The creepiest thing about this movement conservatism are the Coalitions of Convenience among Disparate sectaries (CCD...get it?) that form for one particular, narrow goal (usually character assassination or astroturfing) and then go quiet.

Peter did remind me of something though; I listened to a podcast yesterday of this episode of TVO's Big Ideas featuring Benjamin Barber and a lecture he gave at OISE based on his book Consumed: How Markets Corrupt Children, Infantilize Adults, and Swallow Citizens Whole.

A welcome break from the juvenilia of modern electoral politics, I must say.
