Here's a thought: try learning how to control your emotions. After that we'll talk about controlling the world.

"Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,The wretched refuse of your teeming shore,Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
Anyone who yearns to breathe free is always welcome, regardless of race, gender, nationality. Only those who desire power over others and whose goal is to import tyranny are not invited to our shore. I hope we will always have the wisdom to know the difference. And that we err on the side of freedom. anonymous | Email | Homepage | 02.26.06 - 2:06 pm | #

It is interesting to me how "victimized" muslims feel around the world when it is they who are trying to impose their way of life on others. I know many countries where they would be left in peace to worship thier god, but they insist that you worship him too. Poor interpersonal skills, I guess. It's very interesting that leftist trolls are openly against freedom. Freedom properly defined, as freedom from coercion of any kind.
Typically, marxist-leftist's re-define freedom to mean doing whatever you please. Regardless of violating someone's rights or going against the laws of physics. They start stupid and end stupid.
The guy comes here day after day preaching redistribution of wealth, something you can only do if you take away a person's freedom.
And he claims to be 'for' capitalism, but it would be impossible to accumulate any capital under a system of forced redistibution of wealth, making things like skyscrapers and factories impossible.
People seem to understand now that the left is utterly opposed to freedom. And that their program of unlimited tolerance, political correctness, is how they continue to get invited in amongst decent people.
But people seem as yet to understand that if PC is wrong, then intolerance must be right. Intolerance of the freedom hating leftists that is.
Only in Mitzeltopia, where contradictions don't matter, can you be for capitalism and for coerced redistribution of wealth.
The constant false whine of the rich having too much for Mitzeltopian capitalism, is actually utterly wrong. There would be more skyscrapers and even more grand scale projects if there were an even greater difference between the rich and poor.
It's really all about envy with these rats, and tireless repetition. And our allowing them to get away with it.
Capitalism distributes wealth, justly, period. Wealth only goes to people who earn it.
Freedom, freedom from coercion, makes this mare go. And man does she go!
The left's hatred of freedom and love of coercion is one link to their muslim buddies in spirit. The muslims live in a zone of complete coercion to their otherworldly god, and the leftists live in submission to their otherworldly utopian set of contradictions.
It is disgusting. anonymous | Email | Homepage | 02.26.06 - 4:59 pm | #

Anonymous, your assertions about capitalism are simply wrong. Go read an economics textbook or something, then maybe we can chat.
As for freedom--at this point, I do not think that Middle Eastern countries should have anything to do with our nation's ports. If that means I "hate freedom," so be it. Mitzell | Email | Homepage | 02.26.06 - 8:08 pm | #

Hey, Mitzell...not all Arabs are Islamist and not all Islamists are Arab. Also, Gulf Arabs are not the same as Saudi Arabs - Dubai is open to other religions and is as close to being a modern state as you will find in the Arab world. Stop profiling. GW is working hard to prevent a world war between Islam and the rest of the world by showing Middle Eastern how they, too, can prosper in the modern world. and you Lefties seem hell-bent on trying to start one! You saying they're stuck on it?

Yeah, they don't seem to grasp how making John work so they can give the fruits of his labor to Paul has a name: It's called "slavery". That it's done piecemeal rather than wholesale does not change the nature of this ugly thing.
> Only in Mitzeltopia,
Maybe we can trick him into saying his name backwards, and he'll magically return there...?
> Capitalism distributes wealth, justly, period. Wealth only goes to people who earn it.
Not exactly true with inheritance (think "Neil Bush"), but it's better, safer, and more consistent and reliable than any *other* known system, which is what matters.
> Anonymous, your assertions about capitalism are simply wrong. Go read an economics textbook or something, then maybe we can chat.
Mitzell, when you've actually shown yourself to grasp any economics concepts past Marxism and Keynesianism, then you can suggest that and not sound like an absolute idiot. Until then... WHACK!
> As for freedom--at this point, I do not think that Middle Eastern countries should have anything to do with our nation's ports.
I tend to agree. BFD. So do lots of other people. Your position is as much being against Bush as it is actually grasping why it's a bad idea.
> Stop profiling.
Danny, there are times and places where profiling is a good idea.
Airplanes, ports of *all* kinds.
We can certainly help them become trustworthy partners without exposing ourselves to that kind of risk before they've demonstrated solidarity with us.
... and, for a modern state, they ARE known to support far too much modern terrorism via financial matters. Oh Blutige Hölle | Email | Homepage | 02.28.06 - 2:55 pm | #
