Clarence Thomas got an asterisk associated with his racial identification, and you have an asterisk associated with your gender. But! Since there are 8,365 unique genders already identified and yours is new, it may take some time for you to earn acceptance. They will take awhile to perceive intelligence and logic as legitimate. They haven't had to deal with it as of yet. New things throw feminist bureaucrats for a loop. |

Feminists? There are still people whom proclaim themselves to be feminists? And, here I thought that the term "feminist" had been shelved as an extinct relic of the '90s era after the Clinton administration pretty thoroughly destroyed what brand equity it had. Silly me. So, what exactly is a "feminist", what does such a creature believe, how does it behave, how does it survive? (let's avoid discussion of its mating habits, for now). |

Superb. The notion of permanent victimhood is particularly apt- if for no other reason than it highlights a certain kind of agenda- shared with groups that are, shall we say, less than savory. |

The most insane --though not at all the most dangerous-- form of PC victimhood is the complaint of Asians in America that they are burdened with the stereotype of being "the model minority". It idealizes them, which is just a step away from the dreadful crime of "exoticizing" them. And it makes the other minorities look bad. (Guess what? It makes the Whites look bad, too! ) |

EssEm - yes, there are a lot of Asian-Americans who too like to play the "victim" game. Mostly , left-leaning academic geeks, both men and women. The others are doing useful things, earning a living, and trying to be what the American dream is supposed to be. |

Actually, on a related note, my own experience is that there are a lot of Asian-Americans who feel angry about just how they became that model minority. Many Asian kids in our neighborhood have no social life (only study), they spend their summers prepping for the next year's classes, at-home discipline often involves physical and mental abuse, and they suffer a higher suicide rate than other students. When the subject comes up with my (adult, 2nd-generation) Asian-American friends, I detect a lot of anger and sadness. Their families' Confucian straight-jacket values are what keep them from truly venting. |
