Edinburgh sells lots of Edinburgh rock. The castle is worth a look. The Botanical Gardens are also lovely. I was there during the fringe so there was loads of street theatre to just sit and watch. Great Place! Bring me back some tablet!

I'd be surprised if you haven't looked at any of these alreacy but, have a look on
http://www.edinburgh.org/
The National Gallery is worth a look
http://www.nationalgalleries.org/
and is right in the centre.
There are other ones too.
The Royal Scottish Museum is well worth a visit.

As I recall Alan liked the architecture of the (fairly) recent extension.
There's loads in Edinburgh and I would also recommend the Botanic Gardens though they are a little weather dependant but they do have a fairly large section of glasshouses should it rain.
Go up Calton Hill for a good view of the city. Arthurs seat may be a bit ambitious but you never know and there's the observatory on Blackford Hill.
I like the place which is odd as I'm a Glaswegian by birth.
The airport is quite far from the city centre and there is (currently) no fast rail link and the traffic can be murder.
I hope you have a good time.

Are you spending the night in Edinburgh? If so, have you thought of the Edinburgh Vaults tour? I hear it is very creepy.

Don't tell Mr BW about the rock or he'll want some.
That's 1p plus taxes though, isn't it? Still a great deal. Well done for getting through the website to book... I gave up.

National Gallery definitely, go first for the stunning collections of Scottish painting (eg. Phoebe Traquair). You can pick up a free bus outside the door to the DEAN GALLERY which has great dada & surrealist stuff.
Have a curry at Kushi's in Drummond Street - bit of a legend, scruffy, cheap, good.
