Dr S - as a mental health professional, what do you make of this woman's attitude? I find it remarkable that she thinks so highly of him, when he left her a widow with 3 kids to support in a society where widows and single women are not really helped bu social institutions or even by their extended family. As a non MHP, all I can think is this woman is stupid, and probably brainwashed enough to not realise the predicament her husband left her in.

It's bewildering, if you deny the existence of Islam.

It's a religion, so it gets a pass.

Religion is a deadly evil, in that part of the world, for those people. And it is spreading.

You can work the problem backwards, if you wish, and observe their pathological psychology, and trace it back to Islam.

Or you can look at Islam, and forcast the psychological results. And then observe them.

But the problem is religion, is Islam.
This is a fact.

Why should she care? Women are just as brainwashed as the men in that culture. Remember that her husband's mother probably prepared him from an early age to blow himself up for allah; just as she is preparing the next generation. Her own enslavement is somewhat ameliorated by these men acting out for her. The most interesting thing she says is," From when I just married him, I expected his martyrdom at any minute. When we had three children I told him that he was taking his time. I didn't expect to live with him for five years."
Sounds to me that she was eager for him to go do his thing and would likely be shamed if he didn't follow through.

Sad, aint it? I grew up in India with a lot of Muslim friends. I guess the Islam they practise there ( at least that the vast majority practised by the average Indian muslim) must be totally different than the version of Islam practised in countries from western Pakistan and further on towards SaudiArabia. Becasue, Indian muslims seem to be a lot more mellower. And of course, the extremists there barely get to act up much, becasue the Indian cops, unhampered by the likes of leftist groups like the ACLu and Human Rights Watch and others of their ilk, tale care of the "extremist problem" right away!!!
