Doctor, you are right to compare Rowling and Tolkein. I was at an airport a few years ago and skimmed one of the Harry Potter books and made the comparison right away.

That's why I won't read Harry Potter. When I first started reading Lord of the Rings I didn't do anything else for weeks! I can't afford to do that today!

BTW, in a not-dissimilar vein, Tim Burton has a new animated pic due out in September in the style of The Nightmare Before Christmas, called The Corpse Bride.

I just saw previews of it, and it looked good.
