Isn't that one of Mohammed's wives?

heh. along the lines of "the family that prays together, stays together", I assume? How appropriate. what does anyone suppose is the lesson that the children of Islam are learning regarding all this violence and irrational behavior? little suicide bombers in more ways than one.

They were walking on the flag of Denmark, which includes a cross. This is clearly an insult to the prophet (and more) Jesus Christ.

Clearly, we should be stationing a machine gun outside those locations and shooting anyone who does not carefully avoid stepping on the cross.

Hey, it's their own rules.

OBH,

I've been thinking along this line since the whole thing blew up (pun not intended... well, okay, maybe a little) right after the cartoons came out. Muslims insult a prophet all the time. Does that mean we are obligated to kill them? It would also give us a chance to take care of a few "artists" along the way.

Caught part of a broadcast earlier today (don't remember where, sorry...) where a young Muslim woman could not understand the concept of "free speech". Of course, as she'd never experienced it.

Isn't that one of Mohammed's wives?

At least old Mo could be sure he was getting a virgin bride.

How does this injunction, supposedly by "god" to the Muslim believer prove that allah is "all merciful"? How could this god be all merciful if he constantly calls on his followers to kill each other, or non believers for faults, crimes or even mistakes?

How merciful is it to "die or be converted"? Is mercy served by death threats? Is this god so weak as to not be able to carry our his OWN threats that he needs a rabble of frothing at the mouth goons to enforce his honor?

When a human being is more virtuous or merciful than a deity he worships, we know that that deity is either a) not God or b) unworthy of worship.

John, I've posted this before, but:

"Church and Religion are different. The [Christian] Church is the institution that propagates [Christian] Religion, and like all institutions, humans [have] perverted it to serve their own ends. It is an indication of the strength of the religious instinct that the Church survives in spite of itself. [We have removed the] institutional structure."
"Islam did the same thing."
"No, Islam only denied its preisthood the security of place and tenure. Lacking security, the imams and mullahs are also notably lacking in charity -- 'Three things I have never seen, the eye of an ant, the foot of a snake, and the compassion of a mullah.'"
