First off, thank you for this series.
i don't understand why o why they would move this bill forward now, when we are still trying to move the Inclusive Hate Crimes bill , it seems like sabatage to me, honestly, next session of this congress after the passage of the Hate Crimes bill would be better timing.
We all have the vlog of him stating plainly that these bills would move forward INCLUSIVELY. - all i know is that a non inclusive bill is NO BILL at ALL. I also have faith that our lobbiests and speakers will be the best - they want more education , we will give them more - we will not be denied.

It's about time lawmakers commit themselves to the fundamental task of understanding "gender identity". Ignorance is certainly no excuse for elected officials to oppose "language" they don't understand. Nevertheless this has happened time and again. Not only at the federal level, but in proposed anti-discrimination language drafted from state to state.
Thanks for this informative and heartening news. I look forward to your upcoming blog series.
All the best,
Keri

I'm always disappointed to see trans people and our allies discussing ENDA, anti-discrimination laws, etc. as if the provisions on gender identity and expression are only relevant to trans people.
These laws protect everyone, trans or not, from being discriminated against because they aren't as masculine or as feminine as someone else thinks they should be. This means, for example, that a boss can't fire a woman because she doesn't use "enough" make-up.
Most of the incidents among people I know involve natal women, often heterosexual, being yanked out of women's restrooms - sometimes by male security personnel - because someone thought from their appearance that they were guys.
I think that this is going to be a hard sell for a lot of people who see this as special consideration for a small, fringe segment of the population. And it isn't. It affects pretty much everyone, and we need to say so.
