Dr. Forbush Thinks

Gravatar At a speech he gave last fall to a small group of Democrats in my town, my Representative stated that this administration is the most "arrogant and ideological" he had seen in forty years of following and participating in the political process.

Gravatar And, is anyone listening?

Gravatar Well, we were. It's a Democratic club. We are all Democrats and we do good works locally. Like an annual scholarship and stuff like that. Plus we organize our members to volunteer for campaigns. There were about sixty of us at the meeting. I am pretty sure I blogged about this. Don't worry, we get the word out. But this is New Jersey. We vote Democratic. I delivered New Jersey for Kerry and before that I delivered New Jersey for Gore. This fall I am going to elect Jon Corzine governor. We're listening in NJ. We have to work on you California people. I mean, Arnold? Are you shittin' me?

Gravatar Hey, there wasn't much choice during the recall out here. Cruz Bustamante was an arogant SOB. Arnold wouldn't take a stand on any issue. I voted for Araiana Huffington, but no one else took her seriously. I also voted against the recall, but Davis was too snide and didn't campaign against it until it was too late.

But Arnold's polling in the thirties and his propositions aren't taking hold either. But, no one out here has a clue as to what they actually want to do. Everyone is clear on what they don't want to do.

Gravatar I'd have voted for Gary Coleman. The little feller wasn't all that bad, actually. The fact is that a bunch of folks out thataway made one of the stupidest choices they could. But that's not unusual these days. It isn't like anyone is getting real choices, like there's a bunch of statesmen available and just a few venal opportunists. Quite the opposite.

Still. Arnold? "Are you shittin' me?" is exactly what I said when my brother in CA called me the day after the election and told me who won.
