just sitting on his ass after that deal.

Kirilenko has to be available, the owner called him out, he had a breakdown in the playoffs, he regressed last year, Sloan hates him, he's playing out of position, and complaining about it. It also looks like Camby is being shopped.

How would people feel if the Celts kept Al, and got a player who is less than KG - like Andrei or Camby? And is this even a possibility considering what the Celts have to offer?

Gravatar Where have you gone, Dr. Ches--nutt?

A nation turns its lonely eyes to you... youUUU.

What's that you say, Celtics Doomers?

The Good Doctor has left and gone away... ay-ay-ay... ay...ay...ay

Gravatar I also wonder if Bibby could be available. He had an off-year and the Kings are a mess. I wonder if they'd be up for a salary dump + picks + a couple young guys.

Gravatar I just don't understand all the sudden enthusiasm based upon a 32 year old jumpshooter. This team hasn't even done enough to guarantee itself a playoff spot.

Again, if the move is accompanied by another big move (Amare/KG) I'll be loving it. But, if nothing further develops, it's yet another stupid move by Ainge.

To me, how good the trade turns out to be really depends on whether it's a move made in a vacuum or a move made as part of a conceived and well-executed plan.

Gravatar This is good stuff, courtesy of Brickowski on the Blah - who proclaimed a couple of days ago his love for the Raptors and his intention to leave the board:

"As I said in the threads yesterday I'd rather have Orien Greene than any of the options you mention except Steve Blake, who will be too expensive. Greene turns the ball over alot, but he's 6-4 and he can defend-- at the 1 or the 2. But I guess that speeding ticket in Waltham ruins any chance he might have with our brilliant ownership.

I also like the iea of bringing an experienced player from Europe, e.g. Will Solomon."

Short of a playoff berth, I don't know how much more fun I could have than watching Jeff's Blah posse turn on the franchise, confronted with - gasp - being wrong about their beloved youth movement.

Good times, fellas.

Gravatar Trading for Garnett is insanity....

And Jeff Clark has officially lost his mind.

You can get a guy like Gasol or Camby for half the price, not give up Jefferson, and be better in the long run... Those guys play better defense, don't need the basketball in their hands to be effective, and have brains twice the size of Garnett's.

I'm not a youth movement guy, but do you really want to give up our best young post player since.... Kevin McHale? For 1-3 years of Garnett?

Gasol isn't even better than Garnett on defense in Gasol's wildest dreams, never mind in real life.

Gravatar Last season:

Gasol: 10 R/G, 2.1 B/G, 2.75 T/G, .5 S/G

Garnett: 13 R/G, 1.7 B/G, 1.2 S/G, 2.7 TO

Garnett got three more rebounds a game. Gasol did better in blocks, Garnett in steals-- we'll call that a push. Turnovers are the same. Garnett did his work in three minutes more per game.

Gasol is four years younger. he averaged one less point per game, in three minutes less of playing time.

Garnett will cost us Al. Gasol concievably won't.

I'll go with Gasol....

Gravatar I'm not sorry to see Szerbiak go. He spent a lot of time putting his hand on other people's asses. He reminded me of a guy in high school that used to stick his finger up his ass and then go around letting guys smell it thinking they were smelling pussy. Goodbye Wally, get your hand off everyone's ass.

Gravatar Happy 4th Everybody...

Also I am not sure that the stats tell the whole story with Gasol and Garnett. KG is always in the running for All-NBA defensive teams, Gasol I think is considered to be soft.

Both approaches have their merits. Garnett is easily one of the top players in the game and Gasol is a very good player who may not cost Al Jefferson.

Is Wyc willing to pay? Trading for KG or Gasol would most likely mean that Wyc would have to pay the luxyry tax, maybe even multiple times - unless he kept the rest of the roster barren.

That's the price he will have to pay to win while building around Pierce with that salary, though. Either that or he just doesn't care and only wants to sell tickets to the Allen/Pierce show and go .500 every year..

Gravatar I'd say there is an 80% chance that Danny does one of the following:

1. Signs Darko
2. Signs Keith Van Horn
3. Trades for Yi

thoughts?

Gravatar I'm not sure how much can be done with the salary cap situation. Theo's contract money has to go to Al next year, and I don't see Wyc paying the luxury tax. I wouldn't mind taking a chance on Darko, just can't figure how to pull it off financially.

Gravatar Unless, of course, you ship Al out. Right now, he's nowhere near a max player. Maybe 5 for 55, tops, IMHO. And I'd certainly try to avoid paying that much to a guy who can't guard Red's rotting, fetid corpse.

Gravatar Tittyfuck, I hope you are wrong. If Wyc's plan is really to give Pierce/Allen 2/3 of the team's salary cap and then just sit there with their thumbs up their asses - then this is a stupid plan.

I don't think there are too many people who think a Pierce/Allen/Jefferson threesome will be contending for NBA championships. Also they are going to have to pay Rondo and whatever other kids they want to keep which could also very easily put the Celtics in luxury tax range even without any other major additions.

eh, what does Wyc care.. People will buy tickets to watch Pierce and Allen - and the majority of the fan base won't even call him out for lying when he said he was committed to bringing a championship to Boston.

It's a frustrating team to be a fan of. We have no idea what the team is willing to spend or what the team's immediate goals are.

Gravatar My weenie is teenie
My hiney is tiny
If you think it don't stink
It can be a vaginy

Gravatar Will, I need to hook you up with the Old Bag. You two deserve each other. So we signed a new guy, Wallace(?). Rondo's shot doesn't look any better so far, and we sure could use another big.

Gravatar I have got to reccomend the "Players in the NBA with a low BBIQ. The Definitive List" Thread on RealBM.

http://www.realgm.com/boards/vie...=asc& highlight=

GreenerPastures may have secured the Wigglestrue Honororary Internet Dolt of the Year Award. If you sift through the replies, you'll see Darth Celtic claiming to have a high IQ, and then someone claiming that 1 in 5 people in the USA can not read.

High comedy.

Gravatar Rashard Lewis.... Let's all be thankful that wasn' the Celtics that made that deal..

Gravatar Lewis, even with his deal, would have been far better than doing nothing.

Unless, that is, you think Davis, Pruitt and Wallace are the next Run TMC or something.

Gravatar This team sucks. Danny makes a trade for Ray Allen and even Celticsdoomers speculate that the Celtics might actually be trying to win basketball games.

What happens in the next couple weeks? Danny makes a run at Joe Smith and Keyon Dooling while all low-priced veterans that would help go and sign with other teams. We're treated to damage-control articles in the local papers talking about how Ratliff might help on the court next year.

Unreal. Fire Danny, fuck Coc. I actually do hope they can trade Sebustian for Jasikevicius, he looked pretty freaking good in international play a few years ago. Yeah he didn't really succeed in the NBA but I think he has a better chance than Bassy and we could use a PG that can shoot.

Gravatar And Soreooonus doesn't carry a gun, eh?

If Danny's done dealing, then the Allen trade was a waste. If he isn't, it might not have been.

Pretty simple. If we're rolling the Fred G. Sanford of the NBA, Theo Ratliff, out there in the middle, we're scrood.

Gravatar Don't forget Jim, if Perkins went to four years of college, he'd be a rookie this year. He obviously would've dominated D1 basketball for the past four years and the top three would've been 1A - Greg Oden, 1B - Kevin Durant, and 1C - Kendrick Perkins and he'd be in line for a huge rookie season!

Oops - sorry about that. I forgot that Danny's youth movement has been a complete failure for a second there and that Kendrick Perkins sucks.

It's not a lie and it's not pessimism to say that as long as the Celts trot Leon Powe, Scalabrine, Telfuck, Gerald Green, and Allan Ray out there and expect them to do anything besides pad their stats in garbage time - this will not be a good basketball team.

Rondo still needs time, Al still can't pass or defend, Pierce is still a ball-hog, and the centers on this team are still Perkins and Ratliff.

Another trade is comically necessary. This is how all of the fanboys originally justified the Brandon Roy trade - Ratliff's expiring would enable Boston to trade for a quality player this year. Unfortunately, due to a number of dumb financial commitments (Scal, Pierce, Perkins to name 3) the team is teetering on edge of luxury-tax land and Wyc has not demonstrated a willingness to spend.

I heard that Mark Cuban is trying to buy the Chicago Cubs! Can we get him to buy the Celtics, too? Anyone got any ideas how we could make this happen?

Gravatar With every passing day I worry more that Wyc is going to try to pass Ray Allen off as some commitment to winning.

He's a nice piece, but Ray Allen alone isn't going to make chicken salad out of the chickenshit Wyc and Danny have assembled.

As for Perkins, he sucks. As does IQ #5, who looked like the mental midget he obviously is during yet another horseshit summer leage.

Can we put Green in a box and keep telling people he's going to be a star, so we can get something in trade for his worthless ass?

Gravatar With every passing day I worry more that Wyc is going to try to pass Ray Allen off as some commitment to winning....
Jungle Jim | 07.16.07 - 5:06 pm | #

The homers are starting to get that feeling too, and they're beginning to lose their minds as they attempt to justify it.

There are still some claiming that Boston will finish in the top 3 this season. I'm just wondering what's going to happen when they realize that teams they were expecting to slip, like New Jersey, have gotten better, and teams like Milwaukee could be much improved.

Gravatar Has Danny signed Van Horn yet?

Gravatar Nah. He's going to have to make a move for Yi to stop the tears of the youth movement pussies.

Gravatar Checking in:

Jim, the chicken salad comment was hysterical.

Disagree with you on Perk. Problem is under this "defense" or whatever it is that Rivers has out there, Perk's biggest weakness is exposed. He doesn't have the mobility to chase guards on the perimeter. He'll be a solid role player if coaching ever figures that out. There'll be few enough basketballs as it is and you'll need players who don't need the ball to be effective. With lazy defenders like Pierce and Allen on the roster it's not a bad thing to have someone with an actual defensive work ethic around the other high schoolers.

The Allen acquisition was to humor you, Jim. Enjoy the ride. Unfortunately, until Rivers is replaced, they could bring in anybody you want in and it won't alter the result much.

Gravatar Chuckle. Rivers isn't a great coach, but Red couldn't win with the kiddie corps Ainge built for last season.

In the meantime, lots of entertainment as Celtic Thug gets booted by the same sanctimonious dick who encouraged him on RealBM - Dumbass Darth - and takes his bullshit act to Celtics Blah.

Good times.

Gravatar Equally funny to pick up the Boston papers and read Glenn chastizing the fan base for overrating Jefferson.

Must be a busy day on the links or the ocean, because the Al Jefferson to the Hall of Fame Society has been ominously quiet today.

Gravatar Shak,

I disagree on Perk. He is not ready to contribute on a winner. If the Celtics are trying to win, as the Ray Allen acquisition suggests, they need to make another move for a player who can really protect the rim. Perk is six fouls and a few scowls per game at this point.

He looked somewhat promising two years ago so there might be hope for him, but his injuries are worrisome. Stojakovic is a shell of his former self with the exact same injury.

Danny got Ratliff so that he would have an expiring contract to deal for an actual NBA player. He better use it. The Celtics didn't have to trade for Ray Allen and they didn't have to resign Pierce - they could've dealt Pierce for players making less money and chosen a less expensive path.

Since they chose to take on two players with $18mil+ salaries, they have no choice but to pay the tax if they want to win with this current mix.

Does Wyc care enough to do that? Does Danny have the skill as a GM to get anything of worth for Ratliff/Green/Perk? Those are the questions that need to be resolved. My guess is that we will be treated to a 2007-08 season of watching this glorified .500 roster coached by Shits Rivers and expected to believe that the Celtics are trying to win championships.

Gravatar "I think we compare pretty well to Dallas in terms of talent" - HumbleBum, RealBM

Gravatar HAHAHAHAHA.

What the hell is he talking about? The Cowboys?

That site is positively hilarious: Bullshit posts like that, interspersed with the dicks who moderate the board congratulating themselves on their wisdom.

Gravatar What's most worrisome about Perkins is he has the offensive skills of Will Roberts.

Gravatar Celtics release Allan Gay. Now we don't even get to be amused by Tommy trying to call a game in which Ray Allen and Allan Ray are both in the game at the same time. It's pretty sad, that is one of the things I was looking forward to most about the 2007-08 Boston Celtics.

Oh yeah, have I mentioned lately that we suck, and that I fucking hate Wyc, Danny, and Coc? Just thought I'd throw that out there. I hope everyone who still visits this site is enjoying there summer. What a miserable team to be a fan of. The Celtics have demonstrated a complete inability to adapt to the salary cap era.

I actually met a guy who started counting Spurs' championships as Celtics' championships out of frustration. By his count, we're up to 19. This team is truly a joke.

Gravatar gotta love the NBA.

I've been wondering of late exactly how much of the league is on the up and up and how much is in the control of mafia thugs and punk criminals. The whole league is a fucking farse at this point so at least Wyc and Ainge are off the hook. Or maybe they look all the more pathetic as there the lowest of the low in a fucking low brow hoodwinking, carnival barking bullshit league that should be scrapped and started all over again.

I wouldn't be surprised if Stern has been making back room deals all along and the officials have been winking and nodding there way around for years. Stern probably is in the pocket of Vegas thugs and chinese mobsters.

fuck wyc, fuck danny, fuck doc, fuck stern.

It did crack me up that celticsblah trudges along cranking out endless dreck to the tune of "NEXT YEAR WILL BE EXCITING FOR THE UP AND COMING CELTICS!!!!" as the NBA is crumbling and not one article about it except to so "It's no big deal, this will actually fix things!!"

Gravatar Well, here's a little interruption on a nice Sunday:

No one is more critical of the egomaniacal cesspool that is Real BM, but ...

A poster named Kingly who posts rarely - same guy who runs Al's Web site - indicated today that the Al for Garnett deal is alive.

Kingly is one of a handful of posters on that board I'd take seriously.

Something to ponder.

Gravatar And now Kingly says that something could go down in 24 hours.

If RealBM actually breaks a story like this, you'll never be able to get a cap on the heads of those butt plugs like Darth Celtic, Super Deluxe and their asshole buddies.

Gravatar Make it happen, Danny.

Gravatar Is this a done deal? The Herald put up an article at 4:07 saying that Ainge had worked out an extention for KG and that the deal was essentially complete, with Rondo staying and Gomes going.

I think it's what they had to do after the Ray Allen trade. Danny took a 24-win team and turned it into a team with KG, Allen, and Pierce. I don't know what to say, I didn't think this would've been possible. Hopefully he'll sign another PG and see what happens this year.

Gravatar I've said it before and I'll say it again: I will publicly apologize to Laurel and Hardy, uhm, I mean, Danny and Doc, here and on CelticsBlah, if this team makes it to the NBA finals under their leadership.

Gravatar Well, I'm in shock.

This is one of the most amazing reconstructions of a pile of dog shit in NBA history.

I don't know what pleases me more - the fact that the Boston Celtics are relevant again, or the chance to watch the titty babies wail on the Web.

"Ryan Gomes? OH NOOOOOOOO. It's a deal breaker."

What a bunch of idiots we have for fans.

Gravatar This is pretty exciting. I think Antoine's jealous. This is the best shot we have had at a title in twenty years. The best thing is with these three vets the coaching should be a lot easier for Coc. Can't wait to see our salaries and the luxury tax situation. We will be the talk of the league, featured on all the magazines, the Celtics are relevant again. Just go out and kick some ass and get this twenty year bile out of my system. Now, if Danny could just trade the Old Bag...

Gravatar holy fuck. I think I might offer to blow Danny Ainge.

I agree with Jim, an added side benefit are the maudlin posts about how much we'll miss Gerald Green and Ryen Gomes.

Green looked like a spastic asshole in summer league for those that didn't watch.

Is Chestnutt or Pierce Overrated still alive?

Gravatar We have so many fucking idiots posting on the various message boards. Ryan Gomes is a deal-breaker, Gerald Green and his uniform number 5 IQ will be sorely missed.

Jeebus, how stupid can people be? For God's sake, we now have three HOFers, three of the league's top 20 scorers, the league's top rebounder and all you stupid shits can talk about is "we lost our bench."

Well, guess what? The bench we lost sucks balls. Big Al will have a nice career; name me anyone else involved in this deal who will be so much as remembered in 10 years.

The Celtic fan base is polluted with idiots who care more about their individual favorites than the team itself. Idiots, one and all.

Gravatar Revile me if you will, but the Celtics gave up a LOT to get a 30/31 year old Garnett. Pierce was hurt last year. Allen was hurt last year. What are the odds that all three of these guys are going to be healthy all year this year, next year and the year after, before they really run down? Jefferson is a star in the making. Greeen is dumb but is also young - only two years out of hs, poor summer notwithstanding. These guys develop with time. The number one pick on 2008, and the other pick in 2009, gone, and drafting is Ainges strong point. Gomes is a good role player. Telfair will never amount to anything. I'm just not convinced that what they lost in AJ/Green/the picks/ justifies the one guy. I was willing to wait for AJ and Green, and dump Pierce for mid-season.

Gravatar Like it or not, this trade is all about Desparate Danny trying to salvage his job. It's all or nothing this year. And even a pussy like Wyc couldn't not fire Danny if this year was anything like the past four.

Gravatar One funny side story to this trade is...Didn't Al Jeff, in his role as eighth-grade educated corporate cocksucker, malign Blount and Davis publicly before the two exiled to Minnesota? I'm sure they'll be waiting to welcome the young dummy with open arms.

Gravatar Green isn't intelligent enough to ever amount to anything. He's entering his third year without making any significant progress, and according to Bulpett, even McHale doesn't think he's going to be a player. He's flotsam attached to make the trade work.

As for value in this deal, we moved Al and picks for Garnett. It's a steal, plain and simple - and it's pretty easy to tell where the fans fall on the team vs. individual debate by reading their reactions.

Gravatar I believe that Al did indeed malign the lazy one and the one who wouldn't play when his braider was out of town.

Chortle. That ought to be interesting.

Gravatar BTW, our old trolling buddy Jeff Clark deserves some props. I've been reading some of his work over the past six months and he's grown much more even-handed in his handling of the Celtics.

While some of those around him - Brickowski is one name who comes to mind - continue to erode their own credibility by refusing to accept that they were wrong about the kids (trade chips, not a viable NBA group), good old Jeff found his objectivity.

Welcome to the "winning is what matters" crowd, Jeff.

Gravatar I really can't figure out that Brickowski guy. He didn't like the team before the trade, he hates it even worse now. In his opinion, drafting Mike Conley Jr. was our answer to everything. If he really liked the old team, he can root for the TWolves, they're more of the old Celtics than we are. This league is all about winning now, worrying about what's going to happen in 2010 is just a bunch of crap. Count me in on the guys that would give Danny a BJ, or, as Dr. Chestnutt used to say, I'm not gay, it's the guy behind me.

Gravatar Green's basketball IQ is the same as his ex-coach's coaching IQ. It's hard to tell what he'll turn out to be because like everybody we traded, they'll have an NBA coach for the first time. Garnett is going to feel like he just re-entered elementary school playing for Rivers.

This gets us to the second round. No further. River's incompetence will cancel out the talent.

Paul Pierce and Ray Allen will never be hall-of-famers, Jim. Unless the standard is thrown into a shredder.

Gravatar THIS YEAR, it's possible in terms of scoring and rebounds AJ will be very close to Garnett. Green is dumb, but he can take it to the hoop and get a shot off *at will*.

The basic point is - the Celts maybe have the pieces to compete for the EC, but if they had kept AJ and traded Pierce, then they could've built the future AND the present, with Ray Allen to lead instead of Pierce.

Gravatar The Blame Rivers crowd holds no water with me - yet - because he's consistently been given a shit roster to coach. And in lieu of the tools he's been given, he's surely on a very short leash to begin with.

As for Allen and Pierce, they're most assuredly HOFers as among the best of their era. Saying they're not to justify an opinion doesn't mean anything.

Blaming Rivers for everything is an abject cop-out; the guy hasn't proven he's a great coach, but Red couldn't turn a low-IQ egomaniac like Gerald Green into a player.

Gravatar Some asshole on Celticsblah named lemonadesky said he'd rather have the Timberwolves roster and prospects...where do they get these lamebrains from? When Jeff is going through his preinterview stuff to let these idiots sign on there should be some sort of mental test involved. Blount, RickyD, Bassy ... the Big Three.

Gravatar Rivers is the worst head coach in the NBA, but even he can't keep this team out of the playoffs, as long as Ainge gets depth to offset injuries.

Gravatar I think Danny is a disingenuous asshole, but I've been saying all along, I don't want to wait until Gerald Green grows hair on his balls for this team to be competitive.

The one thing that just amazes me, though: how does McHale still have a job? (Of course, if he takes Al under his gimpy wing, Al could be unstoppable.)

Gravatar People have been underrating McHale for a long time. The league took away those draft picks, his owner basically forced him to move Cassell and killed his leverage, he had a player (Sealy) die and another suffer a career threatening injury (McCants), and he's had all of this go against him at a time where the Western Conference is much stronger than the East. He's made some bonehead moves, but outside circumstances haven't helped him at all, either.

Gravatar Actually, McHale's in a boat that was leaking water big-time with KG. He needed someone to paddle - Al - and a boatload of cork - the rest of what we traded him - to buy some time.

Give me a Mutombo or a PJ Brown, and a competent vet at the point and this team wins at least 50. If it stays healthy, more.

I'll give Ainge this much credit: I thought that the day care had devalued itself so much last year that it couldn't be spun for credible help. He pulled it off anyway.

Must be a hell of a snake-oil salesman.

Gravatar Did you guys see the numbers for KG's extension? It's pretty reasonable, imo.

http://www.hoopshype.com/salarie...ries/ boston.htm

Also the Herald says that Boston is looking at Charlie Bell, Eddie House, Troy Hudson, and Brevin Knight at PG and Mutombo, PJ Brown, Michael Ruffin, Calvin Booth, and Scot Pollard in the front court.

I have a feeling that they could get Hudson for the minimum, but he hasn't been able to play for four years. I think Knight is a pretty good player, and Bell had decent stats last year altho I can't say I'm too familiar with his game. Mutombo could still play as of last year and PJ Brown is always solid.

At least Boston is still looking to improve, it's a good sign.

Gravatar Some rumblings that THud is going to come in at the vet minimum to be KG's binky.

Gravatar The Herald says that the Celts just signed Eddie House. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure he sucks. Maybe Hudson is also still in play. They also signed some NBDLer named Jackie Manuel who is 6'5", supposedly a good defender.

PJ wants the full midlevel, Dikembe is still an option..

Gravatar Dikembe is my first choice. He can spot start if the team needs it, and Perkins hasn't exactly proven that he's an 82 game player to date.

Gravatar Eddie House ain't Telfailure.

But he ain't Cousy, either.

A word of joy for the titty babies: Gomes may be about to get bought out by Minny.

Gravatar BTW, I like Dikembe, too - even if he is 70 years old.

Bring him in.

Gravatar I think we may be getting a little too upbeat here. WHERE THE FUCK IS DR. CHESTNUTT?

Gravatar It's a shame when Ainge took the shit to relieve ourselves of Telfair, Ratliff, Szcerbiak, et. al., he had to pinch a loaf and leave us with Scalaburine.

Gravatar Yeah seriously, where the fuck is Dr. Chestnutt?

Gravatar Hope he's not fucking the Celtics newest aquisition in the ass... then, there'd truly be a doctor in the House.

Gravatar "Rivers is the worst head coach in the NBA, but even he can't keep this team out of the playoffs, as long as Ainge gets depth to offset injuries."

------------------

If they're going to mortgage the team I'd think their goal is to get out of the first round. That won't happen under Rivers no matter who Ainge fills the roster with.

Gravatar Yeah, Rivers is a dolt. He only won 48 games with Walker and Payton, and he hasn't had jack shit to coach besides that.

Dude's no Red, but I'm not going to bury a guy who's been coaching the fucking 72-3 Sixers for the past two seasons.

Gravatar Rivers has been coaching in the NBA for 8 seasons and has never won more than 45 games in a season. If you're counting on him to help bring home the title, you might as well start planning for disappointment now. This team will win in spite of Rivers, not because of him.

Gravatar question, are you guys happy with this setup or would you like to have your own blog? perhaps run by Jungle Jim? it wouldn't be hard to set up and if I can help someone like CelticsThug, I sure don't have a problem helping you guys (and no it isn't just because JJ actually paid me a compliment - that must have hurt )

I just feel bad checking in here and seeing 500+ comments on one really old post

but if you guys are fine with it, more power to ya

(p.s. I miss Dr. Chestnutt)

Gravatar Question, who else could the Celts hire to coach? I think Jeff Van Gundy is still jobless. I think he's a good coach, but he's still a Knick to me and I'd rather not think about John Starks everytime I turn on a Celtics game.

I think Adelman might be looking for work, too, but he couldn't put it together with some loaded Kings teams and did a very poor job running the offense through a gimpy Webber when Vlade worked so well with the rest of that team.

We all know that Doc isn't great, he doesn't manage lineups well and he has failed numerous times to draw up one play that will work in crunch time. That could change now that he has talent on his roster, but I don't think anyone has very high expectations. Who is the best man for the job if Boston starts the year 5-9 and Doc gets canned?

Also I'd read a JJ blog everyday. I really just wish Dr. Chestnutt would come back and grace us with his wit, but I'm sure he's working hard and getting paid somewhere. Didn't some of you guys know him? Is JerkyCsFan still alive? Anyone on Wizznuts know the guy? We at least want a status update on the good Dr. I can't believe he didn't even swing by to drop some doom after that lottery night debacle.

With that said, I don't mind it here, either. A lot of great posters that I really enjoy reading already post here and it wouldn't be worth a move, imo, unless everyone went with it. It might spread the already thin roster of celticsdoomers too thin and then I could be stuck on realbm or some other site talking celtics if people stopped checking in.

Gravatar Actually, Jeff, the transformation in your site continues, including my total agreement with your position on the Garnett deal.

Pretty simple: Winning begats winning. That's why you make the deal. Certainly, the bench issue has to be addressed now and into the season, but I like Eddie House and Tony Allen as a defensive stopper is a good thing. I think Scals can help a good team, and Deke would seal the deal.

My frustration was - and will continue to be - with people who'd rather identify with a player or a group than with the success of the franchise. The Celtics are bigger than Big Al, Green, et al., even Garnett, Pierce, Ray Allen.

But now that the sadness of excuses has been replaced by the excitement of a commitment to winning, I can see the Celtics I grew to know and love coming back.

Celtic Pride is trite, but it's applicable here. It's finally back.

Gravatar I'm kinda curious about Doc, too - but I'm not totally convinced that he can't coach a good team.

I'd feel better if he had a Del Harris or a Tommy Heinsohn on the bench to kick him in the nads when he runs off track, though.

We were pretty good with Walkah and Payton. Doc didn't screw that up - too much.

Gravatar When Doc rode Walker and Payton to "48" wins (including playoffs), didn't we still have Obie's defensive guy, Dick Harter?

Doc totally sucks. I hope he doesn't screw this up.

Gravatar It seems like Harter got shitcanned at mid-season, but I might be wrong about that.

Gotta think that anything less than a fast start and Rick Adelman or a Dave Cowens-type is in Bahsten in a nanosecond.

Gravatar Reggie Miller? He averaged 15ppg just two years ago. It's hard to think he'd be any worse than what we've got now. He'd be a good guy to throw out there in foul shooting situations and would help break down zone defenses and who knows? He might even get on a few rolls over the course of the season.

I'm sure he can still run off a screen and bury a three. For a limited role, which he would obviously have, sign me up. Coc and Danny have been calling him and he's mulling over the decision to come back with friends and family. I'd like to see him on the team.

Gravatar The other day I was eating my lady and I pulled away for a few moments. She asked me what I was doing, and I said I had to think outside the box. Sounds like that's what Danny and Coc are doing. Sign up Reggie, let's get it on.
