You are absolutely correct. They have already tried everyone they despise and found them guilty. They've already decided that a horrible crime has been committed (that is what grand juries decide actually) and that said crime is the most horrific one imaginable. They have decided that based on the same information that you and I read. Their anger at Miller seems to be based on the fact that she didn't unequivocally point to Libby or Cheney as the culprits. The American Left is a vast wasteland of emotion and hysteria--and not much else. I am content to wait and see what happens--if anything. I'm an optimist, so I believe justice will out one way or the other. No one is above the law.

I thought those comments multiplied quickly and wondered what had brought out the unlistening Left.

It's fun once in awhile to get taken by surprise like that. Keeps us on our toes.

I, of course, acquitted myself admirably, even on short notice.

It has never been about doing the right thing- it has always been about 'getting' the President.

Yeah, I know, I'm tootin' 3 horns...

Assuming that Plame was an undercover operative, I've always thought that the supreme irony here was that the leftists are defending the sanctity of CIA undercover operatives. What a hoot. Any leftist worth his or her salt hates the CIA, and undercover operations particularly. It was undercover operations that the Church Committee went after 30 years ago. Undercover CIA operations are the epitome of evil in their world view.

And your Sandy Berger analysis is spot on. Don't forget that it was the NY Times that in 1971 had no compunction about printing classified documents stolen by Daniel Ellsberg. What about the sanctity of those secrets?

Jay Bird: Yes indeed. There is something hilariously absurd about lefties getting all indignant about supposed outings of CIA operatives.

And let's recap here - Judy Miller went to prison to protect her source, and now can't remember who told her about Valerie 'Flame', the name she had in her notebook?

Uh, huh. Why am I thinking that the source was Wilson himself? And she's trying her damndest to keep from admitting that?
