No doubt the unholy alliance made between the Progressive Left and IslamoFascist is coming back to bite Liberals in the arse.
All that double-dealing betrayal against America and the liberty for which she stands just to get Bush has painful consequences.
"Queers for Palestines' or 'Jewish Lesbians for Palestine' or those believing 'Ahmadinejad is bad BUT Bush is worse' who helped to empower Islamofasicsts better figure out how to stop the misery they helped to create.

Off topic, but I'm stoked on McCain!! He'll fight the nihilist forces of global anarchy and terror.
This is from today’s L.A. Times:
“John McCain now has a pathway to the Republican presidential nomination. The question is whether he can put his fractured party back together.
The Arizona senator, long the bane of the GOP establishment, showed in Florida that he could begin cobbling together a new Republican coalition — attracting enough support from all corners of the party base to give him a plurality in the biggest and most diverse state to vote so far in the 2008 campaign.
He took about a quarter of conservatives, secured nearly a third of evangelicals, dominated among his typical base of self-described moderates, and won easily among voters who care about authenticity, experience and electability.
In winning Florida, McCain threw off a major critique of his candidacy: He prevailed in an all-Republican primary that excluded the more moderate independents who had ensured McCain’s wins in New Hampshire and South Carolina.”
I hope conservatives will be able to pull together. I doubt Romney has much chance on Super Tuesday. McCain will probably wrap up.
Then we’ll need to unite, start healing the party, and get ready to defeat the Democrats in November. Americaneocon | Email | Homepage | 01.30.08 - 10:14 am | #

Me too. McCain is a liberal masquerading as a conservative:
* free speech controls (campaign laws)
* open borders/anti-anti-immigration
* Organizer of senators to support "middle of the road" (i.e., liberal) supreme court nominees.
* support for gun control (including appearing in an ad for same)
* open contempt for conservatives expressed in frank language (including expletives) over the years.
There is much, much more, but that's enough for me. Frank | Email | Homepage | 01.30.08 - 11:42 am | #

Maybe. Maybe not. Check out Michelle Malkin - it _appears_ that some 17% of those who voted were independents - who aren't supposed to be able to vote in primaries, but apparently did so anyway. suek | Email | Homepage | 01.30.08 - 12:07 pm | #

The problem with McCain is he is dishonest, which highlights another major difference between conservatives and liberals. Most liberals admire, respect and expect their 'leaders' to be dishonest, marvelling about how 'clever' they are in manipulation, while most conservatives loath and despise such behaviour. If McCain is the nominee, a large number of conservatives given the choice between 'dishonest' and 'more dishonest' will choose neither. God help America in choosing their next leaders! How revealing it is that you continue to attack Islam while praising those avatars of Western "civilization": homosexuals and loose women!
Be assured that, in accord with Allah's (swt) instructions, Muslims everywhere will continue to chastise homosexuals and force women to dress modestly.
Regardless of how loud you scream and whine, you are powerless against the will of Allah (swt) and the actions of His servants.
As you can see, time grows very short for the enemies of Allah (swt). Embrace Islam now, before it is too late, and live in peace in submission to the will of Almighty Allah (swt).
Your grandchildren will be Muslim.

Not only are gays lower on the scale than women; but, with the ascent of multicultural political correctness dogma on the left, Muslims have ascended to the highest level of the food chain.

"Better get in practice ending every sentence with "Praise Hillary!"
The latest liberal saviours have come and gone in my lifetime - Kennedy, Carter, Clinton... Those we have survived.
What we appear to be suffering from most is the continuing leftward drift of the GOP since Reagan: Bush 1 ("read my lip, like new taxes"), Bush 2 ("our mission to democratize the world", Islam a ROP, Illegals love their children too), McCain (&*$# conservatives!)... In the end, it is hard to see how "Conservatives" will end up differing from the liberals they claim to detest if we keep chosing our leaders from an increasingly leftward tilted field.

You are assuming that, once Hillary and her radical leftists assume power, that you will actually have a say in the next election, right? Think again. They won't let power slip from their grasp so easily again.
But, hey, McCain isn't conservative enough for you so you will allow Hillary to get elected, thereby cutting off your nose to spite your face. For what...so that you can say "I told you so?".

No, it's that I don't really recognize in McCain any true conservatism. And I am not going to vote Republican just 'cause I like the label. I vote Republican BECAUSE - and when - they nominate conservatives.
I don't see McCain as conservative for all the reasons I mentioned above (free elections, second amendment, lack of respect for US citizenship rights/border protection, lack of interest in conservative judges). In addition I've never read or heard him address the threat of virulent Islam (Islamo-facism or whatever label we wish to assign it). Yes, he supported the surge, but to what end? The Iraqi war only makes sense as part of a global struggle against Islamo-facism and he seems oblivious to that.
So he is against traditional conservative values, despises conservatives themselves, and doesn't "get it" on the Long War.
How exactly is he different/better than Hillary? I've voted Republican all my life but can't see a reason to make a trip to a poll in November to pull the lever for McCain. Frank | Email | Homepage | 01.30.08 - 3:32 pm | #

Re: McCain's gun control position.
Yes, he is all over the map on this, having espoused both pro control and pro gun views depending on issue, timing, etc. To me, that means he is a deal-maker, and not operating from principal. McCain-Leiberman was enough to convince me he is not reliable.
Re: McCain's service record. As a vet, I do admire this. However, that was many decades ago, and we are now considering whether to elect him as president, not war-hero. I will not waste a vote on a liberal trying to make himself look like a conservative. Especially one with a well-documented history of distain for actual conservatives.

Aren't you getting something backwards, Doc? It's not the winner who gets the coveted victim gold medal - it's the loser.
If Hillary wins, she and the feminists will be expected to actually DO something for women. As we all know, going to Washington and actually DOING anything is difficult, and there's always the chance of failure. On the other hand, if Hillary loses, it will confirm the feminists' dogmatic belief that the evil patriarchy is afraid of powerful women. Being powerless, they won't be expected to do anything other than bitch while continuing to collect funds for the Cause.

#12.44 has no idea how lucky he is his American neighbors are so decent, forgiving, strong, tolerant, restrained in the face of his rudeness, cruelty, ingratitude, threats to destroy their beloved homeland and enslave their grandchildren.
I'm not decent, forgiving, strong or tolerant, a.m.. We share the same space, and it's far, far from Heaven.
You judge them for their human weakness? For their fallen state? For being gay (able to at least forge a real relationship with another fellow human)?
Our world is corrupt, filled with sinners and with "perfectly" inhumane anklebiters who sit in gold-plated sewers, filled with jealousy (sin) and bitterness (sin), feasting on daily lies (sin) and hate (sin), judging (sin) their fallible (still in touch with their humanity and every human's desires and weaknesses) neighbors clueless about their own fallen state (sin).
We judge each other maybe even correctly - you, me, individually.
You are as clueless about the hearts of individual gays or prostitutes or Jews or Christians or rock musicians (we all are) as you are about Americans ever selling their grandchildren into bloody slavery (or permitting others to do so in their name).

"At what point shall we expect the approach of danger? By what means shall we fortify against it? -- Shall we expect some transatlantic military giant to step the Ocean and crush us at a blow? Never! -- All the armies of Europe, Asia and Africa combined, with all the treasure of the earth (our own excepted) in their military chest; with a Bonaparte for a commander, could not by force, take a drink from the Ohio, or make a track on the Blue Ridge, in a trial of a thousand years. -- At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher.
