Don't cry for them. I'm sure they'll recycle all of these talking points in time for the fall elections. They'll also be shouting "Abu Ghraib!" "Haditha!" "Enron!" etc. etc. They'll be publishing the historically low deaths of our soldiers in Iraq as if they were unprecedented in history; and of course there will be Cindy and Michael calling Republicans terrorists. And don't forget how Republicans want to kill poor people and black people and destroy the lives of gay people.

No, I assure you, we'll hear all the usual BS over and over again by November.

Sure, we'll hear the same mantras again. When your spokespeople are Sheehan, Moore, Murtha, Dean, NJ Widows, Al Francken & Janeane Garofalo there is ZERO learning curve effect. Is Air America still around? I drove roundtrip from Cleveland to Sarasota & listened to every radio talk show I could find- heard Rush, Laura Ingram, Medved, Savage, Bortz, Bennett, Mike Gallagher, Hugh Hewitt, Hannity, & a few others. Even seeking out Air America I never found it. Then I saw Garofalo & Francken pictures on the side of a bus in Manhattan a couple weeks ago. They as political commentators make me laugh- like you can really learn international politics traveling the Comedy Club circuit? I guess Condoleeza wasted her time getting that Stanford doctorate & working 60 hour weeks for 20 years in Int'l politics- she could've just hung out with Janeane at The Comedy Store!

Don't be too pessimistic Dr. Sanity. I don't think it will be be too long in coming. After all the revision of the Reagan/Thatcher legacy from the criminal abomination portrayed by the MSM has already started, and even the younger generation is able to look on what they did and see that, while some of it might not have been pretty, it was necessary.

Since the Left's message is *SO* far out there, and so self-serving, it stands to reason it will be the more obvious to spot for the base moral and ethical sell-out it has been. Theirs is the ongoing cry of the infant whose tantrum has been going on for so long it no longer knows why it is crying. Anti-Bush-Derangement Syndrome is the pacifier that enables them to go to sleep, knowing that there's someone to blame for all their problems, and faults, and guilts.

My question is: When history gets past all of the MSM dross to see the people and events of our time for what they actually were, will any of these ethic-/morality-free gits have the strength of character to take responsibility for having been terribly wrong? (I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this one, but I'd really, really like to be wrong).

In reading the NYT article, the first bit of positive news is followed by weak attempts to find negative aspects, The NYT effort to be fair and balanced. Here is one laughable quote:

"Democrats and many independent budget analysts note that overall revenues have barely climbed back to the levels reached in 2000, and that the government has spent trillions of dollars from Social Security surpluses just as the first of the nation's baby boomers are nearing retirement."

..revenues have barely climbed back..
They were $2,025 bil in 2000; $2,404 bil in 2005; and are now projected to be $2,404 for 2006. This is an 18.7% increase over a 6 year period; 2.9% per year compounded annually.

..spent..social secuity surpluses...
As it has done every year since SS was founded, a problem GWB tried to fix but the Democrats victoriously defeated.

> Don't cry for them.

I'll save my tears for Argentina, how's that?

> like you can really learn international politics traveling the Comedy Club circuit?

Well, to the level that the Dems are impressed by the breadth of their knowledge, yeah.

Of course, they've never really mastered setting the clock on the VCR, so they are often impressed by little children -- so that's not saying an awful lot.

> Theirs is the ongoing cry of the infant whose tantrum has been going on for so long it no longer knows why it is crying.

Actually, I am put in mind a segment some years back on America's Funniest Videos (No, *I* didn't watch it, but I have friends with unsophisticated tastes, so I've seen it on occasion!):
There's this toddler, probably about 3 or 4, who is throwing a temper tantrum, and it's being caught on video. The adult with the camera moves out of sight, and the toddler gets up, moves until they are in sight again, sits back down and starts wailing. Move again. Toddler stops, gets up, moves into view, plops down & wails. This move-plop-wail cycle occurs at least 3 or four times with the toddler never grasping that it's obviously a known act they're putting on trying to get more attention.

The Left is that toddler, in spades.

Exactly OBH. But say one word of how ill-informed, wrong, and quite frankly totally ignorant of what is actually occuring in the world and how our Nation is effectively dealing with it, and you are labelled an evil, mean-spirited moron. I really can't wait to see the huge temper tantrum I believe will occur after this November. I really can't think of even one reason why anyone of average intelligence could possibly vote for a Democrat. I know many will, mostly because of the constant barrage of propaganda and hatred spewed by the MSM, but I'm confident that America has more general intelligence than that. It really isn't too hard to fathom how the party platform of Hate, Doom and Gloom isn't real popular....

Now if only we could tighten the purse strings of Congress and we'd have an actual surplus.

Amen, brother. It's hard to blame the Dems for all the spent$, isn't it? Our guys did their fair share of wasting the coin of the realm as well.

I've read a lot about the Laffer Curve, but I've never seen an actual method that could determine what is the optimum tax rate for a given system. The Curve has two sides, after all. How do you find that peak?

I agree with Katje. Reality is coming home to roost, and very unamicably upon the rotten eggs of the "raped chicken" Liberal castrates in a massive way - and quite soon, I believe.

Dr. Sanity will live to see it. My hopes are going exponential. Personally, I sense the kill, and my inborn killer instinct has been recently elicited to tell me to push now for the coup d''etat, so to speak. I am in no way counting my chickens before they hatch, and it's "never really over" anyway. [Reagan Sec. of State, George Schultz, said this once about 'Washington', shortly after Dems were trying to get him to have his urine drug tested. He basically told them to F-off.]

Even here locally in my small County - pop. = 7100/area 2 1/2 x Rhode Island - Faux Liberal "Things" have been hard at work like termites over 25 years. But they have become very vulnerable due to the putrid fruits of their own vile labor, and themselves seem ripe to be squashed into the organic, Solyent Green, manure they say they love so much. I think I can get a bunch of them correctly processed - also because the local "rednecks" are smarter than the Fake Liberals, and the rednecks are a large majority here, at least 2/1.

One long-term local F.Liberal who I've known for nearly 30 years worth of sanctimonious obsessing and disasterizing, and who writes this rancidly narcissistic stuff ad nauseum for the local paper, noted a few months ago in his column that Republican registration here had gone up from about 25% to 75% over the time he has lived here. Naturally, he concluded from this that the Republican Party was doomed. [Just lately he desparately presumed to speak for a local dead icon. "I know what Gwen might have said about Gitmo, etc,...." Cindy Sheehan probably has nothing on Rich. Sorry, moron, I knew Gwen, too.]

And check this out: my 9/11/1987 18 y.o. daughter just talked for 2 hours with her Marine boyfriend in Iraq. He is there on his second tour and leads a small combat unit of about 10-15 men. He has just been told that he doesn't "have to even think about" aggressive combat anymore. His and other units will now only "patrol", which is a gigantic change of outlook and mission.

This is also consistent with what Gen. Barry McCaffrey reported fairly recently: that the Iraq Military ["IDF", I believe] is in great shape. When you think about it, the new Iraq Military probably has a lot of Saddam's "elite" Republican Guard troops fighting for Iraq, under new management. The plan involving initially disbanding the Iraq Military while not holding them as pow's was brilliant. Who in their right mind would keep enemy units intact, especially when their Commander in Chief had not even surrendered? Another dead meme notched. "No plan?", morons.

The recent Amnesty and release of other prisoners will likely be net positive. Probably not many of the non-Islamofascist "insurgents" are totally nuts. Another meme is going down. Iraq is still not Vietnam, either.

The recent "no msm Iraq news is good news" is encouraging. I guess alleged rape-murder only occurs in the Military?

Another Nat.Guard 30 y.o. "kid" friend I've known well for 16 years finished his tour in Afganistan as a helicopter pilot. He chose to re-up to be trained as a "C" level Military transport pilot, even though he owns 3 helicopters - one of which he built himself - a hanger, etc.. He probably could instead have geared toward reopening his family crop spraying, etc., business. At the very least the Guard seems to have enough helicopter pilots.

I know another guy who went to S. Korea to fly Blackhawks, or maybe some other attack copter, about 4 years ago. He told us a really funny story about a certain kind of "hazing" which he received as a "new-kid". They faked him into letting his "retiring" mechanic fly his copter "please, just once". The mechanic lifted off with the pilot in the back, and then he cruised around the field about 10 feet off the ground with the pilot increasingly protesting. Then they "arrested" the pilot when the mechanic finally consented to land, and put him in a room while they convened a "hearing" involving even the on-site "brass". The pilot thought his life was over. Oh, "the abuse, the torture, the humiliation"! No we call it hillarious, and unit bonding, Jack.

Anyway, the Planets might be coming into alignment faster, naturally. No one knows how fast they are "really" going anyway.

Jan notes correctly: "No, I assure you, we'll hear all the usual BS over and over again by November."

I hope they do. I'm sure that most normal people (and more than a few of the chanters themselves) are sick and tired of hearing the BS.

So as tiring as it is for us to listen to, it's not good for their prospects, so lean back and laugh.

Who said history does not repeat itself?
This same thing happened in the American Civil War. Lincoln was bad mouthed through out the war, called a monkey, accused of mismanagment (which was true to the extent that he let McMcellan run the army,) and would have lost his second election if Grant hadn't started to win some battles. But now history considers Licoln one of our greatest Presidents. Too bad for him and us that history sometimes takes a while to wake up.
