Dr D, strange but true: I have several cousins-in-law in Australia and NZ, and one of them is just now thinking seriously of adopting a wombat. Should I mention the leg scars and the razor-sharp teeth or not?

Yes, you should. I had thought, in addition, that the wombat was protected and could not be owned as a pet, but I could be wrong.
The coincidence, if that's what it was, was impressive, though. Three keepers, three almost identical scars. Maybe it was the same wombat. : )
