Dawg, thanks for the post. I came to know Marion when I cut my teeth as a cub reporter in Ottawa in the early 70's. She could be cutting in critique but there was never an ounce of meanness in that woman. She even understood people like me. I headed for the West Coast before the next mayor came along but, from what I learned of Ottawa mayors - and Canadian women - Marion ranked right up there with Charlotte Whitten.

Thank you for what could not have been a more generous compliment to my contribution to Marion's funeral--
A line missing in your presentation of the poem--
"And a whisper will be heard in the place" belongs right after the word plough as the first line in the last stanza.
