Ummmm....I think that is an incorrect link. It linked me to an article about John Bolton's nomination for a peace prize. That isn't what I was expecting...!

Sorry! The link is fixed. Usually I check these things, but I'm in the middle of making dinner!

The author of this article should receive kudos for being willing to face reality and acknowledge the truth about "the revolution". The self-deception of today's left is astonsihing. You have said it yourself, doc--they stand for nothing.

In our haste to rightly condemn Communism and Socialism, let's not forget that Nazism (frequently differentiated from these two) is also a national Socialist movement.

When Hitler's Nazis' were fighting Russia it was like two children in a fight to the death to see who wins the inheritance. It turns out that the enemy of our enemy became our "friend" and we still haven't recovered.

Nazism, Communism, Socialism and the leanings of today's left in America -- not a micron's difference in goals, only a slight difference in means and patience.

ExP

ExP (and all of you, actually) I recommend to your attention the great comments section over at Dr. Helen's in her post about the Holocaust Museum. There's some folks over there who know their history well. Fits well with this.

If the European and American Left are not going to be convinced by the Eastern Europeans, what on earth would convince them?

"And the remnants of those sick ideologies are still around to spread their poison in the world. "

Who are you talking about? Certainly the world has numerous repressive regimes, some of which are our enemies and some of which are allies. The closets I can think of is North Korea, but certainly there's no country that wants to emulate it.

Nice Michael; your true colors are revealed. Venezuela and Bolivia are now in the grip of Socialist Dictators and are actively courting Cuba, Iran and China in their anti-freedom hatred of America and capitalism. Ncie denial Mike.

What denial? I was just asking for information.

While Venezuela is flirting with socialism, strangely enough the president was elected, and presumably could lose the next election, and so doesn't quite qualify as a dictator. Its hard to say that that road is any more of a problem than say military dictatorships which don't bother with holding elections. Note that I'm not supporting Chavez, but simply pointing out on the grand scale of forms of government which suppress freedom, monarchies such as in Saudi Arabi and military dictatorships such as in Pakistan are worse in my book.

Now, there's nothing wrong with the article focusing on socialism, I was just curious to see if the author was talking about France

MC- do you really think that Chavez will willingly walk out should he lose the next election...or that there will actually be a valid national election in Venezuela under his regime? Delusional, man....truly delusional. As bad as Saudi Arabia and Pakistan are, they are at least making tentative (if somewhat ingenuous) steps to recognize the rights of their citizens to speak out (Pakistan may be a one-party state butit is not a police state). Like Castro's Cuba, Bolivia will soon be one-person dicatorships, police states wand economic basket cases.

Ooops! Sorry. Forgot to sign in. That was me in the last post.
