Gravatar 3.5 out of 10 isn't bad. That would get you into the Cooperstown. : -)

I agree with you maybe 10% of the time at best. But I still enjoy reading your "progressive" side of issues. If for nothing else but to enjoy my right to be offended. I would party with you anytime. Especially on Canada Day.

So my 11 would be:
Vigorous Non Violent Disagreement

Have a Great Canada Day

Gravatar I love Canada. The people are friendly and the skiing is great.

Canada's worst fault is that they are terminally polite.

This shattered dream you cannot justify.
We're gonna scream until we're satisfied.
What are we running for?
We've got the right to be angry.
What are we running for?
When there's nowhere we can run to anymore!

We can't afford to be innocent
stand up and face the enemy.
It's a do or die situation,
We will be invincible.
And with the power of conviction there is no sacrifice.
It's a do or die situation,
We will be invincible.

Gravatar Bourgeois legality? Now there is a trip down memory lane for us all. But c'mon, Dr. Dawg, don't keep us in suspense, we need inspiration. Give us some examples of countries that have risen above all that bad old bourgeois legality and thus achieved a higher level of freedom for their citizens.

However, I do agree with your point that all this talk from libertarians about comparative greater freedom in the States is overly legalistic and ignores some very important cultural differences about how authority operates. Would you rather be arrested by an American or Canadian cop? Ask Conrad Black about how DA's operate down there. How about getting caught in the sights of a special prosecutor or grand jury or congressional committee or their federal bureaucracy over affirmative action, or EPA policies or Title IX or their latest other cause-de-jour?

Our food? Our FOOD!? Mmmm...fiddleheads. Dr. Dawg, you have to get out more. Happy Canada Day.

Gravatar Happy Canada Day, Dr. Dawg

Gravatar Right back atcha, people! Have a great Canada Day.

Gravatar Nice list, it's not bad to commemorate, why to love our country. However, I wonder how long the medicare will be number in the list. I think our health care problems are growing more and more and some action is inevitable. As a Toronto life insurance broker I am for bigger private health insurance, It seems it is the only way how to secure we will not have to send patients from overcrowded to USA for treatment and our owercrovded hospitals euquipped with obsolete tools down to USA!
Take care
Lorne

Gravatar Oh yeah, cause an insurance broker is sure to be unbiased when it comes to private insurance.
